When I arrived at the location, the employee at the desk asked me to scan my ID on my phone with their link, instead of just taking my ID in-person. That was slightly annoying. Once I ran the heat in the truck, the truck filled with an overwhelming cigarette smoke smell. So I had t choose between freezing or fill the cabin with an awful odor. I have always used U-haul in the past, but now I will look elsewhere when I need to rent a moving truck.
Cooper CA horrible return experience was accused of a federal crime ( tampering with mileage before even leaving the U-Haul parking lot) the male worker was very noisy and argumentative and made for the experience to be even worse.
TWYLA WCustomer service was pretty crappy. Not personable, couldn’t even look at me in the eyes just stared down at counter the whole time. Wasn’t very helpful considering most renting a U-Haul don’t do it very often. Truck mileage and gas levels also told to me were not even close to being what was actually in the truck.
TOD MWas charged for gas after putting more gas than required and was not refunded. We just let it go.

JOSEPH SThe guy that checked me out at pickup was very nice and helpful. He helped detach the trailer at drop off as well. That said, the manager was incredibly rude, condescending, and overall unpleasant. She double charged me despite me having the trailer back in 20 hrs and refused to refund me. She told me to call corporate bc she wouldn’t do it. So I did. She even called the police bc I wasn’t going to leave until I got my refund. I did leave. And did leave a formal complaint with corporate. Waiting to hear back. Would NOT recommend this location to anyone.

DARRELL H | First ImpressionsThe self pick up process was painful. Having to call multiple people at 6:45am on a Saturday to verify who the driver is was a pain. Anyone could lie about that so I’m not sure what kind of identification verification that provides. You can’t start the process until you’re at the location because of the GPS services and it won’t let you start until you’re there. Our truck was a bit away from the building and then we were “too far” from the location so it exited out of the pick up process. When we returned the vehicle, we were too far from the building again and it exited out of the return process and didn’t tell us what to do with the key. Thankfully someone was in the building but we asked what to do work the key and he just stared at us. It was so weird and uncomfortable. We eventually just put it on the desk and left
THOMAS HI believe the man who serviced me name was Allen. He was funny kind & quick. I was about to rent a moving truck & get my storage unit paid for within 20 minutes. I’ll be moving my things soon into a new home so I’ll obviously be coming back. Highly recommend

DONNA HThe first U-Haul I went to I ordered at 9am they did not show up in the mean time I had hired a moving company from U-Haul waiting for me, I had to go to another location adding miles to the U-Haul and added time that the first store did not respond/open. It was a complete disaster and would like a call refund and more or I will be calling the bbb. Sorry I’m never usually like this or one to get mean but this was down right the most horrible experience so far moving. Items damaged in the move…time and money wasted. Just not happy and WILL not happen again! Unfortunately I am going to have to call my bank or bbb or get a refund somehow soon!

I GOT 100 MILES I ONLY USED 90 SOMETHING MILES AND THEY SAID I USED 164! THAT ALSO CHARGED ME FOR AN EXTRA DAY AFTER I CALLED THIS UNPROFESSIONAL ASS PLACE TELLING THEM IM RUNNING A LITTLE BEHIND ON MY ROUTE! IVE BEEN GOING TO REYNOLDS RD LOCATION WITH NO PROBLEMS AND WILL CONTINUE TO GO THERE THEY ONLY REASON I EVEN PAYED THAT 75.00 IS BECAUSE WE HAD YARDS THAT NEEDED TO GET COMPLETED BY FRIDAY. TALAYA TI wasn't feeling all that good. I suffered a Stroke after going into the Facility. Doctors are helping me. I might have had a different perception on things had I not been suffering a stroke. I'm in no position to say much else except sorry. I feel embarrassed. If they want a phone to do business, then they want a phone to do business. It would make life a lot nicer for everybody if their was no internet technology, period. I won't be returning to that location again though. I'll use Pensky. Engelbert NBe clearer about the fees associated with keeping the truck past the time. I had no choice. My movers showed up late and took forever to load and unload. I got charged double for keeping the truck a few hours extra. That isn't right.

BAILY WExcellent. Walked in, was instructed where to back up the trailer, and they came out with the receipt and unhooked the trailer. Total time was less that 10 minutes.
RICHARD BThe Reynolds location was great except for the lack of knowledge of not knowing that the storage area was not a 24 hr access. We could not unload the truck until the next day due to a locked gate. The web site said 24 hr access so that is what we took it at. But found out that we could not get to storage area. Called the after hour number and did not get an answer or a call back until morning. This was very frustrating.

Brian THonestly, I can’t think of a thing. Customer service was excellent, Ann was friendly, polite, helpful and just all around a blessing to work with. I will definitely go back to the Detroit location the next time I need a U-Haul truck/trailer/van. This location has the very best employees.
RAMONA RI was in the car with dust, cat hair and in the back of the trunk there was stuff and it smells like cigarettes. There are times when I have rented and it smells like marijuana. That is very dirty.
EDEL ZWe ordered and received a truck with cruise control. It was broken.
DAVID KThe window wipers were useless alot of play in the steering and the truck had a hard time pulling the equipment. The credit card machine wasn't working, the truck and trailer were not connected when we got there, the lights for the truck didn't work with the trailer, once we finally got everything hooked up and the truck fixed an employee came out and told us the trailer was double rented and a customer who comes in each week need that trailer by 2 o'clock even though we had it rented till 6 so they wanted us to return the trailer by 2 for their favored customer. After being told I had "an energy" coming off of me they agreed to give us a larger trailer for the same price as a smaller one. Needless to say poor customer service and poor equipment.

TONYA SI got quotes for $308 and $322 online and even had one purchased and cancelled a week ago and still got quotes $328 then I end up paying $524 after I was told it would drop at least back below $400 from $600 something. This is outrageous I have used u haul for 5+ years myself and my family even more every year multiple times and I have never seen anything crazy as this. I request a explanation on while my quote was changed Soo drastically and why out of all the store
JUSTIN LImprove on proper communication and cleaning. My pick up was messed up prior to the appointment time and the supervisor was supposed to call me about the matter. They never did. Poor professionalism.

Pamela RHad to go to 3 locations to get the uhaul I was confirmed to pick up . The vehicle they gave me check engine light was on and they made me take a 26 instead of the 15 I wanted no compensation for my troubles or the extra gas the bigger U-Haul took. Will not rent again from U-Haul. The customer service is not customer service at all ..
James SWhen checking in the younger male that helped us was arguing with the older guy and at one point thr younger guy told us that the truck we had rented was not available, while the older guy was telling him how to do it, the younger guy kept telling him in front of us that it was not there. I don't know what the situation was with the system but it was very unsettling for us to start our day. When we checked the truck back in the female was very nice and took care of everything extremely professionally and efficiently. Overall the experience was good and would come back again.
Angela PZero customer service. The measures put in place for Covid need to be removed. “Here’s the key it’s out front” was about all I got from the worker. I then had to find them on smoke break to bend the catch on the latch so the back door would stay closed. I returned the truck, well maybe I did, not sure if the process even went through. A gentleman was still working but told me just to online return and put the key inside. Geo fence wouldn’t allow me to process the return the first couple of times, then I think it did. Still not sure…
Jason AAfter two decades of renting from U-Haul we will seek other options. We are a professional company and utilize moving trucks/trailers often. We rented a trailer close to the end of the day - the trailer was NOT cleaned out and had been used to haul concrete and dirt - we advised that it was not a problem and we would clean it out (which truly was not an issue for us). We indicated we would return it by the 12:00AM deadline and put our ppwrk through the night drop slot to verify return. We did exactly as advised and returned the trailer cleaned out and ahead of the designated time. That morning we stopped at U-Haul to insure everything was in order for the return. Upon arriving our bill included a "Late Return Fee" and we were advised that we did not click an online link upon return and were charged a fee of almost the same amount of the rental cost. When the representative was advised that indeed it was returned ahead of time and we were not informed of the online checkout (we were told to put the ppwrk through the drop box to ensure the return was verified) we were met with a cavalier "tough shit you're getting charged and there's nothing you can do about it" attitude as she smirked gleefully at the notion of us being at the mercy of having a charge applied to our credit card with no recourse. We are cooperative, courteous and fair in all of our business dealings and when an organization behaves in the manner that U-Haul did we simply will do business elsewhere - a name we associated with trusted service over the years is now seeming to be nothing but a Money Grab that doesn't care about its customers or their loyalty. Disgraceful service and deplorable business practices translate to using other carriers. How Unfortunate!
Jeremey MThe customer service was some of the worst I have ever experienced. The worker who helped us at the front desk was taking random phone calls on his personal phone while taking 45 minutes to get us our rental, swearing at the computer and at people on his personal phone, and throwing things because he was upset at the computer. It was extremely unprofessional, and nonetheless, it took us 45 minutes to receive our rental truck when we were the only ones in there. I had to wait to submit this review in fear of getting charged for damages because after checking the reviews of this location, I see that damage claims are a common issue for customers even when there are no damages to the trucks they they rented. I will never use this U-Haul location again and will not be recommending this location to anyone else.
FRANCESCA MI had a reservation at 8am on 7/28. Since it was before the store opened it was supposed to be a pickup using the online method. When I tried that the site said that the equipment had not been made available. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes your 1800 support staff told me the only thing I could do was wait for the store to open. So an hour after I was supposed to pick up the truck I finally got to do the in person pick up. When I expressed my frustration the manager said she didn't work the day before so she didn't know anything about. No accountability for her staff, not even an apology. She could not have cared less. Extremely poor customer service. Moving is a difficult enough task..uhaul was supposed to help that...instead it did the opposite! Thanks!!

Mike SWaited in line with a reservation for a half hour. Staff not friendly, never acknowledged customers. Poor communication. Was hassled because gas tank was at bottom of the quarter tank fill line. Had to go back to the gas station and put $3 more worth of gas in so the line was in the middle. No consideration that my battery died, had to wait for roadside assistance and pay my movers more to wait. This was the Detroit Rd/ Glendale Rd location.
Kristie SI had a reservation but still had to wait 30 minutes in a line once I return the truck I was charged the extra $15 for the tank not being on half even though I stopped at the gas station and put gas in it before the drop off but I’m just glad I got my stuff moved

I've had this storage for a few years. I had a hardship in January when my husband lost his job and did fall behind. There was only one tote and some table legs and a few stray items. I'm sure you didn't make your money on an auction. I asked when and where so I could purchase my items and was told I couldn't have that information. I am extremely dissatisfied. After years of paying my storage they wouldn't help at all.

If you’re taking things out of the storage unit in the building and they’re parked in the exit and cleaning or inspecting a returned vehicle then we’re stuck waiting for them to finish. I waited 20 minutes for them to move a truck so o could leave. It was 2 employees this particular day, an employee and the manager.

During the day when people are working there, I think they have too many things to do at the same time. I do try to be nice and they try to be helpful but people cannot do five things at once. with better prices much better prices so I think we may move because of the price situation also, not sure the doors are fully secure at night and even during the day. in the scope of their duties, everyone who works there really is as helpful as they possibly can be but I think each one of them needs an assistant -it’s not them it’s the nature of the business – you have no idea what the public is like and there are a lot of rather rough people that come in and their circumstances are difficult so they are already pretty stressed.

One and only complaint is the storage locker monthly fee kept rising dramatically even for long term customers.

Didn't realize it costs 100 to use the dumpster. Went inside and told them I had thrown some of my garbage belongings in and asked how I could get them out. They laughed and offered me no help. Like a ladder or something would've done. I have a bad back. Then when we (my parents) asked how to cancel the unit use they said the manager wouldn't be in til the next day. So I called this morning and they said try back Monday. I was so bummed they had lied After my mom spoke to them somehow a manager was able to help. Let's just say I'm glad I'm out of U-Haul and I won't be referring anyone to them

Unfortunately I can not remember their names:/ any concern I had the daughter reassured me and made this the best experience I ever had with uhaul, or any other moving company for that matter. I was highly impressed on how busy they were and yet the daughter was able to keep up and make everyone still feel like only they had all of her focus. The daughters service was definitely a 10/10. Thanks to her, I will gladly recommend this location to all of my friends and family!

I should have some of my money back. The reason why I move out was.i just couldn't afford it anymore.I got hurt at work my hours was cut cause I had to do light duty.But I will keep you in mind if I ever need a place to rent. MABLE J | Overall ExperienceI will never use this location again. We left a purse in a rental truck. When we returned 10 minutes later to get it, it was gone. It mysteriously turned up by the dumpster a week later with all of the cash missing. The manager refused to look at the security tapes to see how it got there. There was no time for anyone except a staff member to take the purse out of the truck.
