My experience was terrible; My pick up location changed 3 times (why ask my preferred method of communication if youre going to do what you want anyway?) and when I did get here the truck I needed was blocked in so I needed to wait to have them move the other trucks out of the way. In addition before I signed my contract I asked about changing drop off locations which I was grossly mislead about. "It's easy and a short call away. Here's the number" to which I spent 2 HOURS AND 7 TRANSFERS to have no one help me. Also I was told it wouldnt cost me more but it DID.LINDSAY ALEXA W.

The location where the equipment was picked up was not knowledgeable, tried to charge my stepdad for the equipment when I had made arrangements to charge the card that I put on file when I made the reservation, had no idea what other equipment I had ordered in addition to the truck etc. They are an embarrassment to U-Haul.DOUGLAS SCOTT D.
In store experience was great. They took care of everything and were friendly. Online is completely different. Stop pushing to sell literally everything imaginable. I knew what I wanted and what I needed. Also the page with the equipment add ons (straps, trailer accessories, etc.) Had a subtotal with all of the suggested items added which was over $100 more than what I was getting because it automatically assumed I wanted all of those things. That is not ok, how many unneeded items have you pushed on to people because they didn't see the little skip button in the top right corner?ROSS ALAN M.

The staff were really nice but uhaul has some issues to work out. I did a one way move from California to Michigan in a 20' truck with car and rented a storage unit vanbody 7x23x6 over a month ago. I get to the Ypsilanti location and they said it is a glitch in their system and it is allowing people to reserve storage units that don't exist. So I had a 20' truck full of stuff and no where to go. They have anything available in my area. I went to three separate places again in Michigan for storage units with no luck, only ones available were 5x5. Storage rentals of America saved me. This experience made my move 1000 times more stressful.MEGAN C.

The reservation process was confusing at best, I reserved a truck online selecting a location very close to my home, only to receive a call the afternoon before saying no truck was available and directed to a location significantly farther away. Well for one thing I made a reservation to pick up a car hauler trailer at a local location in livonia on Plymouth road mechanics place which online it let me book the reservation for the trailer then when I got there they informed me that they didn't have a trailer/ or the trailer they had was broken. So as I waited there for them to locate a trailer they were nice but waiting to see if anyone locally had one was stressful because I had made a appointment to pick up my vehicle at a certain time which I was over a hour and a half late because of the reschedule of my reservation to another u-haul location which was another 20 minutes away in the opposite direction. This was the worst experience I have ever had with such a large company I just keep wondering to myself how this could happen and why I wasn't offered some sort of discount for my inconvenience or something but it is what it is. I definitely wouldn't recommend people as this was my first ever experience and probably my last ..JOHN EMERY W.

We discovered we had left a Kindle in the truck. I called well before closing, waited on hold for over 25 minutes. No one took the call. I called the next day to the 800 number, was told a message was sent to the Redford store and to go there to see if the Kindle had been found. After waiting for the employee to finish his phone call, I was told the truck was outside and that I could go look. I said that it wasn't the truck, but was assured it was. The employee was clearly not anxious to help, finally got the employee who checked the truck in, who said the truck had already been rented after checking the computer and promised a callback when it was returned. I received NO call. Poor customer service, poor work attitude by employee #1. At least employee #2 verified the truck was out. Wish he would have followed through.dianne B.

Everything worked out well, but one of the tires was at its wear bars and both tires had only 2/3 it's recommended air pressure. I noticed the low pressure because my mileage was low. I had to add about 20 psi to each.Gordon N.

I wouldn't recommend U-haul to a friend. I dropped vehicle off after hours and i was charged an EXTRA 20.00 even though i went online and completed the check in with the app. Thats a scam.
