It was raining really hard and after I loaded my couch, all five my of kids mattresses I realized the roof was leaking and pooling water in trailer. It's was too late as t they were soaked. I also was pulled over because one of the tail lights were out. I called uhaul and their customer service was very nice and said they would take care of this and the apologized and said they noted this on my account so that when I return the uhaul there would be no charge. When I returned it the location confirmed the notes but charged me in full.

The antennae was missing so that affected the radio reception. Inside smelled like stale cigarette smoke--disgusting. The windshield inside was very smeared & dirty. Everything else was fine.

Staff were morose and reluctant to acknowledge let alone apologize for several errors — - said I had a half tank when it was 1/8 full - agent insisted on seeing for herself - were out of rental blankets but had plenty to sell. Sleazy. They should be ashamed of this level of service and attitude.

The pick up location and staff were excellent. My only issue was with the online returns - apparently the website wasn't working and I couldn't check in, which was really stressful. I called your 1800 # and spoke to a service rep named Charity who was FANTASTIC. She was able to get me checked out and the Redwood City location was able to promptly follow up the next morning to close out the contract.

The people who worked at front desk were very friendly and helpful. However, when we walked over to retrieve our rental truck, it was blocked in by another truck and there was only one staff member out there helping all the customers, while other ppl just stood around. The woman who worked at front desk was able to help us but this delayed our schedule.

The staff at the U-Haul location in Redwood City were super helpful. I had never towed my own car so they answered all my questions and help me setting up the towing part and my car. Highly recommend them.

Don't take offers of quick returns, check outs. Don't rely on staff to ensure your vehicle is examined for damage upon picki g up rental vehicle. When returning vehicle, Don't hand over keys and accept offer to simply receive an email to close out order. Rather, I sister on doing it on the spot, examine final receipt for correct charges. Today, I was charged for two days rental, despite returning vehicle at 4:40 p... when ut was due st 5. I finally received an email of final transaction abd was double charged in 2 places. No one answered a 0hone when I called abd held on fir 25 mins. So I had to return to the store abd deal with a staff member who smirked and fou n d the situation amusing. I have rented from thus l8cation many times over the years abd never had a problem until this rental. A courtesy credit is indeed due, I think.

It was very convenient I had no problem checking in I had no problem ordering my vehicle I had no problem extending the date the only thing I did not like too much was you're paying for mileage that needs to be changed because if it's 1999 or $20 a day no matter it just should be for that day not paying for mileage. But you're paying for mileage that's the only part I did not like other than that it was excellent it was close by I had no problem checking in and checking out

I'd tried to drop the trailer off in Dublin and Danville. The Danville guy was good on the phone and said he'd take it, but Dublin was more set up for it. I called twice and got no answer at about 3:45 and 4:15. So I went there to beat the 6:00 close. Rude people and wouldn't take the trailer.

I had never driven a cargo van before, and this one was brand new, spanking clean, and surprisingly easy to drive, even packed floor to ceiling with my stuff. Checkout was a breeze and so was the return. The staff at the Redwood City U-Haul on El Camino are fantastic— fast, friendly and efficient. I would recommend this U-haul location to anyone.

Major complaint: You guys should always send out your trucks with a full tank of gas. This is little if any additional trouble for you, and would eliminate a major pain for your customers. Ever tried to go to a gas station and fill up to 3/8 of a tank? Either you guys are just being lazy, or you figure that the average customer will overfill to be safe and you will end up with about $20 worth of free gas. Either way, you aren't making customer satisfaction your priority.

When someone rents a truck from you for the first time, make sure you explain that one-way trucks can vary wildly in teems of pickup location. Explain all fees involved, too. And the 24/7 checkin was super confusing… basically i felt that there were surprises every step of the way—not smooth sailing. Samantha at the pickup location was excellent, though.

We rent equipment here often. Staff are always friendly and polite. More often than not, there is some problem with the U-haul computer program. Today the salesperson struggled to log into the program and had to ask her co-worker to process my paperwork. I have watched staff struggle with the computer program at every U-haul rental center that I have been to.

The truck was in terrible shape. The gas tank was more or less empty . The gears didn't stick and I had to keep shifting them into drive or reverse out of neutral. I was about 45min late Tom picking up the truck and so the app didn't work. Miserable experience all around

The staff at this return location failed to check my trailer in when I dropped it off. When they got around to it, it was after my return time resulting in me being falsely charged for being a day late. This is unacceptable business practice and I have disputed the charge with my credit card comps. On Monday I will report this location to the bbb and the Redwood City chamber of commerce for their bad business practices.

The poor rating has nothing to do with the facility. It was great. You earned this rating by not honoring my 30 day vacate notice. You tried to charge me for another month, and your site mgr., (Mr. Lopez) I think, didn't respond to any of the 4 email replies I sent him and also copied U-Haul, referencing my vacating the site. He only attempted a text communication after he realized you were sending this questionnaire to me. I have been so upset, I couldn't reply till now. I hope this is a one-off, as I hadn't experienced anything like this with U-Haul before. I highly recommend using U-Haul storage facilities. There are many pluses and some negatives. On the plus side it is not expensive, conveniently located, lots of space for the price and accessible 24/7, the one-month free feature is a great bonus. On the negative side the height of each space could be higher, there are no elevators if you are on the 2nd floor.

The hours posted online are not what there practicing. The access codes for doors don't work the access cards your given don't work on doors .the security system is below par. When you here or see u-haul logo you think American, Professional,Secure. This (Redwood City) site has failed.

I just moved out of my storage unit. My things had been there since 2018. I found rat feces and rat smell in all my belongings. My shoes and clothing are expensive and can never be replaced. U-Haul should pay to have my clothing dry cleaned, at least.

The one drawback was that my unit required a metal staircase to be positioned in front of the unit. It was a bit tricky to get in and out.

Like with everything else involved on Uhauls side of my move, things were not at all what was requested. I requested and reserved a certain sized storage unit. When I arrived , I was told it wasn't available, but I could have a 4x4 unit. I explained thay I had a one bed apt full of goods, and needed the bigger unit that was promised me. I was then given an 8x8(?) Unit that was still too small for my belongings. I had to get an additional 4x4 unit. Now I'm stuck with 2 payments a month. Uhaul has played bait and switch with me this entire move. From the first truck and trailer that was switched out and too small, to the storage. Also, the movers that uhaul listed ended up tearing my mattress when they forced it into the storage unit, then scratched up my dining chairs.

Reserved a bottom floor unit, and the website showed me that there was one available. Got to the store to see the unit and had to wait a really long time for someone to even come to the counter, then was told that there were no more bottom floor units. I had just moved here so I didn’t really have time to look for another storage unit on the spot ( which was probably a huge mistake) and decided that this would have to do. I had auto-pay set up, and even got emailed receipts, and after having just paid rent, I got a notice that our rent had not been paid and was told our unit’s lock had been removed and a notice placed there as well. I had to go to the store and show the email to have that taken care of, only to find out they had lost my original lock, so I had to get another one. When we finally got a new unit somewhere else, I noticed that there were water marks on some of our things that weren’t there before, so something had to have leaked or sprayed onto our things. I’m glad we were able to have at least some kind of storage for the time being, and for what it’s worth, it was secure and nothing was stolen or damaged. The employees, when there is one available, are very friendly. Not super happy but it wasn’t the worst possible experience.

The instructions were great, and staff was friendly. The unit was clean enough, but we did have to pick up dinner trash and hammer down a few staples that were dangerously sticking out. The most important part was that our unit did not measure 8' by 6' which was absolutely surprising. It was 7.5' by 5.25' which made a huge difference for us. We packed up an 8x6 area at home to figure it out, and when we showed up, the unit was noticeably smaller than advertised! Why can't you just list the true interior dimensions of your units??

Hey there. Please give me a call when you get a moment. My rep Jailin was doing her best but she was ill, sneezing (yipes with Covid), and exhausted when she helped me this afternoon. I was promised an 8x8 unit and rolled in with a moving van and auto transporter, 1 way reservation. I had to get the car off myself, outside the lot because it was so hectic and understaffed inside the gates. And in the end... (cue the sad muzak), the storage unit I was promised was double booked. I drove for 2 days, had follow up calls confirming the unit was available just to find out I couldn't store my stuff at this location once I arrived. I'm going to use the remaining days of the use of the moving van but am very nervous about what comes after that. Please, if you would, call me so we can discuss my plan B for where to store my belongings if I run out of time. P.S. I know covid has wreaked havoc on communication and software systems and therefore not everyone has the best and latest information, but it had a severe negative effect on me during a major move in my life. Let's please work something out ASAP.

Lines were long when I returned my trailer. Employees were not able to handle my situation when my Ubox did not get delivered on time, so they gave me the business card of someone to call. Poor.

The Redwood City U-Haul staff had minimal training on their own software. It took multiple phone calls to get basic information about my UBox, and I was transferred over and over without explanation.

Unit was easy to access w/ personal card. Website stated that the facility had 24-hour access, but is only open when the front desk is open. Unit roofing was loose, but tricky to access.
