This was the worst customer service I have received in my entire life. I called a customer service representative directly to ensure I did everything the right way. I called/placed the order for the U-BOX on 12/7/2020. The woman I spoke to guaranteed me that as long as I had the box packed and picked up by 12/21/2020, I would be guaranteed delivery outside my home in Washington, DC by 1/9/2021, with it arriving at the Takoma Park, MD location by 1/8/2021. On Friday, 1/8 (the day it was supposed to arrive in Takoma Park and the day I was flying out to move to DC), I received a call from the Takoma Park, MD location telling me my box have been delayed until Monday (1/11) at the earliest, and that they wouldn't even know more about the location of my box until then. I explained to the woman that I was flying across the country with moving assistance. We all paid for flights for the specific reason to unpack by U-Box the next morning at 8am when it was supposed to be delivered outside my new home. The woman (her name is Chas Brown) was incredibly unhelpful and basically told me she had no information other than the box had been delayed. I was obviously very emotional considering this totally derailed my plans. When I tried to call back for more information, she refused to take my calls and I could hear her in the background explaining what to tell the employee talking to me instead of just taking the call herself. I had to reschedule the third-party movers to drop the U-Box off, as well as other appointments like setting up Wifi and other utilities. Everything was dependent on this U-Box arriving on 1/8 and delivered to me 1/9, and I was guaranteed delivery by a Uhaul employee that unless there was "inclement weather or an act of God" (her words, not mine). Worse, UHAUL had terrible communication throughout the whole process. I had to keep calling to get more information about the location of my box or if the box would in fact even be delivered the following week, on 1/16. Every member of UHAUL staff that I spoke with told me a different story every time I called, ranging from telling me my box had already arrived at the facility, that it was on it's way, or that it was going to be further delayed. It wasn't until I took the issue to Twitter where I finally got answers from a member of the UHAUL team, and even that was uncertain. When the Uhaul finally arrived, it was bolted shut. No one notified me before hand that it would be bolted shut outside of the lock I had provided, and had to go out and purchase tools to remove the bolt. Truly the worst experience I've ever had with a company or organization from top to bottom. Your employees are rude and unhelpful, the guaranteed delivery date is a scam, and overall led me to have one of the most stressful experiences of my life.

The door hardware was rather rusty and difficult to operate. I lubricated all of it with WD40 and some motor oil in order to make everything easier to open and close the door.

We were told we would receive a 25.00 refund if our truck was clean and everything was acceptable. No one wanted to help us with that. As we were driving I kept getting phone calls as to a different drop off location. I refused because I needed to drop it off as close as possible.im not sure I would use you agian or even recommend you to others.

If you say you're open until 5 p.m. on Sunday night, then someone should be inside the store until 5 p.m. I did everything in my power to get our U-Haul unloaded at our storage unit, get gas and back to the U-Haul by 4:58 p.m. I know that's close, but I pulled up to the back area thinking someone would come right out. We waited approximately 5 minutes and then assumed no one was there. I walked to the front to look in the windows; no one had left while we were sitting in the return parking area, the desk area was dark, so they were obviously already gone when we arrived. We unloaded everything else we had in back of the truck, and started the process of online return. I'm just disappointed that everyone was already gone before closing time. Overall, we've had excellent service, and many times returned the vehicle after hours, but this time I expected someone would be there to do the return for me, which is much more timely than the whole online process!

15foot Truck ate up a LOT of gas - but it handled well. Put in 20 gallons for 175 miles traveled.

Whole process went almost flawlessly. I say almost because our packed U-Boxes were delivered in AZ from IL a day later than promised. Since trucks can break down the possibility of late arrival is to be anticipated. We were able to easily work around the glitch. Other than that all went very well. Pricing is reasonable and competitive. We will work with U-Haul again if/when the need arises.

The check in and check out process when there is staff present is way better. That was my experience this time. The staff was friendly and expedient. One last thing I left something in the vehicle that was a personal item of significance to me. The staff was very quick to call me and let me know I left it behind.

The checkout process when the store is closed is a nice amenity but extremely awkward to facilitate. It could not find my reservation. It probably took me about 20 minutes to leave the vehicle there. That process needs to be improved

I rented a 20 foot van, and two furniture dollies for 24 hours on 10-29-20. I told the rep I would travel approximately 50 miles during the rental time. The rep printed the paperwork, retrieved the two furniture dollies, and quickly reviewed the printed paperwork with me while intentionally skipping the itemized bill portion, walked me to the van, placed the dollies in the vans cargo area and handed me the keys and paperwork. Later that day I reviewed itemized bill portion and noticed the rep also charged me for a utility dolly, which I did not request or use, I turned in the van around 6:15 pm on 10-29-20, informed the rep ( a different rep) of the erroneous charge for the dolly, he said he would adjust the bill and email me the receipt. The next day I checked my email and still had not received the receipt. I checked my bank account and noticed the charge was still incorrect. I called the U-Haul rental center and. Informed the rep (a different rep) about the erroneous charge, he stated he would credit off the erroneous charge (which wasn't done). In summary, I have used U-Haul several times in the past, and have always been pleased with the customer service, this experience will motivate me to use a competitor next time.

I arrived at 6:58 pm to drop off my rental the personal saw me park the truck approached the door turn around and started walking back to desk turned around and came to the door and said he already shut down for the night and said I would have to do the return on my phone,never really explained the process. I didn't realize I had to do it at the location at that very moment tried doing it when I got home and couldn't because I needed to be at the drop off location. Was charged $20.00 for late night return when truck was turned in a day ahead of return date. My wife called and explained that there should not be a my charge argued with the employee for 15 minutes and finally got it refunded

In the era of a world pandemic, safety should be the MAJOR priority. Unfortunately, all personnel involved in the movement of the u-boxes, either delivering them or picking the up, were NOT WEARING MASKS. I was wearing a mask at all times when they were at by home. I am trying to protect them, but they seem to have no interest in protecting me. I would have given an excellent rating if masks were worn, but average seems to be the norm with those not taking the Trump virus seriously.

I had far too many furniture pads. I think it was 52 packs in my Ubox when it arrived. The facility was very nice and picked up the blankets for me so I wouldn't have to drive them over.

This questionnaire shows how little UHaul knows about me, what my experience was with your website, and your products and services. I never went engaged with UHaul's physical location so asking me to rate a location is completely invalid yet I didn't have the option to select "Not applicable". I'm sure the location was lovely and looks identical to the other 2 UHaul locations I've been to in the past 4 months. I ordered 2 UBoxes that were delivered to a residential address from this location, then they were stored there until they were taken to another UBox storage facility, then delivered to my home.
