I dropped off the ten foot truck after hours on a Sunday evening. I followed up with a phone call Monday morning. The app did not work as advertised. As soon as the App recognized the location of the vehicle was the approved drop off location it required no further info - photos, mileage, etc.

dora p | First ImpressionsWhen I picked up the vehicle on the morning of 2/23, all went well. Daniel was great, provided really good customer service and had me on my way. However, returning the truck was an issue. Roxanne, however is who I dealt with bringing the truck back and she is super rude. She does NOT need to work with people and needs to be in the back away from the public or something. She got mad because I parked the truck at the gate. There are literally signs that say “Equipment Return” and when returning, to sit in the equipment for assistance during business hours. I sat there for a minute and no one came out so I went inside. She asked if I was returning a truck and where I parked I said it’s right in front of the gate. She starts going off about how it will cost a fine and I can’t park there, blah blah. I told her I was just following the directions on the signs but I could move the truck and that it was not a big deal like she was making it out to be. The truck was moved and when I returned the keys, I told her she needs to work on her customer service. I told her she may not have realized her tone but it was very rude. I also found out today that she was rude to my brother when he returned a u-haul truck a few months ago for the EXACT same thing. If you all do not want people to return equipment there, wouldn’t it make sense to move the signs? It’s not rocket science.

Darrell OI have been a customer at this U-Haul location for a few years up to this date. I have always had a good experience there until this most recent rental experience. The U-Haul employee named "Roxanne" made the customer experience a negative one because when Roxanne drove the vehicle out of the gate and parked to hand me the keys, I then looked around the vehicle and inside of the vehicle. I noticed that the vehicle seats and floor boards of the driver and passenger areas were dirty and the back cargo floor area was filthy, besides dirty with debris and dry dirt/muddy areas but torn area on the padded floor covering as well. I informed Roxanne that I am surprised to see the inside of the cargo van so dirty. Roxanne said it is because that U-Haul location recently hired a couple, a husband and wife, the husband is a black man and his wife is white, they are lazy and don't do any work, and she has to do all of the work when she comes to work her shift. And Roxanne said she does not like the couple. I was surprised to hear Roxanne talk negatively about her co-workers, to me (a stranger to her) and I was just there to rent a cargo van, not to hear her complain about her co-workers. Then I was attempting to take photos of the van on the app, however an error message appeared and I could not upload the photos of how the van looked before I took it with me. Roxanne said it was too many photos so it will not upload, and I told Roxanne that there were no more photos than what the app allowed so that did not add up to the excuse she gave. So I told her I will use my phone camera to take photos before I leave. And I asked Roxanne why is there a loose dolly laying in the van. Roxanne said, see that is what I was talking about, it's that couple who work here, that is an example of them leaving work for her to do, they don't clean the van and they didn't take the dolly out of the van either. I said, "I don't need it, because I have two flatbed dolly's that I will use for moving items to the van." And I said I will put a tarp down over the floor of the cargo van so that my things will not get dirty because of the dirt inside of the van. Then Roxanne said the dolly can stay in the van and she will get it out when I bring the van back. Then I said, "I don't need it and what if she is not at work when I bring the van back and her co-workers might think I wanted the dolly and they charge me for it even though I will not be using it?" Then Roxanne said, "don't worry about it, I will fix their paperwork an make sure your bill is correct." Roxanne also exchanged cell phone numbers with me. When I called her to ask if I can extend the timeframe to keep the van longer, she first responded with, I can speak with her after 3:00 PM. Then she would not speak with me at all. And she would not speak with me anymore. So I called U-Haul and spoke with the lovely couple (her co-workers) who she spoke negatively about. They were very kind, professional and friendly... they gave a good feeling, sincere, trustworthy experience over the phone and when I eventually met them in person I could not believe Roxanne could have spoken badly about them like she did. And I told them about the experience when I first arrive there to rent the U-Haul, as well as showed them photos. And Tiffany informed me that I would receive a survey and I could express my experience within the survey for feedback. If Roxanne would have followed through with good customer service from the beginning until I returned the van, then this survey would not had revealed what happened. And I would not have informed her co-workers about the experience that I had. And it appears Roxanne was setting me up, to make it appear that the van was clean and I asked for the dolly and U-Haul employees would not had known what the truth was about Roxanne's behavior and unprofessionalism. Therefore I rate "Roxanne" a 1 star "Poor" customer service. And I rate Tiffany and her husband 5 Star "Excellent" customer service.

Kijana T | Overall ExperienceDO NOT RENT A STORAGE UNIT FROM THIS PROPERTY! Or if you do, DO NOT PUT CARD ON FILE FOR AUTOPAY! I moved out of my unit on Feb 1 and my payment was due on the 3rd of each month and automatically taken out. When I moved out, I submitted my move out and it said it was pending approval, I went ahead and removed my credit card on file as well. Well today (Feb 4) I wake up to a receipt from uhaul thanking me for my transaction! I pulled up my account on file to get the number to call and I saw that my move out was still pending and checked again if my card may have still been on file and it wasn’t. I called them and spoke with Tiffani and she tried telling me that it was auto draft in error and they refunded my money. I asked her how if my card was not on file!? I went back thru my previous transactions and all those receipts say AUTOPAYMENT but this recent one was an actual receipt with Tiffani’s name on it and NOWHERE does it mention autopayment. I think what they did, they saw my account was “past due” cause they haven’t processed my move out yet, so they went to past transactions to get my card info and ran the payment. I’m including the past receipts and the most recent receipt to show I’m not lying. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR STORAGE!

CAMECA HThe attendant place a $160 hold on my card for a trip that was estimated to be less than $60! Then when I received the receipt, I was charged $30 for a ‘rental rate’ and $30 for a ‘rental charge’. I was also charged $15 for the ‘safe move’ that I opted out of. As I type this it has been over 24 hours and I have yet to be reimbursed the rest of the money that was held. The vehicle was returned properly, replaced gas and was only used for 2 hours. I will never recommend this location or U-haul to anyone ever again. The holding charge and hidden fees are egregious and scam worthy. And calling U-haul wasn’t very helpful either.

DZENAN AI drove a 15' moving u-haul truck 10 miles. Before returning the truck I filled the gas to full. I added 4.828 gallons of gas @ $2.89 /gallon. $14.00 total payment. I pointed it out to the agent when I was checking the vehicle back in, offered her the receipt so she could make a copy. There was no credit offered for this extra expense. Very disappointing.

The guy behind the counter took the key but was talking to someone else at the desk. I asked if I needed to sign the truck in or if there was any paperwork to do. He said no and that I would get a receipt in my email later. I was surprised to discover I had been charged for an additional day upon receiving the receipt. I called in and explained what happened and was given a reference number. 5105431. I haven't heard back regarding the situation yet. Totally uncalled for! I should not have been charged for the extra day. I should have been given a refund immediately rather than U-Haul sitting on it. I haven't gotten to any of the online services to voice my concerns yet. Yet.

RHONDA LYour on line app suggested a $94 dollars savings if you were to return the truck to 3901 N. Central Expy in Plano location so I took that option. But when the truck was returned the young lady immediately stated that this was not her truck. I informed her that my signed contract said to drop it off there. She said again this is not my truck you were supposed to drop the truck off in McKinney,Texas in which I had never agreed to. Then she said there would be an extra charge for dropping off the truck at her location. I asked her how much would it be and she stated that she didn't know. So we asked if there was any body else that we could talk to and she said no she was just an employee that works there. She also stated that I should have received a text while I was in transit of moving stating that my drop off location had been changed. I checked my phone while in the store and there were no such text. I have always viewed U-Haul as a straight forward company and the drop off made me feel like I was being scammed out of the $94 dollars that was on your website. Please take the time to review your savings for drop off on your website. The young lady in the U-Haul store needs a refresher course in your company rules and policies. The young man at the Gun Range is exactly the type of professional employees you need in all your stores.
BARBARA HThis location was previously very proffessional and on point, lately they just don't seem to care. My rental was to have some equipment that I added and paid for on line, it was missing, yet I was still charged for it even after alerting them upon returning my truck. The people working here didn't want to speak to me when I returned my truck, just treated me like a number and directed me to leave the keys, didn't even greet me with a simple hello. Seemed very rude and unproffessional to me. The person was watching videos on their phone not even working. This is the same person whom I alerted that my equipment was missing and she said she would take care of it, but surprise never did, guess I needed to send her a tiktock video.

I called to request the closing contract she insisted that she had Texted the information to me via both phone and email. So, I went back to the location where I Rented from and Roxanna found the Problem My name was Put into the system wrong and phone number The system had my Email address wrong Also. The Difference in Customer Service was Roxanna simply asked The Following : Mrs Harris How do you Spell your Name and what is your phone number again? And May I see your I.D again? Once she Looked at my I.D Roxanna was Able to assist me With getting me connected to Belinda Thomas who Then Emailed me A Closing Contract! But Brandy Even stood firm to the end that she Text me a copy and sent a Email that Absolutely went out in the air to Some nonexistent Customer she should be ashamed of herself! But thank you , U—Haul for Hiring Roxanne At Central Express Way because she was willing to go The Xtra Mile When Brandy and Even Her Supervisor who got on the line listening to the Call didn’t Even Give “a Dam about how I was Service “. All of the Dispatch calls at this number 972-436-6017, Should be Recorded and Listened to You would be very Surprised at what would Transpire on the call by way of Communication with a Customer while Your staff are Rendering Customer Service. But, again not all locations are unpleasant or Acting Unprofessional such as Central Express way They Rock Every Day They are Exemplary at Rendering Customer Service Way to go Roxann Nair. The facility had difficulties getting access to a truck with the computer system after the third truck they called in the manager and she rented us a truck and when we got home we looked at the email contract guess what they rented us the wrong truck on the contract. Wrong stock number wrong license plate number wrong mileage wrong gas tank amount…. My wife called CS and talked to them 1.5 hours and I took pictures of the issues. Also they said they don’t rent furniture dollies one way anymore what’s up with that??? When we tried to drop off the truck in Illinois another bag of problems surfaced they had to call CS again. Wrong stock number wrong license number wrong mileage wrong gas amount. CS told the drop off location to put down the wrong mileage on the wrong truck so the computer system will accept the check in. They said that they don’t care about the next time the truck is rented that’s the next person’s problem with the wrong mileage on the wrong truck. What a way to run a business

Karanjit KTruck did not have a cruise control as promised. I was the only person there. It took 45 minutes because the CSR to process my paperwork and when she went to get my truck she found it to be dirty and switched me to another truck. I carry 2 phones, one for business and one for personal. She saw that and said "oh Mr. Big Shot you carry 2 phone" I said yes, she said "one for you business and one for your girlfriend and whores". I log an complaint with corporate not about the comment but the fact that I had to drive nearly 800 miles without a cruise control. The Mgr Bobbi reached out to me and said she would investigate about giving me a credit. I have left several messages and she had not returned my calls.
ROBERT GYOU NEED MORE THAN ONE EMPLOYEE!!!!! I waited over 1 1/2 hrs to check in a vehicle and rent a unit. I got there about 5:10 and didn’t leave until minutes before 7:00. The lady was working alone. I had to wait for her to return from being on the property. I called the number on the door and it went to some guy in Allen. Calls beginning 5:11p through 5:18p. This location needs more than one employee. Each time I’ve used this location there was a wait. The lady was nice and remained professional but your system kept shutting down the activation of my account. Then when she finally got past a certain point, it wouldn’t allow her to move forward. I checked my email, there was a “complete online” message, attempted to do that and the page wouldn’t even open. I attempted to check in on the app while she assisted the next customer, the app wouldn’t allow me to check in there. The unit assignment had been given, when she tried to enter information, it disconnected or something then she had to start all over. This went on about 4-5 times. It was absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!

GUSTAVO DI could never get a hold of anyone in the office, even when I had the main customer service line request a call back for me twice. Whenever I did speak to someone they never never the answer and their manager never called back like the employee said they would. Also had an issue with getting a red lock put on our unit because we were told at first that we could use our own lock and then they claimed to call but neither of us ever got calls. The communication and employee knowledge is so horrible here. Giving 2 stars only because all our items were safe and clean when we moved out and check out was simple

BRYAN MI'm a frequent renter, this location is usually on top of everything. This time I rented a van it was brand new, excellent experience.
RACHAEL BTaking photos of my driver's license did not go well. Tried several times, it seemed to work, but the counter person said it didn't. Also, issues using the app for the the after-hours drop off photos. I would take a photo, select the green check box, and the app would just sit there. Then I would get out and back in the app and it would move to the next photo and the same thing would happen. Finally it went to the home page and I'm not sure I completed the return process!

RANDALL HI had my storage for practically a decade. The majority of that time, up until my last few months, the light was out above my particular unit. However, I believe that was probably a unique situation. Also, I never really complained or else it may have got fixed much sooner. Other than that, the staff was great, the facility was top notched, and if I ever did need storage again, I would most likely go back to that location.

There’s no way someone could call for 5 hours and not get a response.

James AUpon final inspection after trailer being hooked up, I noticed a nail in a well-worn tire. Another tire on opposite side of the trailer was at wear bars and should have been replaced. Other two tires were almost new and ready to roll. Manager sent me to bigger center nearby and they replaced the two tires with new ones. well taken care of but should have been noticed prior to renting. very nice folks to work with and will return as needed to this location.

Monica GAgain, not deep enough. The drop off was great, but then after receiving our final bill I noted we were charged for an extra day. The U-Haul in CA said that day was for free. Guess it wasn’t. Must be a U-Haul racket to get another $55 out of is. Next time we will know better.
Derek GBe careful of this place. While the lady that I spoke with was nice, she didn't inform me of an after-hours charge for me not checking in the vehicle. They were rushed/busy when I first arrived. I didn't need the vehicle overnight, and asked would it make a difference if I dropped it off or brought it back at 7am when they opened. Was told it was up to me. So when I called a lady answered, I inquired as to the charge and was told it was because I didn't check it in. I explained i wasn't told that or I would have brought it in this morning because I live 5 mins away. Then she hit me with the "its on the contract". Her tone let me know that this isn't the first time someone has called about this charge. "if you would have checked it in, you wouldn't have been charge." If I was fully informed about check in and that if I didn't check it in I would have been charged, I would have checked it in or just waited to bring it back in the morning. All I can say is be careful. It's the extra fees that get you.

I was told this location is a drop off point and I should go to 13637 N Central Expy Dallas, TX. I arrive at the 13637 N Central Expy location. Miranda Kelso, the Center Storage Manager assigned me a storage unit that when I went to put my things in found to have a lock on it. Once I informed Miranda Kelso she offer me a 10' x 20' non climate controlled versus the 10' x 15' climate controlled unit I had rented. Miranda explained she had nothing else available and until she got the lock situation taken care of she could not give me the previously assigned storage unit. I called the UHaul 800 number to get help and they worked to find me storage at this Plano location.

I asked for it when I moved out and nobody could find it.

Not nice. Also, we had a dinning table stored there but on moving out we didn't see it. No signs of break in or forced entry but mysterious a heavy durable office table disappeared.

I was finally given a reservation at the location I requested for a drive up unit. Upon arrival the type of unit I requested was not honored by either manager Scott or Bobbi when I arrived at the Plano Allen location. I was instructed to call the Uhaul customer service line where I AGAIN waited in access of 20 minutes on hold. The customer service representative AGAIN booked a drive up unit first month free, added my credit card for automatic billing, said I was set to go. I returned to the counter where I was delayed once AGAIN when the manager couldn’t initiate the contract that was started by customer service. After he (Scott) made several calls for help and almost TWO HOURS later he gave me a unit and asked me to return after my HIRED guys unloaded and he should have the help he requested to complete the contract. After unloading a full truck the contract still had not been done properly. I received a call the following day where I had to give all of my credit card information AGAIN to initiate the contract! How many people, calls and hours should it take to perform a service? I paid my guys for hours of waiting around and then paid to finally unload my truck! Time is money! To say I am beyond frustrated, tired and outdone would be an understatement! Very poor customer service and no desire was apparent to obtain customer satisfaction! Hopefully something positive will come from this rental experience moving forward.
Monya D | First ImpressionsThere was a ton of misinformation... not everyone is on the same page, at this location. There were offers made that were incorrect and/or not verified. This led to us having to quickly move items... with only a few days notice. The storage unit that we were told was good through the end of March, because of our multiple vehicle rentals, ended up only being good until February 28th (which still wasn't the 30 days that we were told was the contract period). We called and were assured it was fixed and we'd receive a follow up call. It wasn't and we didn't. The next call was about a week later telling us that the rental period was up. Receipts weren't emailed and couldn't be printed. The manager was nice but that didn't fix any of the issues we had to try to figure out due to their mistakes. This unit was much smaller and almost three times the price of one we found at another location with a much smoother process/better communication/ extended hours. If you've got time and money to waste, this is your place. If not, be warned.
