The reservation Was Made For Me by another U-Haul franchise holder. Without telling me, he only reserved the vehicle for 4 hours. I really needed it for the full day. I was late picking it up and the franchise holder where I picked it up you got nasty with me, saying that he would not let me take the vehicle if I couldn't get it back in time. This particularly upset me since I had tried to rent from the same dealer the previous week, and had been unable to rent from him because the previous user of the vehicle had not returned it on time. While this was understandable, they searched for another pickup truck in the same locale and told me none was available. They tried to rent me a truck which I didn't want and which ultimately I could not take because it had the wrong towing hitch. I then went to Uhaul nationally and they found another pickup for me which was actually located closer to where I needed the vehicle. On this occasion I had to accept the vehicle and was very rushed trying to complete what I needed to do in time to return it by 1:30 I did make it back by 2 p.m. . The other renter had not showing up indeed had told him that he was going to be two hours late, but the dealer didn't bother to call me to indicate that I would not be as pressed as I was. Also when I took the vehicle took the vehicle I was told that I had a full tank of gas, when it actually had only 7/8 or less ( which I only noticed after I was on the road). To his credit however, when I returned it full he credited me for all of the gas which I purchased. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience.JOHN V.

Short term use of vehicle for a day is beat out in cost by Home Depot. I like U Haul but the savings using Home Depot for a short move is much less. The sales rep that took of us at the North Port FL location was excellent! She explained everything well, hooked up the trailer to my vehicle and was extremely polite. The transaction took about 10 minutes which was a very short amount of time. When I returned the trailer the guys were very polite. This location has significantly changed; 1)they double booked the same trailer for a full day rental. 2)both sides of the trailer were in poor shape from people running into things. 3)the tailgate was bowed from people running a heavy piece of equipment onto it. The 26' truck had a check engine light on constant. then the ABS lights and another warning light would illuminate on the dash randomly when the truck would go over a bump in the road. This would cause the cruise control to turn off and the truck to loose power. Then I would have to pull over shut off the truck for a few minutes the start the truck to clear issues. Having to stop with a loaded truck and car on the trailer was difficult without the ABS working. It was an interesting drive across the country to say the leastSEAN D.

The pick-up truck I rented to transport a Ubox had 18,993 on the odometer. The contract # 22288323 had mileage out 18,943. They misread the odometer by 50 miles. The trailer that I reserved was in operable when I arrived (flat tire) and there was not another one available. I asked if they could change the tire and I was told they didn't have any to replace it with. We chose the self pick up option. When we got to the location they told us it was around back at the warehouse and I would see the truck number outside.
