I rented a two wheel tow dolly that I needed to get a vehicle off the highway . The gentleman that set me up with the unit was very nice and helpful however that is not were my overall experience ended. The tire strap on the passenger side had been cut off at least a foot shorter than the other side. It was not long enough to strap the tire. By brother came and contacted a tow truck to get the truck off the road. I contacted uhaul roadside and let them know what was ring and they told me to tell the location when I returned the dolly. The location first told me I would get a 10 percent discount snd acted as if I was making it up. I of course contested because I could not use the unit at all and showed the attendant the text I made to uhaul roadside assistance. She showed the manager again and then came back and told me they would call me later. I never received a call.JOHN C.

The cargo area of the truck was dirty. We didn't look or notice until we started loading our things. There was dirt, and broken glass pieces.RANDALL B.
I had my belongings in storage for 3 years. I was supposed to move out of state to teach for a year but it fell through and I ended up living with family. I wasn’t pleased that rent increased 2x in those 3 years and for what? It was also horrible if I needed to reach someone. Rarely was able to. Often when I did the agents were rude. I paid most often in advance a month or more and yet when I needed just a few more days to move my stuff out I was forced to pay a full month more and told there would be no prorated return. I literally paid an additional month for like 7 days before I moved out; an expense I didn’t need while trying to move into a new home.Shauna S. | Overall Experience

Communication of what is happening and when. Upon returning the unit, I was simply asked did I pay card or cash and since I paid card I was good to go. I took it on faith that I was going to be charged the right amount for the mileage used. If checking a unit in is going to be handled as the guy accepts the key at the parking spot, I would say a mobile device should be used to complete the transaction and provide a proper receipt.Justin W.

My reservation was canceled without my knowledge and there was no compensation for it. I had to call myself and inquire of my reservation and was initially told no trucks were available of the size I wanted and if I wanted a bigger truck I'd have to pay the difference in fee. I was then told by another U-haul rep that there was a program that I'd get $50 credit if my reservation was canceled due to a U-haul lack of equipment but I never got that as the rep I was transferred to and store manager didn't know about this. Store manager (that helped us) was not very friendly either. Just disappointed with the overall experience.THERESA W.

I turned in the truck a day early. Apparently the guy at the desk forgot to â€œcheck me inâ€ I was called the next day for a missing truck which I had parked at the return location. Went inside turned in keys watched him fill in my info. And marked it as returned on the uhaul website and somehow it was not checked in?James H.

Well I tried to call before I went to pick up the truck and was on the phone for 15 mins and no one answered. It was a recording that they were assisting other customers. When we got there there were 2 people at the desk and I dont believe that they had any intentions on answering the phone.Rebecca M.

I set the pick up time for 12pm to pick up a 20' truck, and I have the e-mail to show it. When I got there I was told that I wasn't supposed to pick up the truck until 1:45 and a woman had the truck and wanted to keep it 3 days longer. There was no guarantee that she was going to show up on time with the truck so I had to get a different size truck. I didn't have much of a choice other than to get a different size truck. I HAD to move my stuff out that day and needed the truck at 12 like I originally scheduled.Alana V.

Customer service was great. However, my uhaul door would not closed. When I got the truck and drove off excited to be moving to my new home. The door was open. I was not able to close the door at all during my move. When I return the truck the representative struggled to get the door closed. I was afraid I would loose my fingers trying to shut the door. I requested a two wheel moving cart. When I showed up to pick up my rental truck I was told they had no two wheel moving carts. I had several pieces of heavy furniture and a washer to move down a flight of stairs. I had to locate a store that sold two wheel carts and then go an buy one! That added approximately 1.5 hours of extra time to my move. That was the only bad moving experience: however, it was a bit of a heavy hitter!DENNIS H.
The location is terrible as the "enter" portion is right after an overpass. The "exit" is easier to find so people come in that way and the facility bottlenecks with several people dropping/picking up. My truck bed had not been swept. I received two dolleys I didn't ask for laying in the bed, so I had to tie them up myself. The cabin was dirty. People's hair on seats. Freshly spilled cola in holder. Half-filled water container under seat. It's like they just got it in and sent it out without inspection. I asked they guy at the counter how many miles I could drive on a tankful of gas. He had no clue and could care less. The truck itself, not including cleanliness, was fine. Less than 10 mpg on the highway.Jeffrey E.

Wear masks especially after you tell me a story of your girlfriends family who had two people die. I care about you wear a damn mask. Also the manager still owes me a refund for the first truck i rented...thry came and did a recovery when it wasnt due back yet and i arranged through customer service to allow a tow truck to take ot back for me. Also when i rented a room i asked himif their was pne on the first floor and he moved me to a larger one without my knowledge or consent so im also owed the difference between the proces for what i contracted for compared to whst i was charged. Talked to one regional manager months ago a few times and also left w voicemail for one above her in Indy and also played the audio of when i called himand he changed the room and no proce or size was mentioned. Im about to just hire an attorney this is ridiculous.Shane B.

I rented the U-Haul from the Southside Blvd location and the lady (short black lady) that was training someone else told me that she couldn't give me Terre Haute IN as a drop off and she would just not enter any location she told me to call 800-GoUhaul when I arrive & they would let me pick a drop off location When I called and waited 15 minutes on hold I was told I had a drop location in Indianapolis already assigned to me. I told her I wanted Terre Haute because Indianapolis is almost 2 hrs away. The lady said I had to talk to a different person because I wanted to change my drop off location and gave me a different number to call and again I waited 15 minutes on hold The lady told me at first there would be a charge for location change but after telling her what happened she spoke to a manager and they waived the feeClay B.

Everything was great except I noticed what I believe to be mildew on some of my stored items. So far It has come off I believe except for on some pillows. Obviously the humidity control was not up to par in the actual storage units but for the most part my things were stored safe in a place all summer. Had an issue with access cards not working. According to staff their "system" was not allowing us access to the facility on several occasions.
