Clean truck better it smelled like cigarettes and I had a check engine light on and it ran like crap plus there was no key for the lock on truck which cost me not being able to make it on time to clear out storage so I'm pretty dissatisfied with how the rental went

After I left the Midway pickup location and arrived at the furniture store to pick up the purchases, which is the reason I rented the U-Haul, I found a lock on the back lift up door so I was unable to pickup the furniture. I had to go to Home Depot and purchase deadbolt cutters to remove the lock. This all happened at the end of the day, so I had to rebook my overnight and come back to the furniture store the next day. In addition, the truck has no shocks or suspension, the shaking while driving was so rough it broke two of the furniture items and this was freeway driving, not off road or rough areas. When I called your main phone number I was told it would take 90 minutes for someone to come cut the lock off. The last time I rented at this location the previous truck, the AC only worked on full blast and no other settings and the seat was broken. You really should do better, I have taken the time to share this information with everyone I know tellling them NOT to use U-Haul.

Posted on yelp: I really don't ever do this, but my experience here was too bad not to share. I picked up a uhaul this morning and in the time my boyfriend and I had driven to our old place and packed up all our things, the uhaul would not start. We were told that it would have to be towed - which is obviously frustrating when moving, but not necessarily U-Haul's fault. Where I take issue is the way the people working at the desk treated me when I came back to get a NEW uhaul. I didn't come in yelling or even all that frustrated, just explained my situation calmly and expressed my desire to get a new truck. The two associates working there, who I won't name by name, showed less than zero sympathy for my situation, and acted like the whole thing was an inconvenience to them. I was worried about getting charged twice for both trucks, and trying to get an answer rewarded me with a snide comment from the employee. It got to the point where I actually asked them if they could be a little nicer, as the day had already be stressful, and I was met with "we've told you all we can tell you, I don't know what to say". I understand these people probably deal with crazy stuff all day long, but a little kindness goes a long way, and they made an already stressful day far more stressful and upsetting. I'm waiting to see if I can get a refund from uhaul corporate - I've had positive experiences using them in the past but would really not recommend this location if you're thinking of booking.

My truck was absolutely filthy on the outside and the gas was so low that I had to go immediately to a gas station before I could get on the freeway, but, they made it so pleasant to pick up the truck and drop it off that I didn’t even care. The inside of the truck was decently clean, so having mud and dirt on the outside is really not a big deal. I got a pick up truck so I could drive about 30 miles away and pick up some furniture from a friend, drop it off at my house, and then return the truck. I was able to complete all of that within three hours and for only around $75 at U-Haul, so I was a happy camper. If I need a truck again, I will definitely rent from here. The employees are also awesome.

Picked up the van with 3/4 tank. Drove off less than 2 miles the gauge dropped a notch. When I went to pump up with fuel before drop off, the gauge wouldn’t budge to show how much more I needed to pump. It stopped pumping as if full but gauge only showed 3/4 full after driving for few minutes. Very suspicious. U-Haul used to be an honest company.

Sam needs additional training. I did not have access to a cellphone so he told me I wouldn't be able to rent a trailer. I have rented multiple times this in the last 6 weeks. I only have a temporary license from MT and the voided one from CA. A picture of the paper license would not have been accepted by your as a vaild picture. He saw I only had the temp copy but turned me away. It took another employee to tell him what to do. The outside crew, Jesus and his female coworker are great...!!!

This was not a friendly location. I admit my husband mistakenly clicked the wrong truck when reserving. The agent was not accommodating at all. After requesting a dolly, he mentioned he only gave appliance dollys. I came back 2 minutes later and all of sudden it was more dollys available. After paying to rent an appliance dolly, I never received it. They gave me the truck with the previous owner lock still attached, and had to wait an additional 20 minutes for it to be removed. I was unable to contact this location to notify them that I didn’t receive my dolly which required me to have to contact the corporate office. Plus, I received the truck on a pretty empty tank!

Our reservation was a 9:00 am. There was a long line and the shopped opened late. Additionally there was a problem with the link to supply the pictures of the truck and odometer. Since the truck was parked so close to other vehicles there was no way to stand back far enough to get good pictures. We did not actually get on the road with the truck until 10:00, which means the pick up process was an hour long. This shop probably needs more people checking customers in.

This place is fine. The original place my uhaul took me to apparently was this place "2367 India St San Diego, CA 92101 United States" was terrible. The lady was an absolute monster. I walked in and she started yelling at me to not break her door and she was yelling we're not going to take your trailer you need to call uhaul. so I did and then a few minutes later she came out of her building all confrontational yelling at me to move and leave and she called a tow to come get me and she started recording me. I wasn't even blocking her parking lot. well either way it didn't matter cause we left and found the actual location. but uhaul needs to sever ties with that location. she was so unprofessional and rude and I will never be using uhaul again because of her. I know they are a 3rd party, but still, they shouldn't say they can accept one thing and then go ballistic and get confrontational when you try to use their services.

I don’t know what happened or who did it but U-Haul changed for the better if not the best - at least on my experience 2026 . Born in the in the 70s 2026 rental experience at U haul FAR exceeded expectations. Real live Staff was courteous acted like they loved there job and liked to work their- clean truck was Ran like it was well maintained everything worked ! I couldn’t believe it ??? My experience picking up and dropping off was extremely easy- don’t change a thing ! Scale 1-10 I give you all 11 ! I don’t know who changed U Haul - everything from Customer Service , clean and maintained truck , a user friendly app professional friendly live Customer Service I would recommend it to a friend and I actually do as a far exceeded my expectations. Keep in mind I was born in the 70s and it’s a big difference from using them in the 90s and early 2000s. Great experience and the app seems to be user-friendly and I’m not very tech savvy. Please never change your live customer service real people who answer your questions over phone courteous polite and well trained. Thank you ! This is based off my experience 2026 !

To begin with, the exorbitant fee of $165 per month for the smallest storage locker is outrageous. Moreover, the lack of assistance on-site adds to the frustration, and I found myself in a predicament when I got trapped in the parking lot due to a poorly placed truck. In addition, I opted for a Ubox rental, where the reservation process involves specifying both pick-up and drop-off locations. However, the initial quote only covers pick-up and storage, conveniently omitting the drop-off fee. This deceptive practice led to my moving cost doubling unexpectedly. This misleading approach is especially disheartening given the already significant expenses associated with moving. The situation worsens as they establish a separate reservation using the card details from the original reservation and automatically charge it. Opting for a local moving company seems like a more reliable choice compared to falling victim to the practices of these unscrupulous corporate entities.

In the past, office staff at Point Loma Uhaul were very grumpy with my son Jacob who desperately needed to access storage but was often denied without paying an extra $20, even though my auto draft payment went through each month for $125 for a teeny tiny unit I have moved my items to a much larger unit at a different company for $100 per month. It is also climate controlled. Will never store with U-Haul again.

I came months ago with a small balance due. The manager, the dreaded man with a horrible attitude wouldnt let me pay in full and cut my own lock. I could not afford the locksmith at the time and since the bill doubled. Now i was left with a $945 bill which i could not pay, had to settle and only by the support of Rick was able to keep my moms belongings. I have paid over $5500 in bills to this uhaul and was treated so poorly im left with a negative impression about this facility and can never use uhaul again. I was told i could remove the items by 10pm. The same dreaded man came back ,with a dog , smelling like marajuana telling me i had to be out by 8:30 or "as soon as he felt like it". The same man doubled my bill and completely ruined my understanding of customer support. If anyone pays for a unit for 5 years, balance ready in hand, i think they deserve the support to fix the situation right then. This man was horrible and ended up costing uhaul an immediate payment and closing and instead created a long settlement. Nobody benefited from his horrible customer service skills and he should be fired immediately. How many customers has he done this to? I will be following up on this review personally as i have no intention to leave any past dues unpaid. I just want to make sure nobody else has to ever deal with the situation i had. Im so sorry for who ever reads this but i hope it gets back to the dreaded man at the point loma uhaul. He is a disgrace to the local community has no belonging in any managerial role.

The teams at both pick band drop off were beyond excellent. Friendly, kind. The Santa Clarita location was clean. The person signing up up was so great. Her crew not so much. Seems she was doing everything. I would hire her, but not the crew...stand around do least amount of work impression. The San diego drop off Point Loma crew were so great, I mean excellent! Greeted with smile, beyond helpful. I would hire them, they were that good...in other words....keep them! Except for app check in, UHaul on this trip exceeded expectations.

I can't access my unit. Using the access code it says my account is suspended. I went to the manager Alan who tried to help but there was nothing he could do to help. If there was he would have done it.

The staff at your midway location were amazing. I was already having a ruff day when I went to rent the uhaul. The staff there were so incredible that they totally turned my mood around. The went above and beyond to accommodate me. They interacted well together and provided some of the best customer service I've r er received in a very long time. Uhaul is lucky to have those two individuals working for there company. I even end ed d up renting a storage at that location because of your staff there.thank you so much. Sincerely

Overall a really great experience. Robin and Jeremy did everything to make sure I was taken care off and found a great spot for my moving out for the trailer. Dalton was the one really going above by helping position the trailer just right and making sure I didn't have to cross the incoming truck lane. I would recommend others the facility and going with u-haul as their storage and moving supplies solution.

Storage Areas are very clear, good lighting. Staff very friendly and helpful. My only issue was having to wait in line at the front rental desk. There was one gentlemen working the front desk.

I was charged for an extra day with my trailer when I had brought it back 3 days early. I called four times trying to get reimbursed, each time I told that the manager would contact me. He never did.
