This place is disgusting! When I picked up my U-Haul there was cigarette ash in the cabin of the truck. It had BOT been cleaned and it smelled like a homeless person lives in it. The owner didn't care in the slightest when I told him this as he stood out front smoking his own cigarette. DO NOT EVER rent a U-Haul from this place. You will regret it 100%!!!Allison C.

My only problem was that I bought a box of different sized boxes. The price on the box I bought was $39.95, the rest were 49.95. I could tell that the one that I bought had been there a long time. I was charged $49.95. I don't think that is right, I should only be charged what the box says. I would appreciate a responseCarol J.

There was some confusion when renting the truck. I had to call twice to extend rental for 2 more days. That was handled very easily. When we returned the truck the man, we talked to was very rude and unprofessional and rude. He said there was no reason to go into bldg. I said I would like to know how much was being charged on my card. He said I would get an itemized bill through email, but I never did till I called the next day and talked to Kim. The A/C only worked correctly when the brakes were pressed fairly hard and the gas tank only had a quarter full so before travel I put 20 in and had to fill it up more when returned.Madison H.

I've had way too many problems today. The first uhaul location on english road in Thomasville was terrible. The Cadillac converter was missing on the first truck and the guy on the phone proceeded to tell us to take that truck and i refused. After being delayed and having to go to another location to get the uhaul we finally went on our way. When it came to returning the uhaul it originally said our drop off location was in deep gap North Carolina and when i called to try to drop it off in boone instead, the person on the phone proceeded to say i couldn't even return it to deep gap anymore and i had to drive an hour away to drop off the uhaul. The overall experience was terrible and i will never rent another uhaul again.Arianna S.

We rented 2 trucks from uhaul. We were told we would get a free storage per truck. We were not given our 2 free units and had to pay for second one. They didn't have a clean unit. 3-4 people working and not even one person could go check and clean the unit we had to wait until the next day in the afternoon to unload our trucks.Kathy P.

Driving the truck was horrible. I have driven many trucks and this one was the worst! It keep making a weird noise when hitting the gas and almost like the gear was slipping out of place. The oil life was ZERO % and it's kept giving me a warning to â€œCHECK ALL AIRBAGSâ€ I really honestly will NEVER use uhaul again. Way to pricey and I guarantee I won't get any money back for the experience I when through. I paid close too 100$ and I'll see 0$ back from this HORRIBLE experience!!! NEVER USING UHAUL AGAIN! Also when I dropped it off I tried to be nice and park it back in the tight space so no one had to move it again. The guy who was apparently working when I return it walked up to my door knocked on the window and said â€œyou need to park it over thereâ€¦. With the other oneâ€ in a real snarky attitude. I don't mind being asked to do something but I've never rented from this location before so I thought i was being nice. Sorry for inconveniencing you. I didn't know I had to make sure YOUR experience was good. I normally don't leave reviews or complain but again this was not a good experience I had with uhaul and I'm happy to say it was the last. So much for the money. Should've went through Home Depot or lowes. SMH.BUDDY H.

Thoroughly check the wheels, brakes and bearings prior to allowing equipment on the road. Our 12x6 trailer caught fire at the wheel on driver side. Fortunately M&M auto sales and service (amazingly a uhaul location) was at the exit as my wife, who was driving behind me, called letting me know the tire was on fire. I pulled off the exit ramp as a tire exploded. As we pulled into the M&M, the folks came out and assisted as we had to throw water on the tires and wheels. The second tire exploded. We managed to get the fire out. Then had to swap out a fully loaded 12X6 to another before continuing to drive.Louis P.

The only issue I had was my reserved storage unit was rented out by the automated system, but the staff quickly offered me an acceptable compromise. I did return the truck two days early and found out I couldn't get credit for those two days because it was a one way rental. I am not exactly happy about that, because we rented the truck four extra days due to my disability, but was able to get done early. No mention was made at time of rental or I would definitely have not prepaid but waited to see if I needed it as the move proceeded in real time. U-Haul took advantage of my need of a flexible time frame and has caused me to look at the company less favorably. I do however want to give credit where credit is due.. the equipment is first rate and attention to ease of use is commendable. Facilities and options available for storage are incredible compared to standard self storage across the market. Security well exceeds need and is priced affordably for the average consumer. I noticed roaches at the entrance of the storage but luckily none near my items. I did notice a couple of spiders in my boxes but nothing too upsetting. The staff is amazing overall especially the lady that comes in the evening around 4:30pm and stays to closing, who’s short and ethnic. My unit was in temperature controlled area. Area was comfortably cool, with good lighting, and I felt safe. New lock was waiting in unit for my use. Carts were readily available for loading and unloading. I’ve rented from u haul before this in the past , never had such a bad experience as I had this time. Moved long distance, I was advised that a 15ft truck would be big enough for a 2 bedroom house, wow were they wrong, I had to give up 10 pieces of furniture. And was advised that a 10 by 10 storage unit would be big enough for storage, also not so. Had to get another unit. Do the math, you can not put 15feet truck into a 10 ft garage. I am very disappointed and unsatisfied with this and had a very bad experience. I never use u haul or I will not recommend u haul to anyone.
