WILLIAM MPick up was efficient, didn't realize until after I was home there was a damage survey, also trailer was dirty and leaked. Luckily, I had transported two sheets of plywood which was under my mattress so it avoided staining. The trailer was a little dated.

CRAIG HAfter renting another truck I tried to explain to the clerk a problem I encountered on my previous rental. The clerk had no interest in hearing my problem and just passed me along to call u-haul's 1-800 phone number. My problem has still never been resolved and I never received a call back as requested!
ROBERT MI tried Truck Share 24/7 ... but won't use it again. The truck was almost empty (below 1/8 tank). The moving equipment I rented was not loaded on the vehicle. I still wound up waiting in line at the counter -- listening to other customers complain -- even though my rental was supposedly '24/7.' And even though I rented a furniture dolly, this location did not have one.

TAMMY GI have been using this location since my arrival in Sarasota 28 years ago. For the first time I will consider going elsewhere. Upon arrival I was cussed out by a young girl working in the returns area because they were very busy and I had the nerve to park in the lane marked 'returns'. She stormed off when I politely asked whether I should come into the counter or would she be getting someone to unhook the trailer. She replied ' whatever....I'm busy;'. I was returning the trailer so I was appalled at the behavior. When I went to the counter to ask the gentleman to help me I relayed what had happened. His response was ' she's very young and they don't know how to behave'. I replied...well I'm an old customer who also happens to be old, and has been using this location for years to move equipment for my employee trainings every other month and I don't deserve to be talked to that way by anyone. He just shrugged his shoulders. You have an employee problem at this location!

BRET LRear sliding door track was bent, which made it harder to lift up the door. When I returned truck they hit the slide track a few times with a hammer and that fixed it . Great people at the Sarasota store.
THOMAS ZRecommend to recommend equipment during business hours to close the bill in person. I was charged for fuel charge even if I returned the truck with the same amount of fuel as provided.

I understand it was not specific to this location so I am saying average; however, I would have rated higher if not for the outage.

GERALYNN GThe man who took my credit card for payment and printed my contract should have told us that BEFORE you leave w/ truck & auto hauler that you need to take photos of odometer, license plates & both truck/auto hauler. This was a terrible oversight. I received a text hrs after my son departed Sarasota w rental truck telling me about this. Every customer NEEDS to be fully informed orally about these steps to do before leaving rental location. Plus the truck I rented had no AC. About 2 hours into trip my son discovered AC did NOT work, temp was high 80s. He had was too far from Sarasota & he did not want to unpack/repack again. Every feature of rental equipment should be working before customers get equipment. This was 2nd major error for this location. I called rental location in afternoon & reported AC not working plus about UHaul text regarding taking photos before we left rental location & lady I spoke was rude, said no manager available & that "this was night crew". UHaul should inform customers if there is rain & you are using cardboard boxes that they can get soaked when customer makes a reservation. We had 4 boxes that were totally soaked on bottom w contents wet.
CHRISTINE CI made sure the fuel tank was 1/4 of a tank as requested and I see on the receipt that it was then documented as 1/8 of a tank by an employee and so I was charged over 31 dollars.
Amanda YSent out with a truck that had a check engine light on and a gas cap error message on the console. No notification of the initial pickup text. Truck would not start for 5 minutes at 2 locations. Almost needed a tow to the drop-off location.

Rented a pickup truck for 4 hours. after we do everything he tells me i need to put a “major credit card” down. so whatever i do. he tells me when i come back i can pay on my debit card and not use the credit card. but when i come back i hand the worker the keys by the door and stand in line. then they tell me they already charged my credit card. this is absolutely ridiculous. i will not be coming back.

DAVID TRENTED A TRUCK FOR 24 HOURS. WEBSITE LISTED HOURS OF OPERATION 7AM-7PM. ARRIVE BEFORE 7PM TO PICK UP TRUCK. DELIVERED TRUCK THE FOLLOWING DAY BEFORE 7PM AND WAS TOLD TRUCK NEEDED TO BE BACK BY 645PM. THE SECOND CLERK ON DUTY SAID HE WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE TIME FOR ME SO I DON'T GET CHARGE FOR A SECOND DAY. THE FOLLOWING DAY I RECEIVED A BILL FOR A 2 DAY CHARGE!

GREGORY WI hauled a car from DeLand FL to Sarasota FL on a 2 axel AT (all tires) trailer. Easy pick up, easy to use, easy drop off.... accept backing the trailer into the tight parking lot space. U-haul locations should have a powered trailer dolly....to prevent issues and renters stress.

JOSEPH CConduct a thorough safety check of trucks going on long distance, one-way trips. Items from a previous driver were left in the glove compartment, windshield wipers were ineffective, and tire pressure was unbalanced.

FRANK MI rented the larger hand truck and it was not available; apparently a person can reserve even if the store doesn't have one. Especially in today's electronic age, this is unbelievable.

Hallways not clean always debris of some sort in them I had even taken a broom and dust pan and swept down the hallway around my unit several times it was filthy. Then we were not alerted when the climate control was off and our storage was compromised so basically we were paying for a non climate storage and found out from another source when I called and went into the unit and asked it was true and the manager says they had been working on it. Weeks went by no climate control, yes I wasn’t told no call no email nothing! But when my bill is due no problems sending reminder and email and text? I am very disappointed as I have used UHaul storage in other states this issue never happened I had expected the same clean service Uhaul had offered and we received before this was the absolute worst. The manager very arrogant doesn’t seem to care at this facility and I understand good reliable help is difficult to obtain but please don’t take it out on your customers whom keep your business going.

JOHN R | Overall ExperienceI experienced many issues with this Uhaul location but especially with management (Store Manager named Cherokee). The office never answers the phone and it's re-routed to national with one hour+ wait times. You cannot make a partial payment online or through an operator, only through the store manager. There were two manager transitions and the 1st manager had changed my due date from the 4th to the 18th. The recent manager said, "well, that's why he's no longer the manager of this store" and threatened to sell my things on their auction on Wednesday (in 2 days) but the letter I had just received 2 days prior said I had to pay full amount by 8/1 or things would be sold 8/18 (and she was threatening 7/27). Anyway, I have never experienced such poor customer service and communication from an establishment, let alone a store manager. I then call national. I am informed my account was paid in full with my credit card on file 3 days prior(so why was she demanding payment over the phone and threatening to sell my things?! Even saying my things were worth more than my bill!!) I was not set up on automatic payments and was never informed via phone message/letter/email this was happening. I went to Uhaul to start moving my things and there's a lock on my unit. I go to the office and the store manager, Cherokee, is immediately rude AGAIN saying, "well, are you going to pay your bill?". I had to tell her to look in her system and she could see it had been paid and they are the ones that ran my card?! The day after I arrived at night and she and another employee were there when I arrived and 10 minutes in the alarm starts going off and we had to stop loading the car and leave. The very next evening I arrived and there were several cardboard boxes, garbage,a rat trap with poison balls spilled out, and a hand truck in front of my unit. I feel this was done in retaliation because when we argued over the phone. These are a few examples of her unprofessionalism, lack of tact and communication skills, and her passive-aggressive pettiness to retaliate to my frustrations. I emptied the unit a week early and will never deal with such immaturity again. I suggest you hire store managers that have college educations and a desire towards professionalism.

It was always difficult to pull a car up for loading and unloading. The facility is more equipped for renting out uhauls than providing accessible storage.

Other then that I will never use UHAUL again! I ended up having to pay more for a truck I shouldn't have gotten charged for because the lack of knowledge to help me get INSIDE a storage lacks. I got sent to a 2nd place just to be able to be moved and was given access, but arrived and access didn't work. Again, thank you to the manager who came out living far just to help me get moved in!! The confusion, and lack of description to help with the moving process was very unsetting. My move in process was very frustrating and pushed us back and caused alot of headaches. Then about an hour roughly on hold waiting for a customer rep didn't help much either! First time ever using uhaul and just very unsatisfied with them.

Jerry W | Overall Experience90 degrees is unacceptable. I understand it's Florida summer...but advertising a place as "climate controlled" should mean the temperature is controlled. I took pictures of the thermostat in the faciliy. Right when we got there it was at 90. After 15 mins it crept up to 94. When I brought this to the staff's attention, they didn't seem to think it was a problem. One of the associates even joked that the facility was without A/C for 2 full weeks last month. I was storing expensive, handmade acoustic guitars...
