Ended up using the guy at the counter, the app needs to be improved
TIMOTHY TUnit leaked and damaged furniture and items that were stored . There was often water in front of the units door which you had to stand in.

RICHARD AI rented a vehicle hauling trailer. When loading the vehicle on the trailer I tilted over the fender and noticed one of the tires mostly bald, no tread. I notified the U-Haul attendant when I returned the trailer.
MARC EDrop-off was quick, staff was very helpful. No issues.

JOHN DOverall, I was able to get what I needed done. As far as customer service goes, the most decent service I received was from the girl at the front desk. I think her name was Nathalia. Other than that, the service from the men was subpar. I went into the facility about a week prior to my reservation just to confirm that what I wanted to do would be ok. When I first walked up there was a man at the desk and he didn't even have the decency to greet me or ask what my purpose for coming in was. Even when I said, “I just have a couple questions”. He didn't look up from his phone, just said “ok”. He only looked up from his phone after I asked my question and replied with, “I don't know. My manager will be in tomorrow so you can call and ask then”. Although, I understand he didn't know the answer, his service was awful. When I came in to pick the truck and trailer up, it was much better dealing with the woman. She set me up with another man that would assist us with attaching the trailer to the truck. It was cold and rainy out, so I can completely understand him not wanting to be out there but at the end of the day, making sure we are good to go and all our questions are answered should be important to him as an associate. As soon as he attached the trailer he immediately started walking away. He didn't ask if we had any questions, didn't ask if we were all good, nothing. I had to ask him if he could come back as I was not finished. He looked extremely annoyed when I did this. I have worked in customer service for quite a few years and I confirm that it is not always fun working with the general public, but I was nothing but nice, patient and respectful because again, I know how it is. I feel bad even putting in a negative review but a conversation with these employees would be beneficial. A handful of them clearly do not know how to provide service to customers when they are not being supervised.

I wish I remembered his name so I could give a shout out but his badge did say "owner" on it. He was very easy to work with and made the rental experience a pleasant breeze.
RAYMOND VI booked a 6 x 12 trailer and found out water leaking from the roof under rain weather. One of previous customers who used this trailer, made a big hole at both front corners. Though I left the shop 30 minutes ago, I decided to call them and requested to switch. The next trailer got broken tail lights. Turning signal, brake / hazard lamps were fine, but no lights when I drove after sunset. I had to drive under heavy rain during the night and felt very uncomfortable. Many track drivers gave a horn to me because they were annoyed. People at U-Haul, New Haven were nice and friendly, but they had to check all equipments carefully to keep customers in safe.

RICHARD MKenny Hernandez and his team were all helpful, polite and professional. I bought boxes and the associate who cashed me out carried my boxes to my car. I rented a van as well and everyone I spoke with and that helped me was amazing! Kenny and his team are amazing!!

Entered my info and license photos etc several times only to receive a message telling me to go inside to the counter where I had to re-answer the same questions I already entered online. Ultimately wasted 1/2 hour of time. Next time I’ll skip the “convenience” of the online process and just go right inside. Counter staff was good and I had no complaints about them, or the equipment.
EDWARD SAll three representatives were inept. I asked for pickup availability and said they had nothing. I went on line and booked it immediately upon leaving the facility and went back and they gave me a pickup.. Horrible customer service, not polite and more street trash than Customer Service representatives
CARLOS DJoseph Skehan was very knowledgeable and a great help. He went above and beyond for his customers. Always friendly and polite while engaged in his customer service duties. And for that I recommend this location. Just ask for Joe.

Stephen FOne of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. The staff was rude, combative and unprofessional. I was originally given the wrong keys and had to wait while they redid the entire rental and then the new keys didn't work. The representative started an argument with me that would have been avoided if he had just apologized for having made an error in the first place. When I brought the keys in while dropping the truck off I was told to put them back in the truck. The next day I got a call asking when I was bringing the truck back because they never took the original truck out of the system. Then they sent me the final invoice with a $14 gas charge when I had driven the pickup 10 miles. When I called to complain I got corporate who did take care of the gas charge for me but the promised call from the local manager never came. If you need to rent a truck avoid this location at all costs.

Since I did remembered and wasn’t concerned about my coat 🧥 since I am visiting from Florida and had other coats 🧥 with me I decided to let this one go. The fact of the matter is i should have gotten a courtesy call!!!!
Hector RI should not have to take photos of the truck. Check the plates, fuel and odometer . Doesn’t anyone in the place work. Never had to go through that anywhere.
MATTHEW MAll great with the van and the pick up, but when we returned (5pm), there was no representatives in the office at all - no staff. With about 8 angry people waiting. Only took about 25 minutes, but thought you should be aware that your store was left unattended that long.

I thought this time id do it in person so i don’t have the same problem. Same problem again the lady never put it in the early pick up system. I had to wait a hr & half for them to open.

Finally got in the truck it stunk of cigarettes and the floor was dirty and someone rigged the seatbelt so that they wrapped behind the seats so we had to undo that. Very dissatisfied with this visit.

THOMAS LEvery time I come to uhaul, and I use it often, the process to check out a truck is different. Sometimes they ask for my license, sometimes they don’t. The questions they ask and what they do is SO different each time. I wish it was standard.

DONALD VHad a noon pick up, Walked in, the showroom was empty , Smelled heavy of Marijuana, I walked around for 13 minutes and nobody came to help, finally almost 20 minutes in an employee came from the bathroom, The price was 12 dollars more than I was quoted online, they say oh taxes and fees, What the fuck a recovery fee , apprpximate tax,Yet you charge 17.00 dollars for some shit insurance , as well, get The fuck outta here $0.99 a mile , on top of that , Seriously, I'll never come to this shit location again....

I kept coat on while sorting. I have vacated bin and will use you again. Clean facility. Maybe sign should be changed to have blue zone as 60 degrees and above if your policy changed.

JOHN FAdvise the customer when at the counter that they will be required to take photos of the vehicle’s body & roof conditions prior to leaving the premises. If I had not opened my text messages just before leaving premises it would have been to late after leaving.
JOHN B$318 for wrong drop off. Not once was I told to bring the truck back. If I was even asked I wouldve told them Im picking up bouncy houses and putting them in storage by my house. I was charged 416.89 for a 1 day rental and 68 miles. I would recommend people buy a trailer, lift gate or any other possible option, and pay with credit card to dispute transaction. I bought a pallet jack just to use to bring the bouncy houses back and forth from storage. We were going to use uhauls as part of our business for deliveries because of the ramps but when harbor freight sells trailers for $999 and uhell is 400 a day.

It was already a horrible time having to store my stuff due to separation, but i booked the storage online for an inside unit, upon arrival I was informed that there were no units available. There were only outside units, my movers were there was was costing me $269 an hour so I had no choice as it was late already . The outside unit when we arrived up the hill was wet inside. I was so disappointed and sad I couldn’t help but cry as it was already an emotional day. The worker was very nice and tried to accommodate me as much as he could but I will no longer use uhaul storage because apparently this is common practice for them in Orange.

A very helpful young man was coming out and I mentioned it to home and he went back in and found my card for me and also said he would let the manager know I was checking out. I had a vmail before I got home from the site letting me know they received my message! I also got a confirmation email the next day. Wonderful experience!!!

En E | Overall ExperienceWhile service staff were great, and the check in process was smooth, checking out was a nightmare. A good amount of our personal belongings ranging from furniture, home decor, clothes, footwear etc. were damaged due to what may have been a water leak of some sort due to lack of security of the storage unit. We had a very unpleasant time trying to figure out what had happened, figuring out how to report it, and having to move with soggy boxes and damaged goods into our new apartment. This was our first time utilizing a storage unit and I would not recommend this to anyone or do it again myself. One of my footwear had gotten so wet and damaged there was a ton of mold growing on it! A public health hazard and a mover's nightmare to have to deal with. I was smart enough to have paid for insurance, but with the lack of responsiveness from RepWest and their odd contracting language on what they cover and don't, I am left as a disappointed customer on all fronts. If UHaul won't provide safe, secure units that will protect customers' personal belongings, at least have a well-intentioned insurance available for customers to purchase.

The first day I went in to put my stuff in storage should’ve been when I canceled the reservation all together. I had reserved the biggest storage unit, put a down payment on it online & then they said they only had small ones left.. Then the guy BEHIND me went up to the counter asking for a large one and they miraculously had a large one available for him. So my husband had gotten into an argument with one of the staff members who had threatened him “he’s not the one to play with”.. The staff is rude, unprofessional, immature and definitely not customer friendly. Also, they are not accommodating at all. I got a letter to pay a certain amount by a certain date, when I went to go pay it, they told me I had to pay a completely different amount.. Of course MORE than I expected.. Specifically, $250 more than what I expected to have to pay. I talked to someone from customer service, they gave me different information than the employees that actually work IN the orange location.. and when I told the workers what customer service said and had wrote a note in my account as well, they wouldn’t accommodate that. Seems like *most* of the employees there should be sitting behind a desk, not dealing with customers hands on because they’re incapable of doing so politely and professionally. Definitely wouldn’t recommend giving your money to this location, they don’t value their word at all.

Luckily there was one unit available but had there not been this would have been extremely inconvenient. I was told reservations were not accepted here AFTER being cancelled on, but why then did they allow me to place a reservation? This is a terrible way to conduct business.

Theophilus A | Overall ExperienceI was trying to move my things from the U-Haul in Connecticut to the U-Haul in North Carolina and I ended up needing one extra day to exit the U-Haul in Connecticut and they had no way to work with me on that I tried to get a prorated rate. they wanted the full month and nothing else when I asked if I could just get until 10pm on my last day to have things out they said no I would be locked out of the unit at 7 PM that was not the case when I moved in there. I was for sure loading things at 10 pm. I could not understand if I would’ve been late on my payment I would not be locked out, but because I was requesting an extra day that I was willing to pay for they could not work with me. Well I’m back in NC and decided not to use uhaul and will not use them again for trucks either.

Everyone else tried to tell me Uhaul probably wouldn’t compensate me. But I carried faith with me. Uhaul is one company that still values customer service in a day where it is hard to find. It wasn’t easy for me to lose my high school year book or my children’s’ sentimental belongings but I was respected and felt valued. Thank you again Fred and Uhaul for doing what’s right! Godspeed

I came five days later told this removed teo things out dump area , man call said give me until 5pm. Family return moved items could not get in entry card canceled out. That only complaint . Alma J | Overall ExperienceThe facility is spotless, the unit was spotless. I had to use the bathroom, very clean and well stocked. The directions to get in after-hours were not that clear, it took a few extra minutes for me to get into the building. But once inside, you could tell that this facility was well taken care of. The text I received when I booked the unit said there would be a lock waiting for me in the unit. There was no lock, luckily there was a Target nearby and I was able to purchase one. However, when I went to the office the next day to seek a refund for the lock, the person was unable to help me. She was very professional and took down my information. I was told to come back when a manager was available. The lock was less than $14. I would expect that employees can be empowered to make a $14 decision, especially since I had a receipt and the text stating a lock would be in the unit. I have not had a chance to go back to the office, so I am still out my money. I provided my cell number, no call back. That is why I am rating this just average. Frank Ficaro 203-556-4792
Frank F | Online Move Insome staff have a bad attitude. i got a call last week saying my account wasn't closed out though i gave the building key and my lock key last month. it's not my fault if it was lost. this place needs to be more professional, desperately. and it's impossible to get through the phone for anything.

Found out later same as store hours. I was also unaware that store bought lock was required. I also was not informed that card has to be swipe in and out each time bin door opened or alarm goes off. A safety concern is patrons did not wear masks in shared hallways. Need signage to remind customers to wear a mask. Overall I had a good experience.
