I maintained a storage unit for 3 1/2 years. I moved out and two days prior to my move my payment was processed. I asked if I would get a pro rata credit for the 28 days I was told no because I received the first month free when I initiated my storage rental. I feel like the first month free was like a bonus for me renting at U-Haul not a disadvantage. I should of gotten a 28 day credit.

I had several issues throughout the day with the uhaul. I spoke to Cathie T with Uhaul Roadside assistance that insisted I do the late night drop off with Uhaul after hours instead of allowing a tow to come get the truck after the miserable day I had. And this morning I get a call from this UHAUL location that they can not find the keys I dropped off in the drop bin.

For some reason, I owed 45 cents upon dropping off the vehicle. So, I had to stand there in the lot and register a credit card so I could pay this palty sum. Not the fault of the drop-off point but U-Haul in general.

Need to improve online check in because I had trouble checking in online. The rep who assisted explained that I could no longer check in if I missed the “timeframe”. I recommend having a 10-15 min “Window” for online checking in process

Onsite staff were very nice. On 3 bus lines so easy to get to. During open hours drop off could have been a little quicker but that's my only (minor) comment. Vehicle in good condition. Used to go to a different U-Haul location. Will most likely switch to this one, despite being 3x further away.

I was told by 2 different U Haul reps I could drop trailer off at South St. Location. They would not accept and had to drive to another location....was not far but messed up plans for family waiting! I had double checked to make sure I could drop off at South Street..

Make sure the towing dollies for cars are set up and ready on one of your trucks. I waited almost an hour to be able to put my car on it and drive the truck to pack for my move out of state.

I never knew I was not going to get my refund back or else I would’ve kept my garage to the 22nd or 21st of October I’ve never received a free month and which I wouldn’t know what I have to do with it because then you’re charging you at the end if it was a free month but I never got a free month nor do I get a military discount I called that double dipping someone pays for a garage and now you run it out to someone else you got double payment for that one unit I would recommend it to no one or to make sure when you check out you stay until your bill is due next

The online sign in process wasn't as easy or clear cut as expected. It asked for 2 points of contact- when I provided both myself & the driver, it kept saying that wasn't good enough. I had to provide a 3rd point of contact not even affiliated with the move just to access the vehicle. Then, I was told to refresh the page & the next steps would follow. This did not happen. The online chat also took several minutes. It took me close to 20 minutes just to access the vehicle. I was then late for the movers, even though I had given myself plenty of extra time.

I had a very bad experience with renting the trailer I called in and explained what I needed and and measurements but the wrong trailer was given to me and I lost a hole day because of this problem as well as David screwing up the paperwork i told him I need the trailer till 20th 7:15pm he put 7:15am David also gave me a hard time picking up the trailer I was told to pick up the trailer at 6:45 I get there exactly 6:45 and he was on the phone with another customer and I waited patiently for him to get off the phone but that time it was 7:55 and he said I have to come tomorrow because the store is closed. I was treated unfairly and I'm very unhappy because I lost time and money for no reason at all

When we arrived there wasn't a single person in the customer pick up area. We rung bells, shouted, and looked around for about 10-15 minutes or so. I couldn't believe that the employee would leave the registers and vehicle keys unattended like that - not to mention we were stuck waiting for a long time when we had a designated pick up time. When the employee finally turned up, they started to process me but then picked up the phone and spent a good 5 minutes talking to someone else. The service at the Washington Avenue is far better than this. This was pretty dismal.

Our driver was amazing. She was very straightforward and communicated with us the whole time. If there's anything I would improve it's the website and app. They aren't user friendly and don't communicate well with eachother. The UI is confusing and it's hard to make changes for delivery dates. Other than that the service was great.

There was no staff at all, when I returned my truck, and I could not ask any questions to anyone. What U-haul, not this location specifically, should change is the estimate for the Truck sizes, since they are completely wrong. I could not fit my furniture for a 1-bedroom apartment in a 15-foot truck at all and I had to make two trips.

The young women put down for my truck to be return at 1:00pm instead of a full 24 hours. This cause great trouble for us. I told her for a day she should have reviewed the timing before I left the shop. In the future I will read over everything before leaving the counter. I never had this problem before.

This whole experience was a nightmare. I received a call the night before my reservation after 9:00pm telling me I had to drive almost 2 hours away to Philadelphia to get a truck. I barely received a discount even though you guys didn't honor your contract by informing me before 6:00pm. It ruined my whole weekend and cost me money. I received no dolly in the truck and then was asked to drive and get a new one which I didn't have time for. I spoke with Nancy from the New Jersey reservation office who was nasty as hell, told me I need to deal with it because you guys are busy, and then hung up on me. My back is currently hurt and I had to go to the doctor from having to lift everything. I'm thinking of contacting my lawyer about this. The only bright spot was the lady at the Philadelphia office whom I had an initial disagreement with and we both took a deep breath and she handled the situation very professionally after that. I'm verified on social media and thinking of posting a serious bad post and review on the internet.

Did the whole mobile phone pickup option. Got there and went through all the instructions through mobile phone. At end of instructions, was told to pick up keys INSIDE building (not as shown in the video). I was in a time crunch because movers were coming to empty storage container at another location. When I went inside, was told I had to wait for agent to be helped. There was one single person taking care of everybody with three people waiting in line for assistance ahead of me. And the point of going through the mobile pick-up was???? Awful procedure, waste of time. Will not do again.

The general manager refused to put her mask on in the business when asked. I politely asked her several times and each time she responded by repeating her question to me (do you have an alternate phone number) and ignoring my question. She did put the mask on eventually but that was after asking 4 times and her giving me a lot of attitude in response. I wasn't trying to be rude I'm just following CDC guidelines and best practices because my health & safety matters to me.

I can't tell you how much of a hassle the whole drop off experience has been. I wanted to drop it off at the uhaul location on 12th St in Phila, but was told that because 'they weren't expecting it', they would not accept it. So I had to drive completely out of my way to drop off the truck on Oregon Ave, where I then had to walk 2.5 miles back to where my car was (it was only 1/2 miles from the 12th St location). At Oregon, the employee was too busy to deal with me. He told me where to park it and leave the keys, but that wasn't good enough for him, so I had to move it. Then there was an erroneous odometer reading that cost me additional. Other than that wonderful experience, everything was great, he said sarcastically.

The staff was extremely unhelpful. The remote pick-up/app wasn't working so I had to wait over an hour to the location to open so I could get my moving truck. I paid $90/hr for movers to come and they were just sitting around waiting because the Uhaul system was down. When this location finally opened, they didn't apologize or even admit it was an issue with the app (even though I called corporate and they confirmed it was a Uhual-wide issue) and tried to tell me I wasn't doing it right. Even when I showed them it wasn't working, they still denied it was their issue. They continued to blame me - if you want good customer service, do not go here.

This pickup location was over an hour away from my home. I found that out the night before our cross country move. When I got there the equipment I requested was not available because the UHaul scheduling center (not this location) screwed up my reservation. The location staff did everything they could to find my equipment but could not, so we ended up having to rent a much smaller trailer. The location did offer to let me return the smaller trailer the next day if it did not work and swap it for the requested equipment. I won't be recommending Uhaul to anyone looking to move cross country. You made a mess of our move.

In general, this location met our storage needs. The location manager, Alicia Hicks, was friendly when I was able to make contact with her, but this was rare. Originally, she extended a monthly discount to us to price match a quote given to us for our size unit by a different Uhaul facility. After a little over a year, that discount was removed by senior mgmt without notification to us. I filed a claim with customer service and Alicia told me that she'd follow-up with senior mgmt to look into whether something could be done. After we (and seemingly Alicia) were given the run-around for almost a month, and after submitting multiple follow-up claims requesting a callback for an update, we eventually decided to take our business elsewhere due to the lack of communication and feeling like it just wasn't worth the hassle. On the day we decided to move out, the garage door at the facility was not working, which prevented us from being able to park close to the elevators and made the move-out process more difficult than it needed to be. Although it seemed like Alicia was doing her best to move the process forward, we would've appreciated better communication from either this location's staff and/or the customer service team that handled the claim intake. Had someone from senior mgmt reached out to us, we would've considered maintaining our storage unit.

The trailer was filled with leaves and twigs and sticks. I had to sweep them out myself once I hooked up. In hooking up the trailer with the U-Haul employee she had me block the area and caused irate drivers to wait while she completed her check. When returning the trailer it was immediately noted that the wrong tire was used on this trailer.

UHaul did not deliver on what it promised and advertised AT ALL. First of all, the purpose of a UBox is that it can move; however, on the day of our scheduled UBox drop off to pack our things, we did not know the UBoxes were not going to be dropped off until we called the facility TWICE ourselves. They did not contact us the day before to confirm our delivery time either. Secondly, UHaul changed our reservation type to on location load/unload of our UBoxes without informing us. We would not have known this was the case except that we called UHaul to try to change our drop off day because we were afraid that they would not delivery on the day we needed the boxes. Through this process, we spent over 4 hours on the phone over the span of 5 days being given the runaround and having to explain our situation over and over again with little to no new information. They also did not put our third box in the system and the customer service surrounding that issue was disastrous. All this to say, we will never be using UHaul's services again. They have poor customer service, poor internal communication, and poor communication with their customers. AND they do not deliver on what they say they will do.

Overall, everything was wonderful. Customer service was especially top-notch: the woman working the front counter was so helpful! My only complaint is that the truck was reading that it needed an oil change. Otherwise, great truck for a day's worth of moving furniture.

This unhappy review is for 314-322 N 13th St, Philadelphia, PA. I reserved a unit on May 15 through the website (#808042-00115070). I showed up the day before I planned to move all my stuff into storage and they said there were no units available! That the website was allowing people to make reservations even though they hadn't any available for months? The staff at 13th Street found a unit at 8 E Oregon. Other than that, they were close to useless. Very dismissive, like it's not their problem. Ok, it's not their fault that U-Haul's website is busted, but why did no one call me ahead of time??? Can you imagine showing up with movers and a truck full of stuff, only to find out you have no unit? That's inexcusable.

Every single time I rent a Uhaul it takes half an hour. Every time! Doesn’t matter how much I do in advance online to expedite the process. It’s absolutely ridiculous. The single person at the front desk (one person for all truck rental and storage needs) was very polite and professional.

I been having problems with the desk from day 1 . I get paid different days so for 1 day late they would lock my doors and it will take then 3 hrs of me standing their waiting for someone to unlock my unit , I explain to then and they just act like they didn’t care ! Kelly the manager is fantastic. UHaul's website is absolutely terrible, so it just took a while to get to her. But the move was a little quirky, and Kelly helped us coordinate for maximum efficiency.

Apparently all 10x10 have giant poles in them, which reduces the space. Floor is not temperature controlled. It's unbearably hot. No stairs - fire hazard
