We've rented several trucks and two storage units from this location. Pretty much every time we came to our unit, we'd have to go into the office as our gate entry code would stop working. Even if we visited multiple times per weekend, it didn't seem to matter. The staff did their best to help but this was very frustrating. The last few truck rentals we had were also a challenge. We arrived for our reservation but the office was empty and no one was answering the phone. We waited 30 minutes before someone was finally able to assist us. We cleaned out our storage unit on 2/2, but I was still sent a bill with a late fee on 2/22. We had informed the office three separate times that our unit had been cleared, well before the next payment was due. I had to spend another half hour on the phone with customer service trying to resolve the situation. There is NEVER anyone in the office. The gate is broken and stays open not secure! Every time I go to my unit my passcode has to be reset!!! I waited 30 min to get someone on the phone from a different location because no one was around to get my truck when I had a reservation for pick up at noon! Then finally found out that BOTH employees were out in the back lot moving trucks. When you have an appt why are BOTH employees nowhere to be found? Extremely unprofessional. I also didn't get the dolly I reserved which made my move very difficult!Tracey G.

I ordered utility dolly from the location on Weber in romeoville!!! My order was a 10' truck with utility dolly! I'm from Indianapolis....they had me drive 30mins to Boilingbrook to get the dolly in I had to pay out of pocket!!! It was a big inconvenience.....pure laziness!!!Sonjia B.

17 hour drive from Florida to Lockport in the rain Drivers side inside leaks bad 9 hours of rain I kept haveing to pull over install more rags to stop lots of water from raining on me inside the cab. I was charged $25.00 for leaving a messy cab... not exceptable I would like my $25. This place stole out of my storage and blamed me for not locking my storage door which was completely false Things was stolen out my storage. I couldn't get in or out of my storage because their system was always down so I couldn't use my code to get in and of the gate. No one was never there to help the customers. Romeoville location never answers their phones. They left me a vague voicemail about my unit (during a day with high winds) which made me believe my unit got damaged, my husband and i spent all our time calling them while at work, and on the drive to the unit. I also signed up for automatic payments, and they didn’t processes that in my account, so they changed my gate access code and wouldn’t let me in. i would NEVER recommend this uhaul.Tina P. | Overall Experience

It took forever for someone to come and hook up our tow equipment. The place was busy and hard to drive thru because people were trying to get into their storage units. We also had to drive 97 miles to get our truck! The truck shimmied and the brakes were hard to push-too much stopping distance. Truck had scratches all over and they told ME to take pictures. Felt like I was going to be charged for all the scratches all over the truck. Just felt shady!Lynn B.

I fill out online checkout to speed up service - took 45 minutes from arrival to time to leave. I rented a storage unit here 3 years ago and had great service not so much this time. Was asked all the same questions online again, two women were behind the counter and myself and one other guy who was also a customer. After answering all the same questions was given the keys and said the truck was all the way in the back Go walk a 1/4 mile through the rain to go inspect your truck and leave. Really? I made the reservation, gave my credit card information online, and you didn't have the truck up front waiting? Last time I was here the women showed me the storage unit in a golf cart and was very pleasant. Get some better customer service it sucks here. I used uhaul for my business- I remodel garages and I rent box trucks to store clients belongings in while I renovate.Eric L.

Had hard time finding 12 foot trailer. Found one 60 miles away to pick up located in Kankakee Illinois. At the location was told it's not available. They located another one in Romeoville Illinois. Drove another 50 miles. I had people waiting to help our move. As you can imagine this was a big inconvenience. Driving over 150 miles and having my friends wait to help move furniture is not how you run a rental business. I was told I would get a $50 credit returned to my credit card. Spent close to that on gas. Have yet to receive any credit.Lloyd T.

I was charged a $50 cleaning fee. I did not leave the vehicle dirty and when I returned it a man speeding around in a car that was as very rude and unprofessional took the keys from me sped thru the gate and told me I'll receive and email once he checks the vehicle in. The truck was not ready for me to jump in. I understand it seems like a petty thing but I scheduled a pick up expecting to spend at most 10 minutes finalizing everything since I did a pre-check-in. The attendant in the office was away so that took up some time while I waited 15 minutes for her to help me (no mask was worn either). Then she tried to charge me 2x the price I was quoted online for the miles. Finally, when I was given the keys, I had to walk like half a mile just to get to the truck. Why was it not at the front by the office? Because of that, then I got blocked in by a second uhaul truck for another 15 minutes.Gloria A.

I was very disappointed!!! You charged me for an extra day ($40) when I was already scheduled to drop off that day. My receipt stated that I dropped it off at 7:01 pm on August 29, 2020 when I actually dropped it off at 6:47 pm on that day. It is not my fault that you all only had 1 person working. Also you charged me $26 for the gas tank in which that shouldn't have been there because i was never given the discount that was supposed to had been given to me since you all changed my drop-off location. This is why my rating is the way that it is. Until my situation can be rectified you will not get a good review from me.sheneitha M.

There was a sign on the dirt stating back in 15 minutes with a number to call....Employees where sitting in there car in front of the shop In the handicap spot....waited 5 minutes trying to get my reservation. All of my boxes were wet/damp and falling apart when I moved out. We only had our stuff in there for 3 months. Anything fabric has a mildew smell and I had to remove mold from several pieces of furniture. I would hate to have lost everything if I had to keep it in there longer. Not sure this is normal or not for storage. But it did add extra hassle, work, time and money onto our move that I wasn't expecting. Everything was great, including the fact that the reservation was noted as PM instead of AM on the phone but was quickly corrected. My only criticism was, even though tables and plastic panels were in place for social distancing, the attendant did not have a mask on. (Illinois laws may have been different than NY where I am from at the time.) Other than that, the flexibility of the company to accommodate me was very much appreciated.
