I was offered a quick and easy way to lock down a storage unit on line and I accepted that process and used my payment card to pay for it. The Northfield location offered one free month, and not once after repeated contact with them did they acknowledge that I made my payment on line although they continued to tell me that my payment was returned to my debit card account.

I returned to drop off the vehicle, forgive me if it was written in the contract to leave the vehicle in a certain spot and leave the key inside. I must have missed that. Nonetheless, I walk into the facility. The associate was taking care of what I thought was another customer, so I wait for 2-5 minutes, the person walks way. I thought your associate was finishing up paperwork or something of that sort. Another minute or so has passed, I never was acknowledged and all I'm trying to do is return the vehicle. Finally, I had to get the guys attention to let him know I was retuning the vehicle. I walked towards the counter and this mf is playing on his phone. The mf seen me standing there. And so did the girl that stood up out of the chair on the customers side of the counter. So why did I have to address them oppose to either one of them addressing me with a simple, how can I help you? I really like the actual facility with the whole, climate control and accessibility hour. But that experience with the help. I could never recommend anyone that I know to go here. Unless the associates here develop better manors.

My original reservation was at a location that "was unable to fulfill my needds" so I was contacted by UHUAL and my pick up location was changed. I arrived at 9AM and was already 4th in line before the doors were opened a few minutes after 9. There was just one person to serve an ever exxpanding line of customers. It took a full hourt from start to finish--with a reservation--not a walk in. If I recommend this location to anyone I would advise them to make sure they expect it to take 1 hour to complete the pick up process.

Felt like made up reason, something about it was required because the rental fleet was a 3rd party owner or something. Instead of arguing I took the charge but will not return to this location because of this.
AARON CI did self check in. I was assigned a dilapidated truck. When I went to the counter to pick up the key and “bypass the line” I was told to wait. Then they could not find the key so I had to wait and be assigned another truck. The new truck had a broken mirror, one windshield wiper scraped metal on glass, and the cargo area had not been swept. When I returned the truck the person who was supposed to be checking trucks in was sitting in his private vehicle and did not get out to help until prompted. When he did he reeked of marijuana smoke and said I needed to do self return. The location closed one hour before posted closing time. Will never return to this location.

We especially appreciate the Ace Movers company, out of Myrtle Beach, who quickly and expertly emptied our pods into our new home. They were extremely helpful and we would highly recommend them.
Carol JDoor 2 that I had to use to enter and leave the storage area was broken. The sensor did not work. I had to wait for someone to open the door to enter as well as wait for someone to open the door to leave. The man who came when I left was rude, implying I was stupid for going too close to the door when all I was doing was trying to activate the garage door (which is what I was told to do to enter). I again had to what to have the cargo door on my truck opened as it was frozen closed. Two female employees tried, then a very nice gentleman took care of it. These delays added at least one hour to the removal of my goods. Garage door should function and the cargo door on the truck should be confirmed to be functional before allowing me to rent the cargo truck. Im 5’1” and 120 lbs and 69 years old. Too many issues.

Lastly i had to ask for that credit for that dolly i never got. If advertised as controlled climate, I would appreciate if that were true, even in the hot months. I feel that the issue is that there is too much open space upstairs. The ceiling should be closed off, because the heat is trapped upstairs.

I have not received an apology or anything for standing out in the rain and having to find an open unused storage unit due to their error. I just think had I just stuck to my storage unit at an offsite location I would not have had to deal with this. They were very nice inside the store but the service after leaving was the absolute worst. U-Haul is very difficult to get in contact for any support or help. If I had to do this over again I would definitely used a different storage and truck facility.

I had to throw out one of my king size mattress which wasn’t covered. I found out that the insurance isn’t worth anything it doesn’t cover insects only rodents. I called the office and they told me that the unit gets treated twice a week. They would spray over and under my unit. How are you going to spray under and over my unit when it’s on the second floor inside the building. I set off three roach foggers that didn’t work. Came back and saturated the whole unit with 90 proof alcohol and hot shot roach spray that helped a little. Once it was time for move out I had to dump everything to make sure no roaches were left in my things. I feel bad for the people who are paying hundreds of dollars for storage and turns around and gets involuntary roaches.

Vera D | Overall ExperienceIt is hard to put into words how bad the experience of renting from this location is. This place is a disaster of epic proportions. To start, the facility is poorly maintained. There were multiple times when the elevator was not functional. I had a second floor unit storing large/heavy pieces of artwork. I spent countless unnecessary hours lugging pieces one at a time up and down the stairs instead of using a cart and moving a dozen at a time because the elevator was seemingly broken 50% of the time. It is often really difficult to find carts at the location. One of the exterior bay doors is badly damaged and hasn’t functioned for the last 2 months so only one interior loading bay is working. Thus is super annoying when you’re trying to move things out of your unit during January when it’s 5 degrees outside. The exterior card reader to disarm units has been broken for several months. There were times when I literally couldn’t get into the facility if the main office was closed. In general the service level provided by the employees is unbelievably poor - to call most of them incompetent is an insult to the word incompetent. Incompetent would be an upgrade in performance for this crew. Most of them act as if you’re inconveniencing them if you dare to ask them to pretend to do their job. I would whole-heartedly embrace incompetence over the complete dysfunctionality of the current staff. To top it off, I’ve been in the office multiple times when employees were extremely sick and figuratively hacking up their lungs. Literally only one person that I dealt with out of about 15 was capable of doing their job at a minimum acceptable level. As I emptied my large unit I requested moving to the one next door with a green “ready for new occupant” sticker on it - I talked to several employees and they told me that unit was currently occupied even though it wasn’t. So then I had to move everything to another unit far away, yet another waste of my time. Then they messed up the transfer of my unit - I expressly told them to auto-charge my card on file, but their gross incompetence ensured that - of course - they messed that up and I ended up with a late fee because they didn’t set up the bill pay as I requested. I closed out the unit on March 3rd. No doubt I will get a Late Payment reminder in a few weeks because I’m sure they messed up the closeout just like they did everything else over the last 15 months.

This was a result of me losing all of my personal items in the auction. I moved out of state and my first year was very hard financially. I contacted Uhaul and much as possible, hardly ever being contacted to the actual store. I was never helped in a pleasant customer service way. I was locked out of my storage a few times due to system failure. Their were always lots of spider webs in the unit and it never had a light for me to see well to remove items.

I was told that the lock came with the unit and I didn't need, but I received no credit. This is unacceptable. The lock isn't free and you received the credit for the price. And the free lock back into your storage.

I want to share that LaMar Stevenson, and other staff members have been more then helpful when addressing any of my customer service matters. LaMar Stevenson, is a gem within your organization. If I had a business I would steal him from you! Also, please know that I didn’t leave but that I moved into a smaller space yesterday. Again, the service was above & beyond. The new space was sanitized (COVID guidelines) and I felt safe during moving from one space to another as well.

There are 3 stations in which they can help customers.... 1- should be for product purchases, 2- could be servicing customers with reservations and unit check in/out, and 3- customers with questions,etc., 2 & 3 should be able to toggle back & forth to accommodate and make the lines move faster. Please ... teach your employees to be courteous & helpful and wear name tags so that patrons know to whom they spoke with and who to report to management so that they may be held accountable for their actions or lack of, good or bad. I only had two occasions in I had to deal with the staff. Checking in and closing out my unit. Both were equally as frustrating! Thank you!
