worst experience ever! Had to pass a background check upon renting. Made me have a 3rd party attest to my character. I am an attorney. Female employee was very rude!. Upon returning the truck, tried to return unused boxes. Clearly printed on box were terms 100% buy back guarantee. What a misrepresentation! because I did not have a receipt , they would only give me a store credit. I am moving out of state! Why would I want a store credit? I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Integrate the reservation system with the in transit So to assure that the proper equipment ordered is ready and at the location requested. It is a real inconvenience to be called the day of the rental and be told the equipment will be ready later at a location far from the original reservation site. I had to pay 2 movers for an extra 5 hours to watch my belongings on the curb due to the delay and location change. So the move essentially doubled in cost as a result of the delay caused by UHaul. Jane who called to break the news that the equipment was not ready at the location I had originally reserved was completely unapologetic and did not care that she had increase my expense. She was not willing to offer a discount and said it was â€œfineâ€ that I had been notified in a disclosure that this might happen. I reminded her that the disclosure stated I would get 24 hrs notice not 3 hrs notice. She mentioned she was anxious to call the other families whose equipment was not ready. UHaul needs to fix this problem by either getting more specific with in transit metrics or in busy areas not allow a specific pickup location and giving ample notification of the location and availability of equipment reserved. When I picked up the equipment through the online process seemed to go well. However I did get a call 4 hours later asking if I still needed the equipment. I let the representative know that I had the equipment already. He then stated that he did not see that the pickup was completed. He had to get all my information to complete the Pickup.
First trailer had a safety issue. Second trailer was fine but the ratchets were really rusted and stubborn. A simple spray with some wd40 goes a long way.
Need to improve your customer service
Due to Covid it would be nice to have a representative mroe attentive to the people outside the building who don'tt want to go in. I was pretty much forced to have to go inside even though I was checking in on the app. The app said the truck was ready but I was walking around the parking lot looking for it and couldnt find it. So I had to go inside and ask.
I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO PAY AN AFTER HOURS SERVICE FEE BECAUSE YOUR DAMN WEBSITE DIDN'T WORK AND WOULD NOT LET ME LOGIN AND IT COULD NOT LOCATE ME. NOT MY FAULT!!! MY PHONE WAS SET TO DETAIL LOCATION! SO ITS YOUR SIDES FAULT! I CALLED YOUR OFFICE AND WORKED FOR 40 MINS WITH A WOMAN WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO EXPLAIN ALL THAT IN AN EMAIL TO THE NORTHRIDGE OFFICE!! ALSO YOUR PACKET SAID TO USE UHAUL.COM AND LOGIN TO RETURN THE VAN, THERE IS NOT RETURN FUNCTION ON THAT SITE. YOU SHOULD HAVE UPDATE THAT PAPER WORK TO SAY UHAUL.COM/SHARE, I HAD TO CALL TO FIND THAT OUT. I TRIED EVERYTHING I COULD FOR 30 MINS TO GET IN AND RETURN THE VAN BUT NOTHING WORKED. WHEN I TRIED TO LOGIN IN, IT SENT ME A TEXT CODE, I WAITED FOR IT, THEN I TYPED IT IN AND GOT AN ERROR THAT IT TOOK TOO LONG. THEN IT WOULD NOT LET ME START OVER AGAIN. WOULD NOT EVEN LET ME LOGIN AGAIN, SO I CLEARNED ALL MY COOKIES AND DELETED ALL MY HISTORY AND THAT DIDNT WORK. LOOK I'VE CREATED WEBSITES AND I'VE WRITTEN CODE FOR GAME ENGINES SO I KNOW SOME SHIT ABOUT COMPUTERS, AND YOUR SITE IS CRAP, OR MY PHONE IS. I WANT MY $20.00 BACK. DON JOHNSON 818 731 3515
I felt it quite demeaning and embarrassing that the customer svc rep insisted that I provide an emergency number that he could call and communicate with someone on the spot, out the blue at 8am on a Saturday morning. despite that fact that I have rented from that very location on several occasions with no problems. he told me that was company policy since Jan 2020.. I told him I had just rented from them in June and didn't have to endure such disrespectful contact. Afterall they don't even call references on the spot when you rent cars at the airport when travelling . I told him I live right around the corner on Darby avenue. He claimed the employees who previously rented to me made a mistake and weren't following company policy. He had the nerve to ask me for their names. It was a very embarrassing ordeal just to rent your equipment for a few hours. BUT ALL YOU REALLY CARE ABOUT IS YOUR BOTTOM LINE AND DUMB S*&T ABOUT HOW Clean YOUR EQUIPMENT IS. Rather than the behavior of an employee
THE VEHICLE THAT WE WERE GIVEN TO DRIVE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ON THE ROAD. THE ENGINE STARTED RACING A LITTLE, THEN IT STALLED TWICE WITHIN A COUPLE FO BLOCKS. THE STEERING WAS THE WORST.MY FRIEND WHO DROVE COULD BARELY KEEP IT IN THE LANE.DANGEROUS !!!
A. Have parking on-site so that when a customer rents a van or a truck, there is a place for the customer to leave their own vehicle. B. Be sure the information for the vehicle is accurate. The "out" mileage on my contract wasn't even close to the actual miles on the van (off by thousands of miles), so we had to approximate how many miles I drove. C. If you're going to require that a full tank of gas be in the vehicle upon return, then the vehicle should have a full tank of gas when it leaves the yard. Mine didn't, and I had to take a picture of the tank at 3/4 so I could prove that the tank wasn't full.
I tried making a reservation online then decided to call the location to talk to someone live and got routed to a call center. Not a great user experience off the bat! Tried to explain that I was booking and paying for a reservation in advance and lining up someone else for the in person pick up and driver. It was nearly impossible to get the driver's info on file, and even when I did he had a negative experience upon pick up. He was told his info wasn't on file and was coerced into additional charges that I didn't request upon initial reservation. Very disappointed with the reservation process, but ultimately the cargo van was clean and met our needs.
Easy pick up and drop off, the app is great. It would be great to know in advance that you should bring some extra supporting ID or alternatives thereof in hard copy to upload when picking up with app prior/past business hours. Or change so you can upload photos you already have on your phone.
Provide better customer parking.

The truck had very bad brakes, the interior was very dirty, no one told us there were no tracks out the back to use a dolly.

I was very happy with the service, I was greeted when I returned the trailer by the gentleman that helped me on the day I picked up the trailer, that impressed me. Although this location is a lot further from my home I refuse to go to your Chatsworth location for the reason last time I rented a 10' truck I had a terrible experience with a Carl Espinoza that was working the counter that day he was very rude and unprofessional and made me feel as if he was above all?? Not sure why he was acting that way but for that I would rather drive further and recommend your parthenia location. Thumbs up!
