0/10 service. They were practically mute when helping me at the counter, when I asked for advice on packing an item the woman basically said she didn't know, didn't try to help or get help. And when we took the truck out it was on E, so they told me if I added gas they would refund the credits, but after I filled the gas, the light was still on E. So I don't know how many others they've asked to put gas in the truck because it's â€œempty.â€ There are plenty of uhaul locations around to easily avoid this one.Kristina I.

The person that helped us gave us a hard time because last time we rented a truck and we didn't return it to two days after but we paid for everything and we called corporate. They knew about it. The tire straps on the auto transporter was broken and short in length. The tire straps did not allows us to strap down the tires on the vehicle, we were unable to use the auto transporter but still got charged. The equipment was not well maintained.Shawn S.

Worst experience ever. We went to our reserved location and they didn't have our rental. A second farther away location was offered to us but we had to Uber there to get it. Then we leave and the gas gauge doesn't work and we run out of gas halfway to our house. Two homeless people had to help us push the van out of the intersection. We needed to walk several miles to a store to buy a gas can then even farther to a gas station in 90 degree weather. Then I go to fill up more gas because the van still says empty and I end up spending $75 on gas just to move the needle but I'm worried it's leaking out because the pick up spot said someone broke into the gas tank and stole the gas. I can't get through to intone at the pickup store and customer service keeps putting me on hold. The whole experience was completely unacceptable and we need to be reimbursed further for the trouble and all the gas we purchased plus the Uber we had to take since the first reservation we made was walking distance from our house. First your app keeps kicking me off each time I tried to submitting a complaint When trying to exit the truck I placed my feet in the inner step and before being able to set one foot on the ground I slipped and fell. I was so soar that I had to keep the truck an additional day. I am still very soar! I tried many times to summit a complaint while returning the truck on line but I kept getting booted off and start all over I must had been at the parking lot over a half an hour and the people over the intercom was so rude saying I had to leave and was calling police as I was trying to finish the process of submitting the return . I'm sure if the truck had the non slip strips I would not have slipped, fell, got injured or had to keep it another day. So I don't believe I should pay for it and additional day. Nor the fees to have it dropped off as I did try to summit it on line and I did take picture's. You can look on the surveillance cameras and you'll see that I was there a long time oh and that I was in obvious pain. And the people over there Intercom was rude having me hurry which I would had done if Uhaul on line returning system was not booting me off and also more importantly if Uhaul hadn't neglected to think of customers safety and applied non slip strips on the trucks I wouldn't had kept the truck an additional day and I definitely wouldn't be in pain!!Angela C.

Carl was great, running around trying to help everybody. I noticed they're short staffed because there was no once there but him. Whoever is in charge of making sure they're not short staffed is very unprofessional and irresponsible because that's not a proper way to treat anybody. The only trouble we had was confirming the rental return. The links worked in the sense it took me to the correct webpage. But each time I tried to sign in, it didn't let me. Then once I finally signed in with the reservation it recognized my email. Therefore, either enforcing someone to make an account for uhaul IF the return time is after closed hours OR just fix the glitch. I did like that you had the email for customer service. I was able to submit photo and timestamps to show the return & I am thankful for that. So A+ on contingency plans. Thank youCheyenne M.
There needs to be gas in the vehicle. Both vehicles they tried to give me had been siphoned empty during the night. They said it was okay to return it empty, but then 3 and1/2 hours later when I returned it (almost empty) they (different person) didn't believe me. If there's no gas pump on premisis they should have full 5 gallon gas cans as backup, or they should check the vehicles in the morning and fill as necessary. Why do they make it the customer's problem? Otherwise I had no problem.Daniel P.

10' trucks should have a ramp, or the option to rent a ramp. I had to rent a 15' truck, oversized truck and used more gas than necessary because i needed the ramp option.CHARLENE M.
Horrible experience. First of all, the pick up truck was so dirty and they said that was all they can do to clean it. We didn't have time to clean it ourselves as we had to drive very far away. We got quoted for one amount for 2 days. After returning the truck we had a different amount. We were charged extra 50 miles and it took them 4 days for them to resolve the issue. There is a problem when you contact U-Haul for a reservation. You don't speak to someone in a location closer to you. There is people answering the phone who works from home and they don't know exactly how things work. That was the issue in our situation. My advice to anyone who wants to rent from U-Haul. Speak to someone in a location closer to your area and if it's posible go in yourself. Make sure you understand how the charges work for the days you are renting and how they calculate the mileages. There is different prices depending which days you are renting and how many mileages you will be needing. Lesson learned. I do have to give credit to Juan the manager at the location we rented from. After explaining and arguing with him over the phone about our situation. He gave us the credit for the mileages the we were over charge. I hope this review can serve others and don't make the same mistake we did. Ask many questions and make sure you are clear about your charges. Good luck!Jaime C.

Their friendliness,consideration and professionalism was beyond the standard of what I could've ever expected from any storage facility in the country. Jose and the entire staff are to be commended for such excellent service- and even though I Didn't find a reasonable place to call home in my hometown, it definitely Was a true relief to have my belongings stored there for the amount of time that I did. I called in advance to see if I could park onsite and was told yes. When I got there I was told no and street parking only. The location is not in a safe area so as a woman I was concerned for my safety. The truck was dirty with a corona bottle in the back of the truck and cigarettes in the bed of the truck. I have reserved a 4x5 enclosed trailer every year months in advance. Every single year the trailer somehow is suddenly un available even though it was reserved. The receptionist guy gives you the feeling that you are bothering him and that he is really not happy to help. Without eye contact with the customer, and his answers shorts without additional information. To many U-Haul rental vehicles and trailers making it hard to safely park. Once you have boxes in your car blocking your view, you can easily run into another vehicle. Especially the trailer hitches, that are low to the ground and hard to see, even when you don't have any boxes in the car. If your now good at backing up you risk an accident. The storage itself was alright and convenient. They claimed no bugs or rodents would be in the units. I found tons of bugs in mine and they seem to be hopping from other units. I had clothes put away in secure bags and those bugs chewed right through them and ate into expensive clothes. The cleaning lady always speaks rudely about customers infront of customers, she thinks just because she says it in spanish that no one will understand her, well we did and we told her to stop as it was rude af. Im sorry we are putting our things for donation for other families to use and you dont want to do your job. The "owner" Juan was rude to my husband stating they dont offer military rates (for trailers) & spoke condesendingly to him on memorial day. Only to be shown on their very website that there is in fact military rates. There has been times we needed something from storage around 8pm and their system was fully down. Manager was called and nothing ever came about. Overall, we decided to move out fully cause alot of my items were damaged by these bugs they have in their unit. I moved out because my unit along with several other were broken into. Its clear that the security system is not enough of a deterrent to prevent thief or setup in such a way as to catch thieves. In this case it appears it was another tenant on the same floor breaking into other units with impunity. There needs to be cameras on every hall and not just the perimeter and there needs to be motion sensors that set off an alarm if there is movement in the building after hours.Adrian D. | Overall Experience

At the Northridge facility the security system that lets you in-and-out for your storage unit does not work. I had to get out of my storage unit and was not able to get out in a timely manner because I had to constantly be asking them to. Reset their system. I was not able to ever access my storage unit before the office opened because the system was not working. I was told that a management knows that it's broke and that it's been broke for well over a month With no intentions of fixing it. I also spoke to a new customer and he had blocked the door so that he could get in-and-out and said that he was told after he paid. There weren’t enough staff in the building. Only one person working so there was a long wait. Although the desk clerk was fairly nice, she was visibly and audibly frustrated. The system was also down all day and they had to reset it a lot, therefore we were locked out and not able to get to our unit which made the move in process even longer. One Sunday, the elevators were non-functional but Juan took care of that for us. Traffic can be an issue sometimes because of many customers and trucks. I liked the place, staff, prices, cleanliness but i didn't like that i have a reservation done days before actually moving in and went to see the room but then on the day i moved in, they gave me a different room then the one I saw. It was fine for me because i actually liked it more but i would had been mad if it had been the other way around.MV P. | First Impressions
Had a storage unit there for two years, its pricey but worth it. The 24 hr access option as well as the security system made our stuff is easy to access ourselves but hard for others. The loading dock made my move in and move out of the unit a breeze, and I never once regretted choosing this great storage location. The only bad thing I have to say about this place is their corporate rules make some things harder than they need to be. Halfway through my 2 year rental period I lost my key to my unit. Instead of being able to bring a drill from my garage and open up my unit myself, they required me to call a locksmith, who proceeded to try to pick it open for 20 minutes and fail, only to do exactly what I would’ve done myself and drill out the cylinder. $275, to open my unit is absurd, especially when they install hitches at this location, and could’ve grabbed a drill from the shop and opened my unit for me. Absolutely ridiculous. Yes, maybe use a combination lock, it’s less secure, but the security system will protect your stuff more than your unit lock will anyways. I just didn’t do that because I had a habit of giving people my keys to go get something for me and didn’t want them to be able to memorize the code. But sometimes it’s not worth possibly losing the key and spending a months worth of the rental fees on opening up the unit. My overall experience is good but Getting in and out of the storage facility is problematic. Not enough space and ample parking to get around. At worst, you are blocked in waiting for cars or trucks to move of course you have to find these people or alert the staff who are very helpful in resolving—at best, you are able to squeeze between the return stalls.James K. | Overall Experience
