The online check in was a headache. To get verified and call a friend and it doesn’t work and they say they called but the person is sitting next to me and phone didn’t ring was a hassle. Then online check I expect to not have to go into the store but you still have to anyways.

Your app is flaky. 1. I wish that it had been suggested I start the pick up process at home instead of sitting in the parking lot trying to get through the app just to end up going inside to get the keys anyway. Drop off was worse, again because of the app. First, it couldn't detect my location. I'm not sure why. My location is always on. There should be a link that takes you right to the setting that needs to be changed to allow uhaul to access my location. When that failed, I was given the option to scan a code but no instructions where to find the code? Is it in the truck? On the building? On a sign someplace? I still don't know. Then we moved on to the mileage and gas which seemed pretty straightforward. Took a Pic and then moved on to 900 questions. I quickly selected no to them all, clicked submit and bam it took me back to the beginning. My ride was waiting on me. I went back to the uhaul, started it and turned on the headlights, took another picture, locked it back up. Reanswered the 90 million questions and finally, as my ride was urging me to just find a drop slot for the keys and get in the car... SUCCESS. The app should save your progress at each new screen so that if it flakes out at least I wouldn't have had to start over, I just could have hit submit again since there were no errors the first time I went through drop off.

We broke down twice because of flat tires. The tire sensor sensor was on when I picked it up and I mentioned that to them they had did nothing about it. We are four hours late getting to our destination because of the second breakdown, which took the Guy 2 1/2 hours to fix it. The people that were waiting for us in Pratt Kansas to unload the U-Haul with us being four hours late put them behind at their next location so they could not wait for us to get there. I want a refund or some sort of compensation?

This is the smallest gripe, but when I arrived the keys were not ready. She thought she had made a mistake with my reservation and gave it to someone else. The keys were simply left in the vehicle and instead of just checking she made attempts to call someone about it. Other than that things were great and both cashiers were knowledgeable and respectful.

Porshia was a sweetheart. I would reccomend counting the drawer down in the back room to the other gal (She was also nice, btw). I could have walked up and stolen a good pile of money off the front counter. I stood a few feet back while cash was counted on the front counter, to avoid discomfort. Overall, still a great experience. Truck was clean, service involved some casual conversation and laughs. I needed that after a ling day at work that led to moving furniture until bedtime. Thanks ya'll.

Scheduled a pick up at different location in West Des Moines two weeks in advance. Two days prior to pick up U-Haul called and said they didn't have the trailer available at that location even though they said it was available when I reserved. How can you plan a move if they won't honor the reservation and don't tell you that until two days in advance of pick up. Apparently U-Haul is now a first come first serve business which makes it extremely hard to plan a move. Probably going to look for different options in the future.

I had a wonderful experience here because of Anthony. I forgot my hitch at home and he had one he let me use. He hooked up the trailer for me quickly. He unhooked it and moved it quickly when I return the trailer. He was more than helpful, he was also very friendly. And there's nothing I could have asked for more. Thank you, Anthony!

-Either not have only one person working during a peak time or hire more people. When I was there, there was a couple people before me, and 2 or 3 people behind me. -Do a better job of customer service training. The gentleman who helped me was very friendly, but he was TOO informal. I don't want to hear swearing when I'm being waited on. Don't get me wrong, the guy was nice and got my friend and I taken care of, but in the process, he wasn't very professional in his deameanor, nor conversations with us. Nor was how he was dressed. A couple tank tops and untied high top sneakers....when he first approached me, I thought he was someone off the street! I really hate to say this: but as a SS this recent experience made me understand why some people stereotype us, which I can't stand when that happens! Just please tighten up things there, show some SS pride! Thank you!

I did everything on the app. The app was glitching and wouldn't let me move forward as it kept not accepting photos. Trinity was onsite and was able to get me taken care of really quick. Highly recommend just for the extra mile they went to get me onto my move.

My issue is not with this specific location. I was called and told my original location had to be moved bc they overbooked so they switched it to army post. I arrived and the lady who switched it put it to a counter pick up instead of mobile pick up so I could not get the keys when I arrived and had to drive yet again to another location. Wasting my time over an hour.

Three keypads at this location. It was cold and it took forever to and a phone call to customer service to find out what I was doing wrong. The unit was hard to find with even the map. Stairs were brutal when carrying things up over and over again. On the bright side it was well lit. My daughters found the bathroom convenient. There was four carts to use and made the job easier to do. We were able to back up to the doors to get closer to the unit. Trash cans were nice for things we broke during the move. Wish there was a few more.

Rough area of DSM. Staff did their best under the circumstances to make me feel safe. I encountered an issue of people sneaking in and smoking drugs in the facility. Being short staffed it was impossible for employees to keep track of the those people and wait on customers. Overall experience with staff and them helping customers was good.

The entire process from renting the truck in Wisconsin to obtaining storage was frustrating and I will not be likely to use U Haul next time. However, the lady, who I think was a manager, was incredibly nice and helpful. She really went out of her way to make things better and Eben got people to help me with some heavy items. I was told extension cord was ok to use since units had no lights in them. One day I was in back of my full unit when my extension cord got unplugged and thrown down and then my cries for help went unanswered. I was all alone in my dark unit with zero light. I was immediately worried of beaking a leg or falling on something. I'll never come back to this one. I also had gotten that unit because I wanted climate control and they put me on the side that wasn't.

I order my truck and storage was told on the website when I made the reservation I would receive 1 month free and then when I get there I was advised payment wasn't to be taken and had to redo all the info again with rep at location then asked about the free month and I was told it was unavailable but I got an email stating I could today. Oh not to mention 1535 was given first it was already rented but I went off YOUR WEBSITE about the size and there is NO WAY that size is a 1 bedroom. All I got was an apology not good enough. I'm canceling my unit and finding a new unit with a different company. Only good thing was they discount the desposit when I picked it up my truck.

I recommend people to go there but until I went to pay with cash at the end to close out my storage until this Angela girl give me a fake receipt and went back to close out and the store manager goes that was a fake one and I said I had to make her go back on the cameras to look back and told them everything step-by-step and told her what was going on that day and they had to go back and tell the girls girls what was going on I always deal with the same girl but she was not there I was pretty messed up and now I have to go backOver there after two weeks of getting letters in the mail saying my thing is not closed out saying I still owe $134 to U-Haul is getting ridiculous because it’s not cleared up yet a waste of time for me to drive over there and get this cleared up no I think they should reverse me for something I have to go clean up their mess because this girl did not put my money in the drawer and make a payment on my stuff but they have to go back to cameras

Norfolk VA. Whoever was previously in charge had led me to believe my unit was cleaned out and all items lost early into my lease. When the current manager called me and told me that it was still there, waived the month between when I was told it was gone and when he was reviewing records, and made it very easy for me to continue the lease. If not for him I may have lost several momentos and personal items that are important to me. Clean out was easy and it was quick getting out of the store after. Overall its been a good experience. No signs of anyone trying to get into the units, it was tyically clean and quiet inside.

The facility was always dirty and covered with litter. Many times the U-Haul card access door did not work, we had to wait in a long line, to ask an employee to open the access door.

I'm on autopay and got charged for a late fee. I followed the instructions from the customer service department and they are trying to charge me after I moved out. They never answer the phone. Awful.

The parking and loading/unloading situation is very unwieldy. Vehicles often have to block one another and the main exit lane was blocked by a truck. The location probably needs more parking space.

The only reason I wouldn’t is the parking- the quantity of trucks and trailors make it nearly impossible some days to park and access the storage unit. Employees perhaps should park elsewhere?

The storage unit itself was creepy, not lighted at all. We had to provide our own light. Too expensive for the outdated unit. Newer units are easy and very well lit.
