A very large majority of the staff at Uhaul do not understand how to navigate through, process, or otherwise provide meaningful assistance with Ubox services. Morning staff is consistently more helpful than evening staff, so call early if you're calling. Speaking of calling, hold times for evening calls are well over an hour. I made several calls to locate my stuff and subsequently spent several hours on the phone. Again, call early, not late, for the best service. Uhaul is entirely incapable of fulfilling their own terms for Ubox services. They are understaffed, under developed, and underprepared. For the love of god don't use Ubox to ship your bedding or other essentials unless your truck is comfortable to sleep in or you've got alternative options available. The schedule they provide you has an accuracy of about +\- 5 days. Just be prepared.Cody W.

The equipment was old. That doesn't bother me though. I just needed to move 2 dressers 10 blocks. I mentioned to the guy working the desk that the drivers seat had a small tear and asked him if I needed to take pictures of other small scratches and so forth. He said â€œno don't worry about it we know how it looksâ€ we'll fool me once, I should not have trusted him. They charged me $160 for the $20 dollar a day deal which was obviously a scam. I did put gas in it to the mark he said to put it in and I even swept it out because my wife told me to even though it didn't need it. There was absolutely no damage at all. I will not return to this u haul again and probably will go to a different company. I'm very disappointedJeff T.

Took my vehicle in the early morning to have a trailer hitch installed for towing a U-haul. Was called that evening and was informed they did not have the correct wiring harness for the vehicle and would be a few days till they had one. Ended up having to make a 3 hour round trip the next day to another U-haul facility to pick up a harness that fit and delivered it to the U-hual center to be installed. Not only did I have to do this on my own dime but was also not refunded for the wire harness I had already purchased previously. If you are looking for a U-haul center with excellent customer service do not go to the one on Wabash Ave in Terre Haute, IN.KRISTEN D.

When i got my box truck i was told they had the doly as well. They didnt. Had to go to another location. They were closed. Then had to go to another location qlmost an hour away. Completely unexpectable. Will never use uhual again. Wasted 900 dollars on a rental. Truck drove like garbage. Was all over the road. Never again.MAYSON R.

I signed up for phone pickup, so I wouldn't have to wait long or have to go inside to wait. I got there and I still had to go inside, wait in a line if 5 people, some without masks on. Then I get the truck and it's not clean, they forgot to have the utility dolly inside so I had to go back inside to have someone get that for me. Upon looking at my bank account realized that I was over charged. I had a quote for $19.95 for 20' truck and .69 a mile and got charged $39.95 for the rental, .99 a mile which they refunded the difference for the truck rental but not the mileage. And I've had to go without money because the rental took all the money I had in my account because of the overcharge and I'm still waiting for the refund to hit my bank account so I can buy food for my kids n family. I extended my rental 2 times and kept it more time due to freezing temps and moving and I had the terre haute office calling me asking where the truck was, like there was no communication or anything letting them know: I always rent with uhaul but honestly this might be the last.Franklin B.

I rented a two wheel tow dolly that I needed to get a vehicle off the highway . The gentleman that set me up with the unit was very nice and helpful however that is not were my overall experience ended. The tire strap on the passenger side had been cut off at least a foot shorter than the other side. It was not long enough to strap the tire. By brother came and contacted a tow truck to get the truck off the road. I contacted uhaul roadside and let them know what was ring and they told me to tell the location when I returned the dolly. The location first told me I would get a 10 percent discount snd acted as if I was making it up. I of course contested because I could not use the unit at all and showed the attendant the text I made to uhaul roadside assistance. She showed the manager again and then came back and told me they would call me later. I never received a call.JOHN C.

The cargo area of the truck was dirty. We didn't look or notice until we started loading our things. There was dirt, and broken glass pieces.RANDALL B.
I had my belongings in storage for 3 years. I was supposed to move out of state to teach for a year but it fell through and I ended up living with family. I wasn’t pleased that rent increased 2x in those 3 years and for what? It was also horrible if I needed to reach someone. Rarely was able to. Often when I did the agents were rude. I paid most often in advance a month or more and yet when I needed just a few more days to move my stuff out I was forced to pay a full month more and told there would be no prorated return. Communication of what is happening and when. Upon returning the unit, I was simply asked did I pay card or cash and since I paid card I was good to go. I took it on faith that I was going to be charged the right amount for the mileage used. If checking a unit in is going to be handled as the guy accepts the key at the parking spot, I would say a mobile device should be used to complete the transaction and provide a proper receipt.Justin W.

My reservation was canceled without my knowledge and there was no compensation for it. I had to call myself and inquire of my reservation and was initially told no trucks were available of the size I wanted and if I wanted a bigger truck I'd have to pay the difference in fee. I was then told by another U-haul rep that there was a program that I'd get $50 credit if my reservation was canceled due to a U-haul lack of equipment but I never got that as the rep I was transferred to and store manager didn't know about this. Store manager (that helped us) was not very friendly either. Just disappointed with the overall experience.THERESA W.

Everything was great except I noticed what I believe to be mildew on some of my stored items. So far It has come off I believe except for on some pillows. Obviously the humidity control was not up to par in the actual storage units but for the most part my things were stored safe in a place all summer. Had an issue with access cards not working. According to staff their "system" was not allowing us access to the facility on several occasions.
