An interesting exchange at the turn-in event on PanAmerican Blvd in Northport, Florida. Gentleman at the front desk made an excellent point...to the very competent person behind the desk..."Look, I did everything online, and made a reservation, picking up on Saturday morning, and at the last minute, you need a 2nd person vouching for me?:" Nobody is answering the phone," There were at least 8 people in the shop, 3 of us walked out to come back later". It seems like an item that could have been resolved online, rather than the last minute." I am a superfan of what Uhaul is opening up for me, and any streamlining of the operation works for all of U$. A major, major business opportunity seems like it open up for me using Uhaul!

Abysmally incompetent service from U-Haul, mostly U-Haul Philadelphia. We had requested three U-Haul boxes with moving helpers on a Wednesday. U-Haul was not able to find three boxes in the entire Philadelphia area, they could only find two. Nor could they find a moving helper arriving before 8 pm. So the helper left at midnight with the second box. Instead of driving down that evening to spend a few days with our daughter, we had to sleep a few hours in a motel where we live. The day after, we found out that U-Haul, for a reason that no one in U-Haul could explain, had cancelled the contract and the moving help and replaced it with a piano move (we were not moving a piano). We spent the whole morning of Thursday trying to restore the previous contract, and get that third box and movers. We waited all day long in our empty house for the arrival of the third box. It never came. So, second night in a downtown motel. Same story on Friday: e-mailing and calling to get that third box, spending the whole day lying on the floor in an empty house, waiting and waiting and waiting, It is only on Friday evening that a moving helper agreed to take us as an overload, so that we could finally leave our house around 10 pm on Friday, arriving at our daughter's place at 1 am on Saturday. So, instead of a two-day goodbye to our family on our way to Florida, we spent two hours on Saturday morning as we had to leave for settlement in our new house. The arrival of the boxes in North Port was consequently delayed by three days, so three more days living without our stuff. U-Haul Philadelphia did not warn U-Haul North Port about the delay. When our boxes finally arrived home (after U-Haul North Port made the mistake of sending us a box originating from the Pittsburgh area instead of Philadelphia), we found two broken lights in one of the boxes. Never, ever, use U-Haul. Their service is catastrophic.

There were three people in line at 7 a.m. to pick up their vehicles everything had been prepaid in advance buy older customers and when we all arrive two out of three did not have their phone and I was still learning my phone so they want us to do texting do links and all that stuff for some reason. Had my credit card and all my information along with the other two gentleman that were in line with me. So we all had to go back and get our phones oh, and try to figure out how to take pictures of our license on our cameras through the links. It was very frustrating and took forever. I also understand that there is a coronavirus but The associate taking the reservation with seemed very standoffish and wouldn't give us any help. We were all over 50 so we're not technologically savvy.

Extremely rude and unprofessional. Trying to charge us for a new tire when one had slightly low air pressure when it is low when we picked it up and had to put air in it immediately after leaving the pickup.

I called to tell them that I would be a bit late returning the truck. If he had told me that I was going to be charged for another whole day; then I would have kept the truck for the rest of the time! I did return it with more gas than it had when my grandson and I rented it. There should be an hourly rate for those of us with the courtesy to call. I will not be renting from Uhaul in the future!

My trailer did not have working driving lights. The brake lights and trailer lights worked. All of my vehicle lights worked properly. This caused me to be stopped by highway patrol. Thank goodness I only received a warning. This is my only complaint.

The staff is constantly hard at work ensuring that customer's needs are satisfied in an efficient and courteous manner.They provide above average service while operating under what appears to be stressful working conditions. The only drawback to this U-haul facility is that onsite parking, while completing your local move, is not permitted. That means that you will have to have someone else follow you to pick up and return the truck. The other options would be to park illegally on another business's property (Possibly getting ticketed, towed, or having your auto vandalized) or find a a safer parking place near Tamiami Trail and walking back and forth to the U-haul site. With the clean and well functioning truck provided to me, coupled with good customer service, I'd recommend this dealership to others.

There was no after hour drop off. The place was very small inside and outside. They did no inspection of the truck or trailer when I dropped it off. I got no paperwork saying everything was returned and in good condition.

The signs at the location say 24/7 return however the facility is gated and we were not provided with a gate code. We were able to follow another person into the lot but we were then trapped when we tried to leave. The phone number on the key pad wasn't answered and the voice mail wasn't set up. Also the lot is a mess - tires, garbage, trailers everywhere.

Air conditioning did not work. Sliding back door could only be raised half way. Door rollers were rusted so badly l had to use a hammer to knock off the corrosion and then needed a lot of WD 40 to get the door open all the way.

This is the second time we have used this location. The first time I booked online and when I arrived the truck was clean and in good condition. This time I drove from Maine to Venice, Florida. There are a number of drop off locations, but this location is convenient and the staff is friendly. I would not change a thing.

Terrible customer service over charged lied about miles on my contract. And prior rental to that they over charged me for gas I brought it back exactly how I left the yard but still charged me

Received horrible customer service, for some reason my truck mileage was wayyyyy off and it wasn't my fault, I was told my beginning mileage I rented a $19.99 truck and ended up costing me over $70. All I did was drive 15 miles. Absolutely ridiculous.

The delivery drive was the best. Getting in touch with the office and scheduling was terrible. No one answers the phone, calls then get routed to the corporate office and this is a fiasco. The boxes for the moved worked fine, it's just the office personnel and communications that lacks professionalism. Staff was friendly, just not helpful.

I did the self check in to avoid hassle and because I was running late. When I went to the front to put the keys in the drop box as instructed I couldn't locate one. I went inside to drop off the keys but for an extended period of time I was alone in there, no employees. I went outside and tracked someone down. I explained I was dropping off the keys because I already finished the self check. Instead of taking my keys and letting me leave he told me to go get the truck and bring it to a different spot so he could check it in. The self check in was supposed to save time and limit exposure to other people but in this situation it did not. I didn't have a mask with me and he wasn't wearing one so I'm a little upset that while trying to use the tools uhaul provided I still had to do a regular equipment return

I had originally rented a truck from my location which closer to my home and was sent to this location in another town. Well I do not blame this location for causing this I do not think that I will be using U-Haul again because of this. Clearly was not good customer relations

The storage was fine, it’s the part that when I moved out before the end of my month that they said I would not get a refund of over half the month that I was upset. What place would not give back your money when you are no longer using their service? I just think this is an unfair practice. I busted my butt to get my unit cleared thinking I would get most of my money back only to hear we don’t prorate.

Staff was helpful. Was told security gate would work soon, but it never worked. NEVER had the rat problem like this in prior units. You have them. Re-bait the poison traps! Door latch stuck badly.

There needs to be a step a little closer to the ground for us short people. At least supply us with a fold up step. It really hurts our legs, back and arms getting in and out of the truck.
