I agreed with the store to have the truck back by 6pm on 10/14/21 and that there would be no charge. The truck was back at 555pm and I was charged 42.54. I called uhaul and now I have to wait 3 -5 business days for the refund. This is a financial inconvenience. We spent almost 2000.00 to move and are low on funds. We need every penny right about now so no, I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION AT ALL BECAUSE OF THEIR LACK OF INTEGRITY!KIMBERLY J.
The uhaul truck needs to have the front end alignment desperately on it and the steering wheel was very off center and brakes were a bit squishySCOTT C.
Remove or reduce the absurdly high Vehicle Coat Recovery fee on utility trailers. It is applied only at checkout, never mentioned earlier. It is misrepresented by the location's staff, whom I believe are lied to by either the site manager or, worse by u-haul corporate. It is a scam to contend that a single-axle open trailer costs anywhere close to $2x365days = $730/year for doc and reg fees: the only legal justification for VCR charges sanctioned by state statute. https://www.cga.ct.gov/current/pub/chap_228h.htm Without action by uhaul, a class action law suit is in order.WILLIAM M.

I entered the store to a staff member and a customer in a yelling match. No one was at the truck return stall. I asked for help with the tow dolly, as it's hard for one person to do the necessary steps because it was so creaky and got stuck a lot. I was told that no one at the store is trained to help with that equipment. So U-Haul doesn't train employees on their own equipment? I thought this was ridiculous. I managed to undo the tow dolly with a lot of pulling and yanking. I wish there were more options than U-Haul. If other companies' trucks were available, I would have went with them.Madeline S.

lighting and signage for equipment drop off at this location was very poor. I dropped equipment off at 730 pm on 9/28/21 and there were NO lights on in the entire parking lot. This is not only a safety issue but Entire parking lot should be lit up from dusk to dawn. I tried using my headlights and cell phone light but it was inadequate to find the correct spot for equipment drop off and slot for truck key.RICHARD K.

There is no direct phone line to the business. I waited 10 minutes for an attendant to check me in when I returned. The paperwork was unclear which caused me to put too much gas in the vehicle than necessaryPAUL M.
I was once able to rent vehicles in Bristol CT; now they have little available. When i arrived at the plainville location, it was difficult for a newcomer to figure out where to enter the UHaul location. and then not clear where the rental customer entrance is. and when i went out to the lot to find my cargo van, it was not clearly marked nor was i told exactly where to find the vehicle. it is a large lot.JAMES A.

Spoke to the store before leaving to extend my time and they said that would be fine. The gentleman said he changed it. It did not indicate that on the invoice. Your employees were extremely polite excellent customer service clean center clean vehicle the only improvement I could tell you is to Have lights in the parking lot I arrived back around 8:30 pm and the lot was completely pitch black there was no light I did not know I needed photos of the odometer and on my way back to the truck to take the photos I tripped on the curb that is around the grass in the front of the store. Honestly the service was excellent I don't want to take away from how great and helpful my agent was. maybe the lights come on later in the night I am not sure if they are on a timerTONYA B.

I paid $154 for just the installation of the wiring. They barely put my trunk back together, and they kept the wiring in the trunk of my car. And then proceeded to ask me what the problem was when I said that I'll just put my own trunk back together myself thenZachary B.

this is the second time they tried to give me this van. Both times the tire light was on and I was told its the sensor. The first time they gave me a different van but this last time they said they couldn't. They added air and tada the light went off. Sadly the light went back on and I had to return it early instead of being able to use it one more day. My concerns on the tire light being on was dismissed. I was brushed off that it just a sensor. The delivery of my U- boxes was very disorganized, no one could tell me until the day before when they would be delivered which made it very difficult to plan for helpers to come for the move. When calling the scheduling facility, they were not very friendly. The only staff that was very friendly and helpful was the delivery truck person herself. She was very sweet and communicative. I also was very upset with the delivery of my U-Box to the home. There was no availably for them to deliver the boxes for the week I asked and they informed me it would have to be the next week. Which was fine, however, then I ended up getting charged for the whole more of September when they were dropped off the day after the autopay went through. I called to speak you someone and to my surprise no one had returned my phone calls. I don't think I'll be using uhaul again.bliss D.

I returned my rental late at night and didn't complete the online check-in. I expected to be charged $20 for the staff to confirm the check in the next day as per agreement. In July I rented RV Space 175, which was a 12 x 42 ft. RV space. Shortly there after I was transferred to Florida and had to check out of that space. After arriving in Florida my company canceled the relocation due to COVID and I quickly realized that I needed to contact the U-Haul location and reserve a space. I called and asked to speak with Tim or Mike so that I could explain my situation, but was told that the representative would send Tim an email with my contact number and proceeded to create a reservation for a 42 ft spot. My reservation number was 924074-00106151 and when my wife arrived yesterday the person at the counter said that my reservation could not be found, and there were no 42ft spaces available. My wife then was told that 37 ft space or there was nothing that they could help her with. My wife paid the fee and was told that there were zero gate fobs. I have used UHaul before for RV storage. I have made my reservation in advance and my spot was held for me. Imagine my surprise when I walk in, on the day I am suppose to drop off my RV to find that I to be told that my reservation has been cancelled (turns out they only cancelled inside storage ones) but that my spot had not been held. This meant I needed to pick a new spot. This is a challenge for a mom who now has to back in an RV with her 3 children guiding her. Looking at and selecting a spot took 45 minutes, while actually getting in the spot took another 45 minutes. (This is in addition to my original stop to meet with the manager to select a spot when I made my first reservation.) If you are not going to maintain site selection, please notify customers of that in advance. In the past I used to make my reservations months in advance and my site would be held. This time it was not. Please do people the courtesy of informing them in advance if that is going to be the case.Renee E. | First Impressions

I found setting up the auto-pay confusing online as it looked like it was set up and then I was charged a fee for missed payment my first month. I was able to call and had great customer service to get set up for auto-pay, and also have that fee reimbursed.
