Communication in the end was lacking. Service reps were friendly and really tried to be helpful (they did not have the information that only the end facility could answer). I had to physically go over the U-haul facility to confirm the container was there (unable to talk with them on the phone). Also received incorrect and confusing emails. Example, one stated that a new box was ready with pads . Perhaps if it had read: Your U-Box has arrived at (Facility Name and Address), with a direct contact to the facility would be a lot better. Going into your regional system and not being able to communicate with the end point facility really does nothing.George G.

The best Uhaul location. The office is clean bright and comfortable. The staff & management are knowledgeable, helpful, very pleasant to deal with. The trucks are always clean. We just rented a storage unit, and it is just perfect. Brightly lit, very clean, cool and easily detectible that it's temperature controlled, carts are in very good condition and most of all, the *wide,* automatic opening doors are a big plus! Simplify the mobile pickup app. It was painful to register, then requires a second form of ID such as passport which no one Carrie's with them unless traveling. I wound up using the counter checkin.Scott W.

The local uhaulers (who dropped off and picked up my boxes) were friendly, professional, and reliable. The phone and chat representatives were horrendous and a downright pain to deal with. Every time I spoke or chatted with someone they would give me COMPLETELY different information. They often hung up on me when I would call them out for these blatant mistakes or transfer me to a not working number so the line would cut off. They were incompetent or probably completely untrained.M Joanne K.
I think the uBox system is a great system. The problems are with the very slow and clunky computer site. 4X I asked for extra pads, and was told later that it wasn't on the invoice so they were added again. I never rec'd them but was charged for them. I used 48 pads for 2 boxes which worked out OK. I asked for extra items to come with the ubox and that didn't happen either. It's difficult to see invoices and what I'm actually being charged for. It's also hard to make any adjustments. I'd call customer service and they'd say they couldn't change anything and had to go through a different location. It was frustrating. The uhaul location picking up the boxes kept changing the time for pickup and wound up coming a day late. However the actual movement and shipment of the uboxes went well. I think it's a pretty cool system.Dale K.

Great service! Thank you! I requested and received new type of "metal" container and it was a game changer. Solid, sturdy, hooks to attach rope and so, and looks like it was water proof/resistant. Survived Florida storms and our items were dry all the time. One comment I have is that inscription on the UBox door and all documentation mention 24 furniture pads included, but I had only 12. 12 was sufficient for me, and 24 might take too much of space, but your documentation should reflect correct number of them. The friendlyness of the customer service staff at the Spring Hill location has tremendously improved after the manager has been reassigned last month. He was not a people person. Customer service in IL was excellent with communication and guidance. Service in Sparkleberry SC was horrible, non-informative and missed every deadline promised. Zero updates and didn't show up for promised delivery date ( without notification). I had to get a hotel room and send my help hope. I had received a text notification that the 2 units would arrive between 8-10am but never showed. They arrived the next day at 2 pm after repetitive calls. Uhaul staff are not trained to answer questions about ubox anything. They didn't tell me that I need to hire the movers for the day after the boxes arrive. No one called to say they were being delivered at my destination until an hour before they showed up. The Uhaul driver hit a pillar in my driveway trying to get the boxes up to my house because they didn't have the proper equipment to unload the boxes. Maybe uhaul should leave the box idea to PODsIna D.

I really appreciate the security functions at the West Dundee Uhaul storage. At first it is difficult to comprehend, not being able to go directly to me unit. But, after an alarm or two, I learned to swipe in and out of the storage. The down part about my experience is that no one on the property ever answers the phone. My calls were always redirected to the 800 number. And the capabilities at the operator center differ from the local Uhaul - Ugh, the phone calls. Our Family was in a very difficult position. We were givin 48 hours to move from our 3 year home. Your store in Anchorage, who we were already a customer were very condescending from the first day, judemental and actually locked us out from unloading the UHAUL rented truck, Even after paying and selecting 24hour access. We were told we should learn to plan for these things by the supervisor who was working. Granted it was Sunday, and for me it was a long day. My family was in the car parked next to the truck and the kids were worried about their clothes and things. When picking up trailer it was covered in motor oil inside trailer When looking at 2 other units they were also very dirty inside. I ended up taking 1 and having to go to a car wash to pressure wash it myself. Your mop isn't enough. It made me way behind schedule and my helpers cancel because of it. A dead mouse was removed from my storage unit when I initially got the unit which I understand. When I moved my items in the next day, there was just an awful putrid smell in the unit. I sprayed some air freshener which helped but I hope my items don’t absorb the unpleasant smell. 1st time using storage facility. Pulled up to overhead door, which automaticly opened. Went to my stoage shed location, and there was a tag fastened to door stating unit was clean and available. NO WHERE ON THE TAG DID IT STATE YOU HAD TO DIS-ARM THE UNIT OR BUILDING ALARM WOULD BE ACTIVATED !!!!! Opened the door to unit to make sure free lock was inside, and alarm was activated.
