The truck reaked of cigarette smoke. Not sure if it was from a previous rental or an employee but it gave me a headache. As someone who has never smoked it was unacceptable. I seriously considered returning the truck to ask for another truck. If UHaul wants to ding me for $18 for going over mileage they should be charging people for smoking in their trucks. The only reason I selected "No" for the recommendation is UHaul charging me $18 for over mileage when I told them I was going to Gorham first and only dropping off @ Windham because it was the closest place to drop off. No more UHaul when I rent to move to Florida next year. Can't recommend UHaul!Stanley B.

Honestly I enjoyed the workers and the friendly vibe. Only thing I would change is the 24/7 call line there was a man who I spoke with and he wasn't very pleasant! He was rude and I was not very impressed, especially when I rent frequently. Other than that it was very good and I'll be renting again soon!Marsha W.

I had to change my plans and reservations a couple of times. The gentlemen that I dealt with on this day were more than professional and should get a great atta boy pat on the back. Even the owner of the business was very pleasant. The truck was extremely clean, And got great gas mileage. One small not so happy experience I have to mention though. I've had many back surgeries and my help was a disappointment to say the least, so I rented, what turned out to be an appliance dolly. Not a had truck. This dolly is not only heavy and cumbersome, the blade is way to short to move most things that you move when you do move. Honestly, how many appliances do we move anyways. A perfect stranger offered help with my washer, actually went home and got his appliance straps, and HOLY SMOKES, they should either have some ordinary hand trucks available. ( my storage unit had one, and unloading the truck was a snap using the normal hand truck.) I moved away and never used it. I'm grateful that I have experience loading trucks, because the dolly, was the last thing I loaded and 1st thing out. Yes, great place! Super customer service. The owner of this property should be very proud. I'm surely going to use them again. Minus the appliance dolly of course! 😂Neil T.

First off when calling this location you didnt get thru to this location, you got an 800 number who knows where they were. Couldn't talk to anyone on site. The day I arrived at this location with a uhaul truck with my stuff, the guy knew Nothing about the one month free promo. He also didnt seem clear about my unit..where it was. Also when I first arrived No one in store area...took me awhile to hunt someone down that worked there. Also when I went back to get in my unit, and on move out day. Also another customer was in store before me looking for clerk to help them. Very frustrating to have to hunt some down. Again even tho the phone number seem to be for this location, impossible to get to speak to someone at that actual location. (Concerning) my one month free. I live out in the country so every time I reserve a truck with Uhaul, it always gets canceled the day before and I get sent to the Odlin location. I don't know if you do this on purpose, but when you advertise a closer location, then do the "bait and switch" where that person has to spend more time (and gas money) to always go to another location . When I got to this location I was suppose to have a storage ready but it wasn't available come to find out I was 2 days late and didn't know I was suppose to call and change my reservation date. That should have been communicated to me. The women there really had know interest in helping but tried to avoid the situation. That being said had to try and find storage last minute and cost me more money. I've worked customer service and I was floored by the service I got when in fact I would have gone out of my way to do everything I could to help the customer. Very disappointed. Not to mention nobody even tried to compensate me for the inconvenience.David R.

The poor guy working the store alone on a Saturday morning was cheerful, but the line was excessive with a constant 5-6 people waiting for the 30-40 minutes that I waited. They need two people on all morning. He was able to swap out one trailer with bad lights for another, which also turned out to have faulty wiring that flickered all the way to NH. I used the option to process the drop off online and the site froze and I ended up having to start the process over. I got charged an extra day because it was 7 mins past the drop off time. Pretty shitty.APRIL H.
Assistant manager was horrible. Not only was he disrespectful to me as the customer but to his coworker in front of me. On top of the attitude they charged me for the unit when I had reserved online and had a discount for a free month and was only supposed to pay 7.95 but got charged the full month fee. They told me they reversed it once they looked in their system and saw the reservation but now it has be withdrawn from my account not just on hold anymore. Made a reservation for a 15' truck for Belfast, then it was changed by U-Haul to Surry (an hours drive away) in a confirmation phone call. When my sister and father drove to Surry to pick up the 15' truck, they didn't have it. They had to drive another hour to Bangor for a smaller truck. I definitely would NOT recommend U-Haul to anyone after this experience...Leonard P.

Pickup was good. It took a little longer than expected as I needed to repeat all my information after previously giving that information at the time of the reservation. I rented a trailer and one of the reps hitched the trailer on my truck for me. The problem I had was upon the return. I wanted to simply drop it off and leave. There was a long line inside and was told I would be helped after they took care of the line. I waited almost an hour before I noticed a small sign for contactless drop offs. This would have been good to know when I first picked up the trailer, it was never mentioned. I went to the app and found it to not be so easy. The app required pictures to be taken and when I got to the part of location, I had to walk around to the other side of the building to scan the barcode. This begs the question as to why there is not a location barcode at the return area of the building. Once I scanned the barcode and took multiple pictures, the same rep who had me waiting on the line then told me to leave the equipment and he would check me out when he was done. This only made me wonder why he didn't tell me that in the first place. I then had trouble unhitching the trailer since I did not put it on when I picked it up. I had to find the how to remove part in the app. I ended up completing the return and payment on the app that again I wish I knew about when I picked it up. I think your employees need to understand most people do not use their trucks and trailers often and should be informed on some of the useful information I mentioned above.tim D.

I made a reservation to pick up a Uhaul truck on October 19th at 9:00 AM in the town of Hancock, ME. It's a location 9 miles from where I lived. The day before pick up I was told the truck would not be available until 4:00 PM. In order to use the movers I had arranged, I drove an hour to get a truck that showed up in Bangor, ME.JOE H.

Gas tank should be full when you pick it up and then fill it when you bring it back. Otherwise it's a bit of a guessing game. Plus when they say it has 1/2 and it's actually a little less that 1/2, which adds up $$$ Not a reflection on the location, which was great and I would surely recommend using them ! The girl I spoke to when making my reservation was super nice, polite, had a great sense of humor, yet remained professional and on point. Keep her !Peter C.

This equipment was in extremely poor condition, transmission would not shift (no, it was not in "tow" mode), loud clanking turning corners, defrost fan worked only intermittently, no cab or box lights, driverside door gasket peeled off and fell off in the middle of a drenching rain storm, door hinge area on both sides damaged and worked roughly, provided rear padlock would not lock, facility personnel were 2 hours late arriving the morning I returned for help... and they gaslighted me entirely because "there were no Dashboard warning lights" to PROVE there was anything wrong. This equipment needs to be taken out of circulation and the office personnel needs professionalism training. The equipment was a 20-ft moving truck.Shari H.

Drove 18 hours from North Carolina and got to the u-haul. The reservation with the customer service people on the phone apparently had been all sorts of messed up. The general manager over the other store across town as well as another gentleman both named Matthew were both very accommodating. They gave me another unit at the store down the road and hook me up on the price for the inconvenience. When I got there the one that they sent me to actually had a lock on it already but even the staff at the other location were amazing about jumping right on that and getting us into an open unit. Matthew at the desk was absolutely exceptional with communication and even apologize a few times like it was his own fault. I honestly wish I had employees like him. Due to this incredibly misleading system and the blatant lies in your confirmation email, I drove to with a U-Haul truckload of furniture to a storage unit that was not available. U-haul rented me a parking spot in their parking lot for $65 per month. U-haul deducted $65 from my account for 24 months. Someone cut the catalytic converter off my passenger van. U-haul said they're not responsible because they don't rent parking spaces in their parking lot. If that is the case then why did U-haul rent me the spot and why did U-haul take money out of my account each month?
