MIGUEL RI was disappointed because when I rented the Uhaul in Brooklyn, I paid $1,247 in cash and was told that I would receive the $100 deposit I paid in cash upon returning the truck. We returned the truck after store hours a day before it was due. I called the next morning, spoke to Joe and was told they will have to mail a check to me for my deposit because all monies from yesterday were deposited. I asked why could I not co.e in the next day to get my deposit back in cash as I was told I would get when I rented the truck in Brooklyn, ny. Joe's response was "I'm not responsible for what people in Brooklyn told you and that there was nothing he could do to get my cash deposit to me. He said it will be mailed via check. It was upsetting that Uhaul does not stand by its word.

THOMAS WTruck was completely covered in snow and frozen. Unsatisfied with my experience. You would think U Haul would make sure all trucks are cleared off and ready to go for the customer! Not the case.
MATTHEW RFirst of all I arrived at 8 to pick up and the key was not in the box - a vehicle was not assigned. I did speak to a nice gentlemen online that said I would have to wait till they open up at 9:00 So I did. The girl that took care of me was terrible - not friendly, not nice no smile. She said I had to complete on line because she just put the key in the box. I tried 4 times and it would not go through so finally she took care of me but was not friendly about it. She treated me like I was bothering her. My trip was suppose to start at 8 and it did not start till 9:30. So it was a rush to get it back in time. I would not recommend this location ever. I have to move more items this weekend and I have gone out of town to get the truck because I did not want to deal with your employee again.

WILLIAM POnline pickup was a hassle. I entered info way too many times and repetitively. The dolly wasn't included nor were the straps. Those were options I chose when at initial reservation screen. They were not included or given to me or in the truck. It's a good thing I can navigate tech because an older person would not be able to go through this process happily. The lockbox in front was odd and the reps didn't do much to help at all. Besides look at us and point. One did show us where the key was but to unlock it was on us to figure out where codes were. Just a weird experience that took way too long. Also, the receipt didn't make sense. Still not sure what I was charged for. Funny thing is, my father used to manage that location and we lived in the building at the time when it was required management live there, in the upstairs apartment. Long time ago.

EDRIS NThe individual who was completing the return was not inviting and respectful to my father and mother, one of which were an authorized driver on the vehicle. I was the name on the u-haul as it was my move being completed, and had asked my family members to contact me prior to paying so I could ensure I had enough funds on my card. Before they could even get a price, the man had just applied the transaction to my card and walked away from my parents without just informing them of what the charge was going to be, before they could even quickly ask what it was. I understand that we were responsible for pay either way, which wasn't the issue, but I wanted to have known what I was going to be charged. When they had called me after to let me know what he had charged my card (after telling me the situation that ensued), I could hear the gentleman being very disrespectful and rude towards my mother about whether I used card or cash at the pick-up location. While I appreciate the help from the pick-up facility tremendously, the customer service can be worked on from the drop-off location here in Utica.

ANGELO RThe trailer they hooked up came off within 5 minutes. I was shown a picture of the hookup at the store and it wasn’t what I experienced on the side of the road. I believe the photo they took was not from my trailer/truck hook up as the hooks were both hooked up on the same side when I got out to hook the trailer up again it wasn’t like that in the photo. The trailer coming off at 45 mph nearly caused a catastrophic accident.
ERIC RI have rented from Uhaul and other truck rental companies throughout my life without incident or issue. Yesterday i produced a 26’ truck to Uhaul in Lomond Place in Utica, NY. I asked the woman at the front desk to check in my return, examine the gas, blankets, cleanliness of the truck, and to verify that no damage to the truck was incurred during the brief time four days i rented the truck. The 20 year old diva st the desk told me to “run along” and, that i would receive an invoice by email. I told her i would be vs waiting. She looked at me and smiled like a deviant, entitled monster. A hour later I received an invoice from Zoe - and she really showed me who’s in charge of UHAUL - ZOE. Please - vacate this invoice and call me - i am a retired attorney. I am also an incapacitated adult who cannot be sued or even prosecuted. Sorry that Zoe’s bill was so inflated.

MARK KNot happy I was given the truck on a quarter tank of gas. Everyone knows that mileage is better with a full tank and I’m sure that was supposed to be the policy. Also, the truck was very hard to drive kept pulling to the left into the right, definitely need some maintenance.
DAWN MUpon pickup I was greeted by the nastiest little snob behind the counter who spoke to me in a demeaning tone the entire transaction then proceeded to toss me a key literally as she was spewing out the location of the vehicle. Upon returning the vehicle let stand in line for 10 minutes then yelled over to me if your just returning out the key in the counter over there. I stated I had washed and filled the van and got no response. I will never use this location again and she needs to find something other than customer service as a career. I will ensure I let everyone in the emergency services community in utica and surrounding know about my experience and recommend they do business elsewhere also

MICHAEL MI marked cleanliness and well maintained as a no only because 9 out of 10 times the shelf storage aisles had debris scattered throughout when I was there. However I did see an improvement, so kudos. Just with the price i was paying for storage, I expected to have a clean facility at all times. It truly makes a difference when your entrusting someone with your property.
Ben G | Overall ExperienceUsed the auto hauler, hard a hard time releasing the tire straps. Mechanic could not even pull out the strap on passenger side of the trailer. Luckily we were able to just fit strap over the car tire and snug it down. When I used the trailer a month before for same car the straps were easy to use. I reported issue to store when I returned trailer and they didn’t seem interested in what I had to say, so next person will struggle the same till the ratchet is lubricanted and freed up.

KATHRYN AMirror was broken on the truck. I went over 3 miles but put extra gas in the truck thinking I would get charged the miles cause I put extra gas in it but I still got charged the 3.27 for the miles.

Dylan RThe employees need better customer service skills. They were not very friendly. I also had to wait outside the uhaul truck return for over 30 minutes and the employee ended up telling me I could just leave after having me wait and never coming back over to give me my receipt. The truck we were given also had a musty smell to it and the driver side door did not shut all the way. It was overall a frustrating experience.
ALYSSA MAs always, (and I have used U-Haul many times), everything went very well. I was pleased with the service and the courtesy of our attendants at check in and check out.... I'm not sure what we would have done, on so many occasions, without the U-Haul Van to help us out.... It is, in my opinion, the only way to move from place to place....no matter how small or big the big is. Thank you!!!!
DARLENE DI reserve the equipment at another location to be picked up at that location. The equipment was not available even though it was reserved. I know now to just reserve it at the Lomond facility instead. This is the second time this has happened. There was no notification from uhaul on this.

Ben G | First Impressionsthe gate didnt work for months so that kinda sucked, still paid full price for half the security, which is why i left. also i think the water gutters that come down from the roof and run off the side of the buildings in between every few units leaked badly into my unit. nothing like actually damaged but everything that was in the front left corner of my unit (near the drain spout outside the unit) was soaked. it was just towels and clothes for me which can be easily washed but i worry for someone else that may have like nice wood furniture or important paper documents? the staff there is very friendly tho and renting vehicles for moving was always very easy and efficient.
