khoa L.I would suggest that no one ever use U-HAUL. We had the WORST experience with U-HAUL after we picked up the 26' truck and headed to Sarasota, FL from Missouri. From there it was a DISASTER. The truck would not go over 70 mph on the highway. The TRUCK CABIN SHOOK like a roller coaster the entire time. I was actually NAUSEOUS from the cabin shaking so much, I nearly puked. Also the RIGHT TIRE PULLED to the right. After the long trip and arriving at Sarasota, we went to get storage. It was on a Sunday and we had the MOST RUDE people we have ever ran into in Sarasota. There was a guy who was filling in for the manager who claimed he didn't do anything at U-HAUL but sit at a desk and tell people that there was nothing he could do. The only effort he made was when I asked him to see if other U-HAUL stores had any available storage. He told us to drive to the airport and that they has storage available. Well, AFTER A 25-minute drive we pulled in to find that location had been booked for a while. The manager there said there was storage back at the facility in Sarasota! In fact, that person was right. So, we drove back to the original location and the guy who claimed he was just there to do nothing said there was a unit available, but that there was a bit of trash in the storage unit. Since he didn't have anything to do all day, you would think he would just throw away a bit of trash. But, no. So…we decided to show up Monday morning at 7am. There was NO ONE THERE. Finally a manager showed up and helped us to get the storage unit. During that time, I was driving this 26' truck all over because so many other customers had dropped their truck off too. On this tiny lot, the U-HAUL employees kept instructing me to back up the truck so they could move another truck. The U-HAUL EMPLOYEES ASKED ME to place the truck in between two other 26' trucks…which had about 10 inches on each side. I then had to back up the truck so they could move another truck. My guess was that they were INTENTIONALLY trying to see if I would damage the truck SO THEY COULD MAKE MORE MONEY OFF US. Fortunately, I was able to maneuver the truck all over this small parking lot at U-HAUL while workers looked on as I moved the truck here and there, without causing an accident. I could go on about the ROTTEN service, but I will stop there. We will NEVER, EVER use U-HAUL again. I am demanding my money back or some portion. This was the WORST SERVICE I ever received.

Daniel M.I experienced many issues with this Uhaul location but especially with management (Store Manager named Cherokee). The office never answers the phone and it's re-routed to national with one hour+ wait times. You cannot make a partial payment online or through an operator, only through the store manager. There were two manager transitions and the 1st manager had changed my due date from the 4th to the 18th. The recent manager said, "well, that's why he's no longer the manager of this store" and threatened to sell my things on their auction on Wednesday (in 2 days) but the letter I had just received 2 days prior said I had to pay full amount by 8/1 or things would be sold 8/18 (and she was threatening 7/27). Anyway, I have never experienced such poor customer service and communication from an establishment, let alone a store manager. I then call national. I am informed my account was paid in full with my credit card on file 3 days prior(so why was she demanding payment over the phone and threatening to sell my things?! Even saying my things were worth more than my bill!!) I was not set up on automatic payments and was never informed via phone message/letter/email this was happening. I went to Uhaul to start moving my things and there's a lock on my unit. I go to the office and the store manager, Cherokee, is immediately rude AGAIN saying, "well, are you going to pay your bill?". I had to tell her to look in her system and she could see it had been paid and they are the ones that ran my card?! The day after I arrived at night and she and another employee were there when I arrived and 10 minutes in the alarm starts going off and we had to stop loading the car and leave. The very next evening I arrived and there were several cardboard boxes, garbage,a rat trap with poison balls spilled out, and a hand truck in front of my unit. I feel this was done in retaliation because when we argued over the phone. These are a few examples of her unprofessionalism, lack of tact and communication skills, and her passive-aggressive pettiness to retaliate to my frustrations. I emptied the unit a week early and will never deal with such immaturity again. I suggest you hire store managers that have college educations and a desire towards professionalism.

I had hired movers that I hired thru Uhaul waiting an hour while I scrambled to find another storage unit. With the exception of the staff at the Sarasota south site, my overall experience with your company was horrendous.

The guy working there said I could come back later for the trailer. When I went back later, it took almost an hour, I had to pay for the trailer again and because “the machine was down†I had to go get cash. Two guys put the trailer on and, as I began to pull out into the streets, I noticed two trailers were connected. So I had to go in again to have it corrected. The whole process was miserable!

It was always difficult to pull a car up for loading and unloading. The facility is more equipped for renting out uhauls than providing accessible storage.

I got sent to a 2nd place just to be able to be moved and was given access, but arrived and access didn't work. Again, thank you to the manager who came out living far just to help me get moved in!! The confusion, and lack of description to help with the moving process was very unsetting. My move in process was very frustrating and pushed us back and caused alot of headaches. Then about an hour roughly on hold waiting for a customer rep didn't help much either! First time ever using uhaul and just very unsatisfied with them.

Jerry W. | Overall Experience90 degrees is unacceptable. I understand it's Florida summer...but advertising a place as "climate controlled" should mean the temperature is controlled. I took pictures of the thermostat in the faciliy. Right when we got there it was at 90. After 15 mins it crept up to 94. When I brought this to the staff's attention, they didn't seem to think it was a problem. One of the associates even joked that the facility was without A/C for 2 full weeks last month. I was storing expensive, handmade acoustic guitars...
