The employee there didn't seem like he wanted to be there but still, he was a great help. The manager Regina she was AMAZING though. I would suggest to Regina to get another "HER type" of person in there meaning someone who is swift and urgent like she is. One thing though is that it was kind of hard to find someone at times. It is 6:52 PM and still no U-Box, window was Noon to 4PM. I have a feeling that the dispatcher had the dates wrong, they called me to confirm a drop off on 6/17 which is the next day, the pick up date. I have a short timeline to move. We signed up for contactless pickup, but the Uhaul online system could not determine our location even though we had location services enabled and followed the prompts. We had to be manually checked in and it took over an hour. Please process a full refund.DANIEL B.
The facility did not have water in the bathrooms. The toilet did not flush. The bathrooms were filthy. The vehicle was filthy and smelled horribly of cheap cleansing product “ Fabulouso” which does not disinfect. It took your breath away. When you left the vehicle your clothes smelled like it for hours which you needed a shower right away. Lastly upon returning the vehicle there wasn’t anyone in the building to check you out. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who helped me at the Oregon Avenue location, because she was so, so helpful and answered all of my questions as a first-time renter of a storage unit. Just an absolute horrible experience. I did mobile pick up and when I got there I was told to go inside to the desk, not to the lock box. I waited 1 hour and 15 mins to talk to someone and finally get my key. They asked me for my card number 3 times. I was 2 hours behind schedule for today's job that I needed the uhaul for. I was told 2 hours would be comped and 2 extra hours would be given for free. I somehow still got charged $190. I'm disgusted and will never use this location againDior G.

There pods arrived very late and they were oriented in the exact opposite direction that was ordered. When I explained to the UHAUL employee assisting the driver of the boxes, that the boxes were in the wrong direction, she was immediately rude and dismissive with her response. Her tone of voice made it abundantly clear that she was not there to help me nor was customer service a priority for her. The driver on the other hand was at least polite and did his best despite there being no solution for the mistake except to wait another day for the boxes to be redelivered. There was absolutely no communication from UHAUL regarding the delivery, I had to call several times to check in on the status of the u-box delivery and was told I would receive a call back. When I did finally receive a call, two hours after the delivery window I was told that they would arrive in less than a half hour. I then waited for over an hour for the boxes to arrive. The terrible service an communication also occurred when I tried to check on the pick up of the boxes. At the moment I still do not have confirmation that they were picked up, nor do I have the ability to schedule their delivery. Overall I won't be recommending this service to any friends or family, nor will I look to use this service again in the future.Eva A.

The moving help that I ordered and paid for would not answer my messages and the day before my move responded that they did not contract with uhaul. I thus had to â€œcancel and changeâ€ to another moving group which was $70 more expensive. Uhaul did not and would not refund me or help even though I bought a service on their website that they could not provide. They claim no liability even though uhaul contracts these companies. Once my moving company finally got to the Ubox location they took 4 hours there because the ubox had been put on the wrong hitch. Will never use uhaul again. Awful service on the phone, online, and ended up paying more than a thousand dollars to move on the wrong day.Daniela F.

The keydrop was incredibly difficult to find after-hours. The app should provide specific instructions on what to look for at each location. The visual in the app was of an orange box and I circled the whole building looking for an orange box. Instead, it was a barely labeled slot near the bottom of a sliding door.Storey C.

The gentleman who checked in the truck on return needs to be recognized. He is very honest, professional a good look for the company. I had lost 35$ in the vehicle and had no clue at the time. I did not want my ubox delivered by pickup truck and trailer. This should have been disclosed before they arrived. As a result, the ubox access door was facing the wrong way and was completely inaccessible for the things we need to store. I called the store and requested they come pick up the ubox two months early and lost money on this process. Not only that, I've spent literally HOURS on the phone trying to make a new reservation from another store that can deliver by Flatbed truck and Forklift so placement is exactly where I want it.Amy H.
When I went to drop off no one came out to the return area for over 20 minutes. When I decided to check in via the app I was finished and went to park and was told by the attendant that I could not check in myself during business hours despite there being signs posted that you could do so 24x7. He went on to say that he was there alone and would get back to me later that day if there were any issues with the truck after making me move the truck back to the return area. He refused to allow me to return the truck in a contact-less manner, which is what U-Haul advertised when I rented the truck. He was rude and inattentive, and his behavior certainly wasn't customer-service focused. It's a shame as I have always had superior service by U-Haul previous to this incident. He didn't want to listen to me at all. I'm not sure how he could let me leave the truck without clearing it, and I ensured pics were submitted via the app in case he misrepresents how the truck was returned. In times of COVID I appreciate a contactless way to conduct business, and he told me that the policy was not necessarily in place for that specific location as every location is different - I hope you appreciate that he basically is stating that his location (Philadelphia - Riverview on Oregon Ave) can do whatever they want regardless of U-Haul's policies and advertising as they have their own policies. Also, this person was not wearing a mask, and approached me at distances closer than social distancing - not appreciated. Absolute worst customer service experience I've had with a company - please look into this.Edward F.

The A/C knob was broken in the van and on a very hot day it was much needed staff was informed but didn't seem to care or offer a different vehicle matter of fact the the one employee does even know how to let customers know he can help them he just stares at you until you speak and no compensation was made for the inconvenience of no A/CZAKRIA A.

They didn't have my key or rental ready for me when I came by after hours. They also didn't have the tank full of gas, it needed an oil change, the tire was low on air, and there was only ever one person working and they weren't even out working when I got there. This location was so unorganized. First they gave me the keys to the wrong tuck so I couldn't turn it on. Then I agreed to pay $10 for CDW but I was charged $20. I also was charged about $20 extra for gas even though the tank was at 1/4 tank when I picked it up and when I returned it. I returned my uhaul at 1:55pm and the contract says I returned it at 7:58PM. Also the miles in the contact were wrong. I only drove about 5 miles and was charged for 14. When I parked the uhaul the odometer said10648 which is what the starting odometer states in the contract, so basically all the information they charged me for was wrong and I don't know how they messed up so bad. My bill was only supposed to be $45 ish not over $100.MARISAH A.

The employee was very courteous at pick-up. Signage could be much better. I tried three or four doors before gerring to the correct one. When I returned the vehicle, I parked and stood in line and learned that I was supposed to drive it to the return lane. I saw no signage which indicated this or were where return lane was located. It was close by but if one did not know to drive there, there was no signage to read. I rented a pickup truck. I was grateful to find out that it was actually there. My last U-Haul experience at a different location involved arriving for my reserved pick up to find that they didn't have a pickup at that location at all and that they only rent box trucks. Although the gas tank was marked full on the paperwork, it was not full. The tire pressure was low. Although small, there was a dent on the driver side door which had not been marked. We had a storage unit reservation, but the guy at the counter could not find it. He said he was new. The girl who was with the guy was not very helpful to the guy when he asked for help and kept trying to walk away. Ended up having to get a different storage unit than what was reserved which costs more money. What was the point of reserving online if what I reserved could not be found? I had a reservation number and everything. Also the storage unit we did purchase cost more, but has a giant pole running through it so it's not even the size it's advertised to be. I for sure feel cheated on this and next time will choose a different location.Annette M.

I asked if I would get a pro rata credit for the 28 days I was told no because I received the first month free when I initiated my storage rental. In general, this location met our storage needs. The location manager, Alicia Hicks, was friendly when I was able to make contact with her, but this was rare. Originally, she extended a monthly discount to us to price match a quote given to us for our size unit by a different Uhaul facility. After a little over a year, that discount was removed by senior mgmt without notification to us. I filed a claim with customer service and Alicia told me that she'd follow-up with senior mgmt to look into whether something could be done. After we (and seemingly Alicia) were given the run-around for almost a month, and after submitting multiple follow-up claims requesting a callback for an update, we eventually decided to take our business elsewhere due to the lack of communication and feeling like it just wasn't worth the hassle. On the day we decided to move out, the garage door at the facility was not working, which prevented us from being able to park close to the elevators and made the move-out process more difficult than it needed to be. Although it seemed like Alicia was doing her best to move the process forward, we would've appreciated better communication from either this location's staff and/or the customer service team that handled the claim intake. Had someone from senior mgmt reached out to us, we would've considered maintaining our storage unit.Erich D. | Overall Experience

This unhappy review is for 314-322 N 13th St, Philadelphia, PA. I reserved a unit on May 15 through the website (#808042-00115070). I showed up the day before I planned to move all my stuff into storage and they said there were no units available! That the website was allowing people to make reservations even though they hadn't any available for months? The staff at 13th Street found a unit at 8 E Oregon. Other than that, they were close to useless. Very dismissive, like it's not their problem. Ok, it's not their fault that U-Haul's website is busted, but why did no one call me ahead of time???
