Our reservation was a 9:00 am. There was a long line and the shopped opened late. Additionally there was a problem with the link to supply the pictures of the truck and odometer. Since the truck was parked so close to other vehicles there was no way to stand back far enough to get good pictures. We did not actually get on the road with the truck until 10:00, which means the pick up process was an hour long. This shop probably needs more people checking customers in.

Don’t charge me for fuel when I filled up the tank. If I pick it up with 5/16th & return with 5/16th, I shouldn’t be charged $17 for fuel. Smh

This place is fine. The original place my uhaul took me to apparently was this place "2367 India St San Diego, CA 92101 United States" was terrible. The lady was an absolute monster. I walked in and she started yelling at me to not break her door and she was yelling we're not going to take your trailer you need to call uhaul. so I did and then a few minutes later she came out of her building all confrontational yelling at me to move and leave and she called a tow to come get me and she started recording me. I wasn't even blocking her parking lot. well either way it didn't matter cause we left and found the actual location. but uhaul needs to sever ties with that location. she was so unprofessional and rude and I will never be using uhaul again because of her. I know they are a 3rd party, but still, they shouldn't say they can accept one thing and then go ballistic and get confrontational when you try to use their services.

We had to jump the truck 5 times, had to pay for an extra day because of that, and we got to the point where we couldn’t shut the truck off to fuel it up. We should get some kind of partial refund for the issues.

I use U-Haul a lot for my business and nearly every single time this location screws me over. I reserve well in advance and then when I show up they never have the van I have reserved. This last time was particularly bad as I called to confirm before arriving and then yet again no van. I asked about reservation guarantee policy and the man was so incredibly rude and patronizing. The only good employee at this location is Jesus who helped me out upon my return.

Check in and equipment staff were helpful, accommodating and friendly. The office staff seemed to be a bit lazy; they were more concerned with getting off work in a timely manner than helping the paying customers in front of them.

The uhaul was covered in dirt. Sounded terrible like it needed maintenance. The people working were incredibly slow and angry looking. Except for the manager, he was okay. You guys advertise cheap rentals but I ended up paying over $250 just for a day truck. I will not be doing this ever again and I will tell everyone to avoid U-Haul and go to Penske.

Truck windows were dirty and had to use the wipers to clean it and leaves smudged the window so I stopped at a gas station to clean them. The ramp in the back would not slide out so I had to lift the items and put them in the box. When I got home I had to use WD-40 to lubricate the ramp and still was hard to slide out and in. I was charged an extra $14.38 for extra milage and that was used to go to a gas station to clean the windows and an auto part store to buy WD-40. The fact that the truck didn't have enough fuel to make it back to my destination and had to go out of my way to get fuel was also disappointing. I wish all the trucks came with a full tank of gas and then all I have to do is fill it up when i return it. Definitely was a better experience renting from Penske and Home Depot. Location was what made me rent from Uhaul.

I had a hitch installed in my 2026 Nissan rogue, by Dalton at The Point Loma location. That was an outstanding experience, as Dalton was extremely friendly super efficient and did a great job with the install. I highly recommend this location.

Not have the truck covered in bird shit upon delivery. Make sure the tires are balanced, particularly in the front. Make sure the truck starts properly. The truck we rented was filthy, out of balance and the starter is going to fail soon.

Inside of vehicle was dirty, dusty. Outside staff was exceptionally rude and seemed miserable. Return was unclear, and Uhaul kept blowing up my phone at 1030pm about the after hours drop off. I also had to trade in for a van because the 10ft box doesn't have back up cameras. This should be standard in all vehicles. This location is also in a sketchy area with enormous homeless encampment.

My truck was left with a key on it I drove all the way home and realized I couldn’t access the truck. Called the office in Point Loma and the young man offered me options and drove the key to me so I could continue with my loading process. This was the best thing he could have done. Thank you so much and I’m so appreciative of the employees you have there.

Overall, it was an OK experience. But I had to ask for the windshield to be cleaned so I could see out. Also, the big latch on the cargo door didn't close easily. This latch was more difficult than any others I've rented.

I don’t know what happened or who did it but U-Haul changed for the better if not the best - at least on my experience 2026 . Born in the in the 70s 2026 rental experience at U haul FAR exceeded expectations. Real live Staff was courteous acted like they loved there job and liked to work their- clean truck was Ran like it was well maintained everything worked ! I couldn’t believe it ??? My experience picking up and dropping off was extremely easy- don’t change a thing ! Scale 1-10 I give you all 11 ! I don’t know who changed U Haul - everything from Customer Service , clean and maintained truck , a user friendly app professional friendly live Customer Service I would recommend it to a friend and I actually do as a far exceeded my expectations. Keep in mind I was born in the 70s and it’s a big difference from using them in the 90s and early 2000s. Great experience and the app seems to be user-friendly and I’m not very tech savvy. Please never change your live customer service real people who answer your questions over phone courteous polite and well trained. Thank you ! This is based off my experience 2026 !

To begin with, the exorbitant fee of $165 per month for the smallest storage locker is outrageous. Moreover, the lack of assistance on-site adds to the frustration, and I found myself in a predicament when I got trapped in the parking lot due to a poorly placed truck. In addition, I opted for a Ubox rental, where the reservation process involves specifying both pick-up and drop-off locations. However, the initial quote only covers pick-up and storage, conveniently omitting the drop-off fee. This deceptive practice led to my moving cost doubling unexpectedly. This misleading approach is especially disheartening given the already significant expenses associated with moving. The situation worsens as they establish a separate reservation using the card details from the original reservation and automatically charge it. Opting for a local moving company seems like a more reliable choice compared to falling victim to the practices of these unscrupulous corporate entities.

In the past, office staff at Point Loma Uhaul were very grumpy with my son Jacob who desperately needed to access storage but was often denied without paying an extra $20, even though my auto draft payment went through each month for $125 for a teeny tiny unit I have moved my items to a much larger unit at a different company for $100 per month. It is also climate controlled. Will never store with U-Haul again.

+ very expensive for the tiniest unit, ++ at move out I was denied -prorate- customary for this industry and I want my money back for the days I haven t used the unit +++ and I was asked do u want to keep the 'lock' which apparently I paid for too .. instead of that heavy lock I could have brought my own

While over the phone I asked if there was a storage room as a big as the 10 ft truck and was told yes. To my surprise when opening the storage it was not as big. Luckily I was able to put most of my items in with great difficulty.

I came months ago with a small balance due. The manager, the dreaded man with a horrible attitude wouldnt let me pay in full and cut my own lock. I could not afford the locksmith at the time and since the bill doubled. Now i was left with a $945 bill which i could not pay, had to settle and only by the support of Rick was able to keep my moms belongings. I have paid over $5500 in bills to this uhaul and was treated so poorly im left with a negative impression about this facility and can never use uhaul again. I was told i could remove the items by 10pm. The same dreaded man came back ,with a dog , smelling like marajuana telling me i had to be out by 8:30 or "as soon as he felt like it". The same man doubled my bill and completely ruined my understanding of customer support. If anyone pays for a unit for 5 years, balance ready in hand, i think they deserve the support to fix the situation right then. This man was horrible and ended up costing uhaul an immediate payment and closing and instead created a long settlement. Nobody benefited from his horrible customer service skills and he should be fired immediately. How many customers has he done this to? I will be following up on this review personally as i have no intention to leave any past dues unpaid. I just want to make sure nobody else has to ever deal with the situation i had. Im so sorry for who ever reads this but i hope it gets back to the dreaded man at the point loma uhaul. He is a disgrace to the local community has no belonging in any managerial role.

The teams at both pick band drop off were beyond excellent. Friendly, kind. The Santa Clarita location was clean. The person signing up up was so great. Her crew not so much. Seems she was doing everything. I would hire her, but not the crew...stand around do least amount of work impression. The San diego drop off Point Loma crew were so great, I mean excellent! Greeted with smile, beyond helpful. I would hire them, they were that good...in other words....keep them! Except for app check in, UHaul on this trip exceeded expectations.

The staff at your midway location were amazing. I was already having a ruff day when I went to rent the uhaul. The staff there were so incredible that they totally turned my mood around. The went above and beyond to accommodate me. They interacted well together and provided some of the best customer service I've r er received in a very long time. Overall a really great experience. Robin and Jeremy did everything to make sure I was taken care off and found a great spot for my moving out for the trailer. Dalton was the one really going above by helping position the trailer just right and making sure I didn't have to cross the incoming truck lane. I would recommend others the facility and going with u-haul as their storage and moving supplies solution.
