The facility is new so it is very well lit and clean, however the maintenance is a little suspect! The main covered cargo staging area is still not operational which is a problem since if there are multiple people picking up or dropping off things everyone is cramped into one small sliding door on the front side of the building. We had the unit for around 30 days and the covered cargo area was not functional in all that time. Luckily the rain has not started yet, but when it does the current situation will not work and i'd advise you to fix the covered cargo area before the bad weather occurs.STEVEN W. | Overall Experience

I had an incredibly difficult time with U-Haul and U-Box. This was not necessarily the fault of any one specific facility. It was maddeningly confusing and frustrating. A case was opened due to the incompetence of systemic failures. I request that someone call me to discuss. Thank youTIMOTHY M.

This site is brand new so they are still trying to work out the kinks. For example the under cover loading bay was not working which was inconvenient and the staff took a long time to find an open unit in the computer system which seemed really cumbersome. The staff were polite enough but they were a little frustrated with the antiquated computer system. This seems to be a problem at any UHAUL place. We had our hitch installed at this location and it went well and then this week had to have the connection added for a pop up with brakes. They did not install the brake controller where I instructed in my van and I was given no instructions for the controller and I am sure there was some in the packaging. I reserved a truck on-line and they didn't have it when I arrived to pick it up. They said I wasn't the first one that day to experience this. Apparently there is no connection between the on-line reservation system and the actual inventory at the locations. They only had one truck in stock and didn't offer it as a substitute for what I reserved, but I suggested it and they ended up letting me take it. It was much larger than I needed, but I managed to get the job done. This was my third time renting with U Haul in less than a year and something went wrong every time. I would certainly choose a different rental company if there were any options in my area.Carl T.
Oregon went fine. Once my container got to Hawaii it was a completely different story. I was told one story upon ordering and payment, but once the box arrived almost non of what I had paid for applied. I was told it would be delivered and it wasn't. I was told it would go to Hilo and it wasn't. I was then told it would go to kawaihae and it wasn't. Then I was told that I would be given a rental truck at no charge at the spot in Kona. Then someone else was going to charge me $250. After talking with 4 different people, having to go over this story every time, I got a truck for $112. I also had to close my business for 2 days to go back and forth across the island to do all of this which cost over $1000 in lost sales. Not to mention time and gas. After playing delivery driver and secretary for uhaul, I finally got it all taken care of. The only positive experience I had was dealing with a woman named Noe. She was so helpful and very comepetent and patient, since I had run out of that.DIONNE C.

Have the trailers checked out each time they are checked back on, the first trailer I got had problems with the light so they gave me a different trailer as I was walking back to the second trailer once the tech hooked it up he said that it was good to go, I took him for his word, I had to travel on a time line , in the morning when I did my travel inspection of the trailer the whole side of light on the driver side where not lighting up , again I was on a time line so I drove with the trailer in this condition but HAD TO STOP before the sun set in the evening, and I was not able to travel the next day tell the sun came up so to the lights where not a issueRUDY H.

Dropped off truck within scheduled timeframe but was charged $40 for additional day. Person checking me out did not mention this up charge - just said everything was fine and I would be emailed receipt. Very underhanded. In addition, i was delayed in dropping off due to a flat tire repair. I spend 2 hours in the hot sun & smoke dealing with this issue. I should have been credited back NOT charged.JOANNE IRENE D.

Everything was clean and running good and the rental went quickly however they listed it as one way instead of round trip. So Paul the manager did an awesome job of figuring out through transit how to charge me for the extra miles or switch it to a round-trip which would've cost me a whole bunch more he was awesome and friendly and professional and took a good 40 minutes to take care of this issue for me. I would recommend this place to everyone as a great place to rent equipment and store things in their storage area. I think they good vibrations and positive ways of Kmart live on in this in this building. Often we stayed but stocking U-Haul years ago because I've always used you for my moving needs and I am never disappointed! Keep up the great workANNA LOUISE L.

Sadly this location seems to be the only option available for rentals in the region. I returned a trailer after 3 or 4 hours of use and several days later UHaul calls and asks me when was I going to return the trailer. They couldn't find the trailer and apparently the local rental location didn't log it back in. The 'paperless' transaction on returns is unsettling and puts your customer's at risk when the location doesn't check equipment back in properly. IF I ever rent again from ANY UHaul location, I will take photos of the local employees both connecting and disconnecting the equipment on return. This is the 2nd time UHaul didn't properly check equipment back in once it was returned.Ken B.

Not sure who is to blame, but I had a confirmed reservation to pick up a trailer at 7am on a Sunday. The location isn't open until 9am and I had to spend 2 hours sitting there and talking to customer service until someone showed up to let me get my trailer. 2 hours in Sunday traffic is huge and nobody seemed to care that they had messed up. I used the online checkout process and it took a long time. It let me upload a picture of the fuel level that was wrong, but when I tried to upload a picture of the mileage which was also wrong, I got an error stating I had already reached my upload limit for this account. Software problem? Then the app sent me inside to get the keys. Nobody was in the office. There were two guys installing wiring for something. No clerk. I waited 15 minutes, then finally went outside and found some guy smoking at the end of the building. He came inside and gave me the keys. As I was walking out some girl in a Uhaul shirt was walking in. That was about 20 mins after I first went in the store. The store was wide open without anybody there the whole time.Phillip W.
I'm extremely upset. I reserved the uhaul over a month and I got there and they didn't have it. Took them 30 min to get one and made me late for the movers. Then we had a giant truck because they did not have the one I ordered. I could not back it up and it took a ton of Gas. They did nothing, I expect some sort of Credit. When we arrived at the location to pick up the equipment at the scheduled time 8am, myself and one other customer waited an hour before someone showed up at the front desk. The door was unlocked and everything. We both walked around the building to find someone multiple times. Finally around 9am someone came in from the back. When they took me to the truck I rented the lady handed me the key and walked away. The key wouldn't unlock the door and upon further inspection, she had given me the wrong key. When I went back inside the managers response to seeing me again was â€œoh god, now what!?â€ Also the 3/4 full gas tank it was supposed to have was bs it was hardly at a quarter tank. The reputation of the manager being a jerk did not disappoint. And I definitely wouldn't send a friend of mine to that unorganized unwelcoming hell hole nor do I recommend this place to anyone else even thinking about coming here.JERRITT JAMES S.
I was ther at 0820 to pick up my rental truck, could not find anyone in the place to help me until the Manager appears at out of the back of the building at 0847, then I return the truck at 1855 and everyone is long gone, they were supposed to be open til 1900, left the key in the night key return at 1901, had the truck for 10hrs, then the next day I get a email charging me for 2 days, then had to drive back to dealer to fix the problem, because they would not answer the phone. Reservation return date was Monday 12pm, but we were able to return it on Sunday 12pm. No discount for returning 24 hours early, and found out they take additional mileage pretty serious (we went 12 miles over for an extra $5). When the clerk gave me the key to the truck she didn't indicate which of several identical (to me) trucks was the one I was supposed to have. I guessed right on the third one. The help I got in checking out the truck and connecting the hauler trailer was perfect and my errand driving the truck and car hauler went well. I returned the truck after the location had closed. I tried to follow the instructions in the Uhaul text message that I'd been sent that morning but the webpage insisted that the contract had been cancelled.
