The staff were not unfriendly, but checking out was arduous. I had scheduled a 15 foot truck for pickup on 8/30/26 and also indicated with the agent that I would be checking out of my B173, 10'x10" storage unit that same day. When I was all done, the folks at the facility said that it was too late that day to inspect the unit and check me out of it. they would do it the next day, 8/31/26. I have the Uhaul app and checked it later in the day on 8/31/26, and it still showed that my rental unit was active. I completed the move with the 15 foot truck on 9/1/26 and returned it after hours to that same facility. I rechecked the app and it still showed my storage unit rental as active. I decided to drive back to the facility on 9/2/26 to personally check on why the storage unit was still showing as active on the Uhaul app. The store manager, Jessica said that their system was down and she would complete the check out later that day. I drove back home to Wisconsin on 9/3/26 and when I got home, I once again looked at the app and also logging in to the Uhaul website on my home computer, to see my storage rental as being active! I called down to the Romeoville Uhaul center and happened to speak with Jessica. She remembered me, and said their system just came back up. Finally after 5 days, she checked me out of the storage facility I had been renting. this seems bizarre and I wonder how a Uhaul facility can conduct business when their system is down. I've used Uhaul a great deal over the years and always had good service, but I would not go back or recommend the Romeoville, IL location.
