Wont fix their mistakes made by their employees

It a ok job


I rented a car dolly and the Uhaul associate connected my car dolly. While driving down the highway, my car was disconnected from the straps and damaged. The Uhaul associate did not connect the safety chain to the car(they were still connected as if they were not needed. The Uhaul associate only connected the straps, and also advised me to put my car in neutral. The tow truck company advised me that my car was suppose to be left in park so that my tires did not move around to help remove the straps from my tires. He also told me that if the safety chains were attached, it would have caught the car and not allowed my car to fall from the car tow dolly.

I spoke with a gal from this location on January 9th which was a Saturday. At this time I discussed the rental agreement and explained I'd return it by either late Monday night January 11th or by Tuesday January the 12th and would pay in full. Unfortunately this was not relayed or properly documented to corporate office and then cooperate office reported the truck stolen. So imagine my surprise when I heard two police officers banging on my door at 1:55 pm January 12th. Which obviously is Tuesday and the day I'm returning this rental. I stepped out of my home and got commanded to face the wall and put my hands behind my back and then arrested. It wasn't until a couple minutes had gone by that I was Informed I was being charged with vehicle theft from uhaul. I was completely bewildered and confused as I'm no thief. I begged and pleaded with the officer to let me call uhaul and straighten out the mix up , to which he refused and himself and his partner were more worried about the 4 other cars on my property without plates. Non of which were stolen , just simply due to Covid-19 it's hard to get an appointment scheduled. So long story short. The officer did call uhaul to verify if they still wished to press charges and made it seem as though they recovered a stolen vehicle thru great police work and true grit. The reality of it is the truck was parked in my front yard with my 22 foot flat bed trailer attached. I live on one of the busiest streets in my area and on a corner lot. Basically the whole damn town could know the truck was there. Now does that seem strange to whomever may be reading this. If A person was truly stealing a vehicle why would they park it directly in front of their house for the whole world to see? Don't worry I'll wait. So I was booked into jail and then my mugshot ended up on several of Facebooks group page inmate sites. I'm getting flooded with phone calls and messages and I look like a piece of trash thief. It cost me 1000 dollars to bond out and the next day I walked into the local office I rented the truck from and paid in full what was owed and cleaned the truck out completely. The manager/ owner Brian was there and pleasant and openly admitted that was his wife I spoke with that Saturday and that there was some miss communication there and he apologized. So.... see where I'm going with this. I expect uhaul to make this right and I also want a letter from uhaul apologizing for what took place and the sooner the better because time is of the essence for uhaul before I start making legal phone calls. And we all know those never end good. Especially when a consumer is wrongly accused of a crime and then arrested for said crime and charged. I expect a response back no later than Monday the 25th of January with what uhaul intends to do regarding this matter and to satisfy my concerns. The ladies were not using masks. I came to pick the rental up and they didn't know where the keys where. I had to go on in the store. I did mobile pick up and drop off for reason.


The trailer pulled hard compared to other trailers our friend has pulled.


Hire front desk staff with actual customer service experience. They argued over petty things amongst themselves as I waited to pay/pick up truck. Unacceptable. Also too much hidden fees my expected price was 58+tax overall I paid $118. Called manager to get clarification as this was my first time ever renting a uhaul, but he was very unhelpful. Unbelievable I could've used the $118 to pay toward professional movers!

I waited in the cold for verification of my alternate contacts, when I could have done all that before I even showed up or before I was told to locate the truck. I wasn't aware of any of that when I started my mobile check in. Seems like some of that could be done prior to showing up.

This is not the drop off location I was given. I returned the truck to Altoona as stated in my contract. I never received a final receipt, either


Customer support was very good, they assisted me in locating a car transporter 2 hours away that was suppose to be at the location via reservation. Agent stated that I would receive a $50 discount due to reservations not reserving the car transporter as requested. as very disappointed on what I had to deal with apron arriving to pick up the truck and transporter, horrible experience in Des Moines, IA.

I only have a digital copy of my license and the app prevented me from uploading which prevented me from taking picking up a truck. So I walked kntk tbe office and that is when Kathy, the do it All lady at this site saw me and stopped what she was doing and walked in from the parking lot where she was warming up trucks and greeted me warm and friendly. She hear my listened to the explanation of my situation and immediately provided solutions. Within ten minutes of thinking I was in trouble of failing my project, kathy had me out the door, in a truck, and on my way. My experience with Uhaul was awesome and our business relationship is strong Thank you

I prefer this location because they are full service. Not just a drop lot. They have a full staff so you don't have to wait while one employee takes care of 10 customers.

I was upset because on Saturday I RESERVED a. Uhaul for a certain location and when I got there to pick it up they gave it away!!! So I had to drive across town to another location! I was already pressed for time and then I had to do more running around because someone didn't do something right!

Don't double charge a customer been on the phone with U-Haul because they charged us the same amount twice.


Location is notoriously understaffed and the staff that is there are very unprofessional.
