Driver side door would not close properly without slamming it. Truck in inspection photos was not truck rented. Could not adjust mirrors for safe driving on roads. Location seems understaffed, long line in morning. Employee that rented vehicle to me was returning in his own car at drop-off (presumably after lunch break) and the car smelled like marijuana. Other employee that I spoke with at drop-off gave instructions that differ from app. Not enough room in return lanes to return vehicles. I have a general complaint about u-haul. I dropped off my rental equipment after hours and had to use the online system. The fuel level for the truck was not correctly recorded when I received the truck, so I went online and corrected it and uploaded pictures. When I drop off the truck, the beginning fuel level for uhaul was not corrected and the system used the wrong fuel level. Although I returned the truck at the fuel level that I received it, I got charged for fuel by the system. This added an additional stress to my day. I hope uhaul could improve its policies and website to make the move less stressful for its clients.Ozgur O.

The after hours check out process was completely a disaster in my option. The app makes you take pictures of the inside of the truck, the mileage and back of the truck. It was late and dark when I returned it and not an easy this to do. Not to mention, that is what U-HAUL should be doing before they rent the equipment out again. Also the inside is the truck wasn't clean, there were bottle caps on the floor. I won't ever be using U-HAUL ever again.Esther H.

The trucks need to be serviced more often. The 1st thing I noticed was the check engine light I walked back in I was told it only needed a oil change which I found out, that was not the case because the truck cut off on me 2 times at the light.SHAWN G.
Overall, there were nice folks doing the best they could. Unfortunately, they sent me on the road with a truck that they knew had windshield wiper issues that they did not adequately address before letting me drive away in it. This resulted in me driving down the freeway in the rain as the windshield wiper failed to work. Visibility was minimal at best. I was able to make my way carefully 2 miles to the next exit to a gas station, where I realized the problem was a loose bolt. Luckily, I found a hardware store a mile down the road, bought the appropriate slip joint pliers, and was able to fix the problem on my own. Ultimately, nothing bad came of it, which I am very thankful for. I think if the situation was any different (raining even a little harder, if I was not as confident of a driver, if I had been on a stretch of highway without an exit for more miles, no hardware store, etc.), I do think something very bad could have happened. I wish they would have paid more attention the truck that they already knew had windshield wiper issues, appropriately fixed it, or given me another vehicle. The danger posed was to me and my partner was unnecessary.JOSEPH Z.

Rep I interacted with when picking up was super friendly. It was the opposite when dropping off. The associate wasn't friendly and acted like he didn't care. I was very put off and didn't trust him when he read the gas gauge and held my debit card in his hand for 5 mins and his phone in his other hand. I held the res with a CC but wanted to pay cash. Our unit was highly trafficked by mice. We had some belongings destroyed by mice and were reimbursed by Uhaul. The rest of our stuff survived unscathed but there was poop all over-needed a lot of surface cleaning. I was told, at pickup, that the car needed to be returned with a full tank. I drove a total of 7 miles and before returning the truck, i stopped at the gas station. I filled 8.6 gallons, which cost me $21 (have receipt) and which does not make any sense considering the total distance i drove. This means that the truck was far from having a full tank when I picked up, yet i was told it needed to be returned full. This is not an issue of a customer not correctly determining the fuel level at pickup, so do not try to spin it this way when (if) you follow up with me (i am not hopeful about that, anyways...). The fuel indicator on the dashboard was near "F" and i assumed that meant it was full. It clearly wasn't, and I ended up paying for a lot of fuel i did not use. I was having an issue with the app during check in and had to go inside to speak to someone. the 2 gentleman that were inside helped me and made sure my problem was solved and a warm truck was ready for me. I was directed for customer parking as well and the personnel outside was helpful as well. one gentleman made sure he helped me put the side mirrors in place for me and showed me where to release the brake. I think overall it did a good job but I called up the Medford store and I asked if you had four wheel drive pickup trucks I was told you did they didn't have any in Medford but they sent me to Somerville I went to Somerville and picked up the truck it was not four-wheel drive so why was this late I asked again in Somerville and they said four wheel drive yes. I'm not happy with that I think I should be refunded one day because took an extra day due to not having four wheel drive.Joseph B.

I have been in trouble with us, to rent a trailer the power cable to lights for the driver no power and I pay 350,00 to instal, I ask to see what happen and the guy there very stupid and say I need to pay new reinstall if him no first see what happen. Hi! my name is Justino. I went in to Somerville Uhaul office yesterday after reservation online. I made the reservation to move in on Sunday 9/27/20. When I got there, I saw a girl at the office, instead of helping she asked her coworker Edgar Lopez who just walked in from outside to take over and help me because she wanted to use the restroom, Edgar was in the middle of doing something outside but came over and started helping when she popped out of the so called bathroom she claimed she went. Edgar almost finished with the contract and was telling me the amount to pay to move in when I was explaining to him that I was supposed to have one month free according to my reservation and I have a proof of it. That was when the girl jumped in saying "no that's not true because I was here last time when you came in and my boss told you you need to rent a truck one way before getting one month free. I told her that's right but this is the proof that I'm qualified for one month free according to my reservation. she didn't want to hear it. Then I pulled my phone out and trying to provide the picture evidence I have, she said:"even if you have a picture to prove it we're not going to do it". However Mr Lopez Edgar took his time and listened to me and saw the evidence I showed him then advised me to come back the next day and see his manager because he's the only person who can approve the one month free rent. I got out of the office and decided to contact the manager because I'm used to that office and I know the former manager George and the current one manny. I sent a text message to Manny and told him the story of the girl been too harsh. Manny took his time to document everything and then recommended me to JUAN BAUTISTA and asked me to go back there and see him for the contract. I went back to the office and Juan took care of the issue and resolved it and assigned me the unit that I reserved which happened to be at the upper level. I told him it's too high for me to load heavy things up there and he reassured me that if anything becomes available at the lower lever I can switch to that lower level unit. I was so happy with the excellent customer service provided by Manny the manager, Juan B. and Edgar Lopez. All a customer needs sometimes is attention and be listened to and be advised when the service he or she is requesting cannot be provided. That's what Edgar Lopez did. And Manny as a team leader proved his leadership by asking a talented team member JUAN BAUTISTA to care of the issue which he resolved with an excellent level of service which brights my day.Justino A. | First Impressions
While the staff was helpful, the design of the storage units are horrendous. Why are there overhead storage units? This defeats the convenience in paying for storage units. Nowhere on the online booking tool was o warned there were overhead units at lower cost and floor units were $40 more! Arriving at the facility with my fully loaded for check in, My hand was forced to go with the slightly bigger, floor unit. The storage assigned was located three meters above the grounds. I had to use a ladder to put my things in there. It is shameless that storage line that can be sold. The worst experience. Moving is already stressful and to come and find out that your storage is on the ceiling of a poorly managed facility makes it a nightmare. Horrible experience with u-haul storage.
