The only thing I would suggest is making your bay doors big enough to fit all of your uhauls. The gentleman failed to mention that the 26 foot truck doesn't fit in the bay. Luckily another uhaul rep stopped us before we backed up any further. It looked like it was going to clear, but apparently it doesn't. So we had to have the uhaul hanging out in the parking lot while we loaded.Alanna P.

Uhaul- you know what to do to improve your business- but you won't bcz like all monopoly cooperations..you know you can take advantage of our need for help in dire situations & we will just have to suck it up & take it up the tail pipe like a good American Citizen usually does!! The manager, Paul, quoted me around $100. Grant it, your incompetent computers were down ALL DAY, the mngr. could've quoted me closer to the the REAL price..It was $400+ than what he said!! He was deceptive! When I got there, it was too late to make other plans bcz I had high priced helpers waiting for me to arrive w/the trailer. I am a single, older, disabled woman & feel very taken advantage of! The young kid that hooked it up barely knew what he was doing..I had to show him how to tighten the hitch on the ball..if I hadn't..surely the trailer would've bounced off the hitch on the first big bump. What a catastrophe if I hadn't caught it!! I'll never use that place again! The Store N More, Hwy #211 Newport, WA people were very good & accomodating. They were high priced too but at least they were honest..if it weren't for their good service..I would never use Uhaul ever again!Chantel W.

When I walked in, staff immediately tried to get us the equipment we needed however, their computer system was down and after a half hour of them trying, I decided to go online and fill out the rental forms and get reservations that way. We drove three hours to this location and this computer issue caused us loss of precious daylight. Things happen but there was no backup and I had the idea to go online myself to do the reservation which is the only way we were able to get what we needed and then get on our way.Korine P.

We used the boxes to move and in reserving the boxes it seemed quite straightforward to get the boxes delivered and picked up from my house(s). Our move location in the Dalles did seem to be more difficult and required multiple phone calls to confirm that they would get delivered so I could unpack them. It all worked fine in the end, everyone was nice and nothing was late, just was extra calls outside of the online reservation, which was an inconvenience.NATALIE B.

This location was great; however, I originally booked a trailer out of Pendleton, Oregon because there were no requested trailers in Baker City, Oregon. There were no warning online (e.g. "Not available at this location") and I received a confirmation number. Two days before I was scheduled to pick up the trailer I got a call from a UHaul representative telling me I would have to travel to Pasco, Washington to pick up the trailer. That would mean an additional 140 miles out of my way. I was able to have the representative find a trailer in The Dalles, Oregon which was a much better fit for my move. I am very disappointed in UHAUL for offering a trailer in Pendleton only to switch locations just before my move. I already had people lined up for the move when I was notified of the change. The representative was not empathetic with my issue and seemed very cold. Poor customer service. Fortunately, your UHAUL location in The Dalles was extremely helpful and was a pleasure to work with. I wish all of your representatives were like the one in The Dalles.Robert B.

We've had a UBox stored at this location for over a year since we moved to The Dalles. We've had to access it on a few occasions. Three out of the four times we needed to access it they neglected to pull the box out at the scheduled time. This last time, I called twice (which is no easy feat as this location rarely answers its phone) to verify that the box would be ready at 9:30 when I picked up a truck so that I could transfer the contents from the UBox to the truck. Once again they completely dropped the ball again. It was well after 11 before the box was available, because they had to dig it out, dispite them saying that it would be ready at 9:30 that day. Again this happened on 3 separate occasions. On the prior occasions, I was just advised to leave and come back later that afternoon, despite calling and reserving a time with them. As for calling them, I usually have to call 10 to 12 times before they actually pick up. I've had a few occasions where I gave up and had to go to the store to talk to them, and even that isn't a guarantee as sometimes the store is just left completely open and unattended for long periods, because their one employee is off somewhere. They have a walkie-talkie but in my experience, more often than not, no one answers. Most of the issues I can chalk up to being understaffed. That is whatever. But when I give them two-week notice, plus a two-day reminder that I need access to the UBox when I am renting a truck, and then have to wait nearly 2 hours before I can even start loading... that's unacceptable, especially when I have limited time with the truck. They had two weeks to get my box ready and still failed. It put a serious strain on the whole moving day. All I can say is I'm glad I'm finally done with the UBox and with that location. On the upside, everyone I've spoken with there has been courteous and friendly. But that unfortunately does not make up for the lack of professionalism and organization. Thank goodness it's a small town and there is no real competition or this place would likely be out of business.joe R.

The guy at the front desk gave misinformation that cost me time and money. My vehicle became loose from the straps on the auto transport trailer and the check engine light was on within the first 20 minutes of my trip. Maybe double check hubs and brake fluid for this customers looking to haul trailers long distances. We had to swap trailers because of dry rotted and mismatches tires on multiple trailers. The one we ended up with worked perfect though.Clint S.
I thought I would save your car dolly I had rented from bouncing around for two hours to be returned where I initially had requested. I stopped by your Yakima branch on first and asked your manager about returning it there instead of The Dalles. He said it was expensive and told me $200. I said that's ridiculous that's four times more than it cost me to rent the dolly. He told me with an attitude well then take it back to the place you got it. The facility is new so it is very well lit and clean, however the maintenance is a little suspect! The main covered cargo staging area is still not operational which is a problem since if there are multiple people picking up or dropping off things everyone is cramped into one small sliding door on the front side of the building. We had the unit for around 30 days and the covered cargo area was not functional in all that time. Luckily the rain has not started yet, but when it does the current situation will not work and i'd advise you to fix the covered cargo area before the bad weather occurs.STEVEN W. | Overall Experience

This site is brand new so they are still trying to work out the kinks. For example the under cover loading bay was not working which was inconvenient and the staff took a long time to find an open unit in the computer system which seemed really cumbersome. The staff were polite enough but they were a little frustrated with the antiquated computer system. This seems to be a problem at any UHAUL place.
