I have rented quite a few times at this particular location over the last few months and with warmer weather now here, am in need of renting more frequently. During my visit, for the first time, I was asked for a contact number to be verified. I have never been asked this before and find it to be invasive. I understand if I was it was my first time and not already in the system multiple times, but this policy is leading me to seek rentals where my relationship with the company is valued. I was just a bit confused on which truck was mine and had to try the key to each one to find the number that matched, but the Owner who checked me in was FANTASTIC and SO nice and honestly, being a young woman renting and driving a uhaul for the first time I was pretty nervous, but she made the experience incredibly positive AND it was the most comfortable vehicle I had ever driven! I scheduled the installation of my hitch 7 days in advance and the estimated install-time was 50 minutes. In reality, I spent over 3 hours at the U-Haul dealer waiting for the job to be completed. I'm also not happy with the way the vehicle's plastic bumper is crimped on top of the hitch bar. Not enough was trimmed off the plastic before the hitch was secured.Thomas C.
actually i feel cheated; one invoice says estimated $80ish cost(s) but another says $120ish. im concerned because the desk agent asked me about mile range, i said inside of 100miles, he said lets just make it 50, i said probably more like 60-75 miles round trip. i was not told to have the truck back by 10pm(closing) but isnt there a charge for that? i asked about return after closing and was told do everything w/in the app then drop the key in the lockbox. the app said i'd receive a $4.00 rebate(?) - for returning the truck past the guage mark - i actually returned it on full(!) i saw no mention of it over either receipt! by the time you receive this you should also have received payment in full. The store was great, but the mover helper were extremely bad, late, slow and damaged my furniture and walls. I wonder what kind of drugs they were on. Not only that they up-charged me because they were slow, I needed to unload 50% of the truck myself with a 70 year old man because they were too exhausted. Just keep doing what you are doing. Maybe acknowledge customers when they come in, even if you are with another customer or on the phone with one, so we don't think you're ignoring us or it allows us to have a sense that even though you are helping someone else, we are still important. Cancelled the storage unit after we were there and tried to move items into the unit. On the 5th Floor of the facitlity. Only one working elavator and one unload area. The other elavators and unload areas were not working. The one unload area was in use and the individuals were unloading. Were pulling out their items from the truck and then packing them in bins., Sitting on folding chairs, NOT only blocking the only functioning elavator using the only unload area for the starage facility. We asked when they would be done. They stated they would need about 4 more hours. Went to front desk no help. Said we had to wait until they finish. Had hired help to move our items in and on the clock. Cancelled the storage unit and had to pay the moving help to drive to a new location. Fortunately we were able to find a new unit same day. Within their working hours I had to wait for employees to unlock buildings or other customers to finish using freight elevators because their buildings were not connected and so everyone was waiting for one elevator. We had to keep the moving truck packed with all of our things an extra night as the facility we ended up renting was in a different location with different hours than we anticipated. Both of the freight elevators were out of order at our move in time, and not until halfway into the move, one of the elevators got up and running. The Gilbert Avenue facility in Cincinnati, Ohio was able to accommodate my family's needs quickly. We had to secure a unit large enough for 2 households of furniture and other items. Having never rented a storage unit, the first one I contracted for was too small. The representative walked us through the facility until we were able to locate one large enough for our needs. Everyone was friendly and helpful but the experince was not as easy as renting the truck. We were assigned a unit and then moved the truck. We waited one hour for our turn at the elevator. The first unit we were assigned was to small so we had to switch units. This was our mistake due to ignorance of what we really needed. The staff was very accomdating. The next unit required a different elevator. There was no wait this time but it was not on the ground floor so the staff had to come out and lower it. They were were happy to do that for us. The unit we were assigned was already rented so we had to go back and get another unit. Once again, the staff was pleasnt andaccomodating. The third unit was available, dry and clean. So it worked out in the end. However what we thought would be a 30 minute unload and store turned into a 3 hour comedy of errors. The elevators were the biggest hassel. When I originally rented my storage suit I reserved a truck and storage unit. Truck rental went smoothly until I showed up to my storage unit a half hr before close to get my things set up and was turned away because “I have to be there 45 minutes ahead” even though the website says after hrs access. I then was charged an extra day rental and extra miles for my truck. I started a dispute and was never contacted back, every time I called in the person I needed to speak to was “out of town”.
