The staff was very friendly and accommodating! When we contracted the storage unit we had no idea how long we would need it as the items in storage was our 94 yr old mother’s things. She had been admitted to the hospital and we knew she could no longer live where she had been. Unfortunately, our mother passed away 3 weeks later so our need of the storage unit was no longer needed as we now knew we had to get rid of her furnishings. The staff was always helpful and we liked the setup and the storage unit as well. What I didn't like was when driving thru Iowa City ( the initial place I wanted to rent the trailer). I went by a U-haul place and saw multiple 6 by 12 trailers sitting in their lot. Why was I told there was NONE available in Iowa City? I seems like you have a logistic issue in your system where you do know where trailers are and if they are available. I has to pull a trailer over 60 miles both ways, even though there was multiple trailers available in Iowa City. Very frustrated since hauling a EMPTY trailer and lowering my gas mileage.joe B.
The poor employee could not get the credit card machine to take my payment and that was frustrating. She was awesome though with keeping conversation engaging since it was taking longer than it should have. The only part about the equipment was that it said it could fit a queen size bed and that was extremely challenging with moving the bedroom furniture in it. Well for one not send the van back out and charge me for that person driving much farther on my dime! I returned the van a little after 1135 am and then it was sent back out! Not being checked in and I got charged for 32.4 miles driven and it wasn't checked in till 5 something! I am furious! Plus I put gas in and was charged for it being returned with less than half a tank when I have the receipts for the gas I put in and it was above half a tank! They called me saying it wasn't returned at 136pm and I was mad then as I knew it had be returned ! It was parked in the return cleaning lane and was on camera returning the keys! Yet somehow it got sent back out and was never checked in and I was charged for someone else using it! This pisses me off and I filed a complaint with UHAUL and asked for full refund! And I will be giving bad reviews for not being able to trust this location! Very upset!Eric P.

I would like to preface the following by stating the Uhaul folks in the Bettendorf, Iowa and Davenport, Iowa locations were very helpful and I felt they did everything in their power to help me and my family. The next time I need a 10' van I'll definitely look to Penske, Budget, and Enterprise first. Had everything organized ahead of time to pickup the 10 footer at the Kimberly location in Davenport on Sat. 7/23/22. On 7/21/22 I received a call from Uhaul stating I would have to drive an hour from Davenport on the 23rd to get what I reserved or, I could get a little bigger van at the Bettenforf, Iowa store - 20 minutes from Davenport. I opted for the short drive and agreed to the Bettendorf vehicle. On the 23rd after arriving at the Bettendorf location I was told they did not have my vehicle. Again I was told I could drive an hour one-way to get the 10' van or I could get a 26' truck at the Kimberly Rd. location in Davenport. Off to Davenport we went where we were able to pickup the 26" truck. The Tow Dolly I reserved was also a debacle and I ended up not using it. After getting the tow dolly to our move-out location I discovered the heavy-duty nylon strap that wraps around the front tire and secures the vehicle to the dolly was nearly completely frayed through - not safe to hold a vehicle. Rather than wait for a field repair I opted to return the dolly to the Davenport store and drive the car home that we had planned to pull home.Tom G.
I didn't know that when I reserved a U-Haul, the location was just a preference. I had to drive 90 minutes to pick up my rental. Fortunately, I was able to pick it up in our time frame. I am concerned how far I might be required to drive to pick up my rental. I will think twice before using U-Haul next time because of that.Tomorra W.

Location was convenient so that's why I went there. I was really disappointed that the air conditioning didn't work in the truck so we got pretty sweaty, even with the windows rolled down. Using U-Haul has been a terrible experience. My partner and I each ordered a moving pod. Reserving it was easy, but then information regarding the dates of arrival changed with no notice for his pod. He wouldn't have noticed if he hadn't been checking online. Neither of us received the items we had ordered with the pod. His pod was then reported as "lost," and he had to talk to several people until his pod was located. Every time I called U-Haul with questions, no one seemed to know what was going on and I sometimes received different answers from different people. My pod was scheduled to arrive to the final destination on Wednesday the 22nd. I called the day before to confirm this, and they said it was scheduled. I showed up and the pod was not there. I called and was transferred to 4 or 5 different people until I reached someone who could tell me that the date had been changed online. They asked me if I had changed it, and I said no, I certainly did not. The pod arrived the next day which was a huge inconvenience. The person I talked to said I'd receive a $50 refund. I feel a larger refund would be more appropriate considering the problem and cost of movers that I had to cancel. Overall, there appears to be a very poor system in place for communication within the company and few people are able to answer questions. I will say that both of the drivers for delivering and picking up the pods were great folks and very communicative.Jessica M.
I had an issue that my original booking that Was booked on line had to be changed as that location dis not allow for 1 days. Then why dies your website allow when making the reservation. Had to change location and when I went to pick up there was no truck. Then I had to drive another 65 miles to the Davenport location. The representative always said no when I was trying to confirm adjustments that the scheduler made on my bill. The Davenport reps were defensive and also said no that the adjustments were not done but they had been. Then some guy came and said I already signed the contract when I just was making sure I had enough mileage allowed due to the further distance I had to come to pick up the truck. This error. Of no truck available at the Coralville location cost me time, extra gas for my car and the truck as well as the people I had lined up to help were not available by the time I got the truck back to my home.Michael M.

Staff is beyond rude. Standing around talking in a group and giving you disgusted looks when you ask for help after 10 minutes of standing there feeling like your interrupting them. Cursing at customer every single person was bitching about how bad their day is and cursing in front off all customers. When I asked them to explain the charges three people explained it to me all three explanations were different none of them made sense and the numbers did not add up. I eventually gave up and just left because the paper work totals added subtracted divided multiplied none of it made any sense. Was told I got a discount because I was straight to my face called a liar was $20 something off my bill when from my calculations they charged me way more than I needed to pay. I was called a liar because I said my friends card had been charged the day she picked up and then I had called the next day because we were behind on time and needed to extended the rental the lady said that was fine and took my debit card information and the balance was taken out of my account that night. After repeatedly being called a liar I showed them my bank statement and had to have my friend send a screen shot of her bank statement saying the money had been taken from her account the day of rental and the payment was complete. That's apparently against your policy. The employees still maintain that her card was ran today and declined despite I have a bank statement saying the payment was taken and completed on the day of rental. There's so much more I was also disrespected to and spoken to as if I was a young teen being punished I am an adult woman you can talk to me reasonably. I never write reviews or send in feedback so if I'm doing that something is seriously not right. I was ripped off and have NEVER IN MY LIFE experienced such lack of decorum in the workplace, disrespect to customers, cursing on their cellphones I was yelled at at one point in the most condescending tone. If I wasnt busy as fuck and a single mother I would take the time to write the worlds worst google review. I am serious when I say this your business was the worst experience I've ever had in my life and I've been in the service industry for over 14 years, that's sad. I've never asked for a refund for anything money is not an issue for me but I would like a full refund because that was terrible and embarrassing for your company. Your employees are mean disgusting people. I was given a â€œdiscountâ€ and you guys still managed to over charge me and rip me off. I have been a general manager for 10 years and if I was their manager I would've walked in and fired everyone in the spot that was a disgusting display of customer service.Barbra E.

Reserved unit was locked on arrival and not available. Manager was need to call locksmith to remove lock for use, told it would be 2 days before it would be available.
