I was charged an additional $100 after drop off. I was charged for 9 gallons of gas. I did not quite fill it to where it was but not almost $50 worth. And the truck was left as clean I got it. I also returned the truck less than 12 hours after renting it. I want some kind of refund issued on the extra $100. That was uncalled for. If not issued a refund I will dispute the charge.

Renting the U-Haul was easy and fast. The U-Haul container was clean and easy to use the only thing that we didn’t have that we expected was a ramp on the U-Haul. Ours was missing that but other than that, it was great. The gentleman that helped me rent. The U-Haul was very kind and very informative.

The lady behind the counter that helped me with pick-up as well as drop-off gave me outstanding service. She was personable, helpful, and went far beyond the call of duty: it was pouring rain when I dropped off my trailer, but she noticed that I pulled in, and came right out to unhook my trailer. She was getting soaked, but still had a cheerful attitude. I don't think I've ever been served so well anywhere!

It was late night drop off. The main customer entrance had no directions where to drop the keys after hours. I didn’t even realize that one has to drive over to the other side to drop off the vehicle and find the drop box hanging by a pole. Extremely inconvenient. Little sign on the main entrance could have spared me half hour to figure out.

I was a bit disappointed that I wasn't able to pick up and drop off at the Waukesha location, especially when I had to drive right past there and saw an auto transport sitting there on my to and from the West Allis location.

I dont know if theres enough room in this section for what I experienced. I was told on the phone my pickup time was 8am. They open at 9am. As I walked in that morning, im blasted in the face with the obnoxiously loud woman behind the counter who CLEARLY didn't want to come to work that day. She was taking my information and one other customer at the same time, not listening or hearing either of us and cutting me mid-sentence everytime I tried to speak. She explained she was taking care of 2 customers simultaneously like I was to enjoy her chaos. She was rude, unprofessional, and should've stayed home. She handed me off to a young man that was more than polite, understanding, and professional. Give that man a big raise. The moving truck i rented was clean yes but the steering is so loose its borderline suicidal. I was able to drive it due to the fact I grew up driving shtboxes as a kid 30 years ago. Anyone with less than my experience would definitely crash badly. Finally the price. Everyone knows how Uhaul absolutely gouges your wallet. Advertised price was 39.99 per day. Final charges 108. Never and nothing in my life ever had such a large gap in advertised price and final charges. It feels criminal and honestly dont understand how this practice isnt investigated. When I say nothing....I mean nothing is priced like a Uhaul rental. I.E. hotel rooms, plane tickets, shoes, food, nearly everything one purchases doesn't have the Grand Canyon size price shock like Uhaul. This may be my last time I ever rent from this company. In this economy its almost amust to seek other ways to transport. From the rude customer service, shady dangerous equipment, and I paid a over a hundred bucks for this memorable experience. I paid full price and then some for nearly ruining my mood for the day, and having a white knuckles driving experience. Im really not expecting any changes to be made after whoever reads this. But there should be. What is a good and possible necessary service is ruined by rude unprofessional employees and overpriced garbage equipment and another lost customer. There was a time where this experience was rare. Now its all too common everywhere I go. Congratulations Uhaul. Its just another player in a declining social environment where it feels everything and everyone is a rip-off.

Try to get some people who have an honest idea of what trailers are, load capacities are, Dimensioning and Customer Service are. I spent over 3 hours trying to get a trailer that I had previously used, only to be told that It isn't what I can use to "Haul" my daughter's vehicle. Stupid, Very, Very Stupid.

They’re so professional and polite under pressure when short of staff my first encounters to my last was professionalism from the beginning to the end, considering our package still came with a dolly, and it wasn’t on the truck was very prompted helping us get going and sending someone to retrieve it so I’ll give those employees a five if that was there this Saturday

I made a reservation for a storage space. Brandon t couldn’t find it. Only a a larger unit was available but I wanted drive up access. I went ahead with the reservation with the understanding it was drive up access. It turned out not to be. I canceled the reservation.. he said I’d was canceled but I have not seen the refund. He did not call for back up despite a growing line. I went with a different company.

Excellent communication; very short wait times —-very friendly in person on by phone. We needed a storage locker fast—due to a different company not being available to access our locker (they left before closing)…we cancelled with them and called uhaul—-west allis; we had a space secured and unpacked our items into the space within an hour. Wonderful team!!!

I hired movers to move my apartment items into a U-Haul storage unit, paying them both $215.00 am hour for each hour. When the got to the U-Haul facility there was a lock on the unit that was rented out to me online. The movers waited an hour for the representative at this location to get a new storage unit seeing as I paid $220 to rent it. After my movers waited, they were then told by the service desk that they had no key for my unit.

Im getting charged for a storage unitnI DONT EVEN HAVE. My reservation SHOULD have been canceled becuase I signed up with another location and they said they canceled my other reservation. Not to mention that location was an absolute nightmare with no show employees. Absurd wait times and the lady taking care of my registration was on a personal all the entire time. I called uhual 3 times and I still have no resolution. If my momey gets refunded for the unit I never used i will change my review. (Also posting to help and google)

The U-Haul website allows you to reserve a storage unit however, when you arrive the day of your scheduled date, they may not have a storage unit available. I was told this is because it is all based on when customers move in and move out of the rented units, thankfully Michael the general manager was able to find me a unit otherwise I would’ve been in a tough spot. I don’t necessarily put this on the location because it’s kind of out of their hands when the website is allowing customers to reserve things that they may or may not have available. I spoke with the staff and they said this is a common occurrence. Sounds like someone higher up needs to address this.

We had a problem with the hasp and the door would not latch. The staff managed to get it closed and put in a maintenance request. It appears Hasp was recently replaced and should have been hacked for functionality before putting it into service.

My only criticism is kind of frustrating that when I attempted to in person confirm move out dates I was told I couldn’t do that in advance. When I was there at the time I moved out it was busy and the staff didn’t have time to even check out the truck. Getting staff on the phone has been IMPOSSIBLE. So then to get an email re a late charge was a disappointment.

Everything was fine, overall. I began storing in October until present. I was very unhappy that the last night of my move in October.(10/31). The gate wouldn’t let me, and another truck, out. I was let in but was told that, when I tried to leave, it was after hours. I never had looked at the times in the fence because the paper I was given said it was 24 hour access. It took an hour to get us out. Later on, I spoke with an employee who said it used to be 24 hours, before CoVid.

Initially, the woman on the phone was great and explained finishing the process on the app. The app experience was horrible. Maybe I'm older or not as tech savvy but I was nearly ready to cancel the entire process. It took my 1.5 hours to complete the registration and payment process. Once we got to the unit everything was fine. Uhaul, this app is a disappointment. I should have been able to finish the process with the first lady ON THE PHONE.

I received the most courteous service. The employees worked well together. Many times I’ve experienced where ONÈ employee needs assistance but another isn’t will to help. What I experienced was harmony. I believe a business will prosper if the environment internally runs smooth. I called and made a reservation for a 10x15x8 with a garage door to store palleted items with a pallet Jack. I confirmed this a week ahead of time and when I checked in there was only a unit with a regular door. It made me change plans after I already had the load on a truck to move in, there were no more units that size available, so I went to another storage company. That company only .3 miles away had bigger units, and cheaper storage. Thanks to terrible customer reps I ended up getting a better deal because I was originally going to rent 2 units from Uhaul. However I will say the woman working the business that day was very apologetic and it was not her who made the mistake. Thanks for helping me save money

I was disappointed at the amount that they charged me due to the fact that I returned it without taking the photograph of the gauge, with returning the truck due to the fact that they didn’t tell me I needed to take a picture of this or whatever and so when I returned it ahead of schedule, I was still charge for the 24 hours plus some! so with that being said, I was not too happy. The gas wasn’t a problem. Because, the gas was the same amount that was use.

I had a direct move from Kentucky and was supposed to get a free month of storage. My reservation I had at another uhaul location was not available because they over booked. After driving 8 hours and being rebooked across town I was told they weren't going to honor it. Reserved a 1-way trailer to convey storage contents to St.Paul. After I paid, & with no call, U-Haul CANCELLED my reservation; & informed me that the trailer I reserved the week before was their LAST for 1-way use. U-Haul staff then informed me that I had NO RECOURSE. Only offera “local trailer”- I’d have to drive back fr St.Paul- I acquiesced-desperate. Storage was fine-but the rest is unacceptable.

I’m really annoyed that U-Haul’s policy is even if you have a reservation, storage units are first come, first serve. I had a reservation for a unit that I placed a few weeks ago and when I arrived I was told that it was given away. I then had to pay quite a bit more for a larger unit because it was the only unit available. The customer service was good and the unit was good, low stars are due to cooperate’s new policy.

Not a well run Uhaul. Several issues with setting up the storage unit and then after we moved out we got a letter stating our rent was overdue. Then I could not reach anyone to straighten it out online or over the phone. Had to go back in and wait 20 minutes to speak to a manager. Finally got it straightened out. Stressful.

My storage unit got messed up twice! They said system errors. Then, I had a very poor experience with renting a uhaul. I didn't receive any indication that I needed to be there within 15mins of my pick up time. I was stuck with a uhaul that was 6' shorter and caused me to make 2 trips to move! Which equated for more mileage! They never reimbursed me for that extra mileage! That same day, I went in to pick up the uhaul, I was upset about the cancelation. I know I wasn't disrespectful to the lady, however, her husband, the GM Jose, embarrassed me in front of a line of people by yelling at me and threatening me!! I would hope this company would know having a husband and wife work together at a location can cause this exact issue to happen when things don't go exactly right. This location has made several mistakes and never once took ownership of there mishandling of my storage unit and rental issue. They just blamed the system. When you are a GM of a location, you need to conduct yourself that way! Jose definitely failed at that and caused a scene for no reason! He is a poor example of a leader. No leader should have an outburst like he did!! Very unprofessional!!

The employees at the location of the storage facility were helpful but I had to take a day off of work to drive there in person because no one ever picked up the phone at the location. Every time I called I was rerouted to an offsite customer service rep that would state they couldn't help me because they didn't have access to the accounts at a different location. Tried chatting online and was also told that only a rep at the exact location could help. Leaving messages didn't help either. I would get a voicemail with the general number to call back and no one would pick up again. Tried calling corporate and would sit on hold for 30-40 minutes at a time and then have the same experience. While the face to face employees were helpful, the experience I had moving was horrible with this company. I had to go between 3 locations to get a truck and storage facility and then the size that I ordered wasn't available even though I had paid for it online with a credit card already. Miscommunication from the company only created more issues with trying to relocate out of the area. I have driven over 200 miles extra to deal with issues from moving and using the storage facility. Horrible experience.

gave me wrong unit to start with made me move every thing out of unit and made me move it all back in diferene unit on 100 degree day charged me for 30 boxes when i had 10 wont refune money i will never go back there

My experience was fine with the staff working at the time but I was highly frustrated with the fact thtmat the 10 by 15 I had reserved had been rented to someone else. I needed this size and was not permitted to go bigger in size even though this was not my fault. Smaller didnt really work for what i needed.

Pick up was a nightmare. Only one desk clerk and line was out the door. Should be a way to facilitate picking up if you have a reservation. I get the covid angle but standing in line for over an hour is BS. Why register a pickup time if it's not honored?

I rented a unit online that would be large enough for the contents of a one-bedroom apartment. When I got to the facility, I was told I'd need take a cart back-and-forth to fill the unit, which I'd never had happen before. I ended up having to rent a different kind of unit I could drive up to. I reiterated that I had furniture and boxes from a one-bedroom apartment. When I got to the unit, it was only big enough for a few boxes. I had to go back to the office to get a unit that was the size I requested.

I feel that the prices are very high. The facility hours could be an extra hour. There is never enough staff always have to wait. I ran late four important reason and when I got to the facility I wanted to make sure that I could check out before the staff left. I think they should have oh way that they can access the key and let you be able to still use it since technically it is my last day until at least 10 or 11 because technically it still is my day instead I was locked out from being able to leave and the gentleman inside the desk was not helpful to my friend who went to tell him to let us out. Luckily there was a another employee that was outside other facility that was able to access and help us leave but we still had a couple big things to pick up and we had to leave it outside of the gate because of not being able to still have access. I don't think staff should have to be there to make sure that the unit is clean if I'm paying . They should be able to clean it out the next day that should be their job. We also rented a truck at one point and it is really misleading when they say $19 and some cents for a truck but by the time you include the miles and the hassle of bringing back the truck it was not a quick drop off there is a procedure and very time-consuming I feel that it is very expensive. I guess in a time of need and no one else has a truck a person has to be convinced that this was going to be an expensive rental and realize that they have to close their eyes about the expense of the truck. This is my opinion.

Customer service is horrible, long wait time, not knowledgeable about UHaul services and don’t care of customers needs at all...I had to look for a customer service person twice while I went to make payment and to rent a truck. They pretend not to see the customer. Foul language with each other used. Horrible service!
