Renting the truck in town prices wasn’t what the price pro rate of whatever there a claws within the find print.. I don’t care how many miles you get it’s ridiculous the prices are.

Drop-off location was fine, if slow. No issues worth noting. Uhaul.com webmaster team - open up your survey to include the reservation process - it is in need of an overhaul. Specifically, after I made the reservation, I could not go in to change it or cancel it; and your opening screen needs to be more explicit to better delineate between an in-town rental versus a one-way rental, and that you cannot change this after the fact.

The organisation in SoCal were sharp as a tack and about as professional as one could expect. Then we get to Davenport. What I experience in SoCal was totally missing in Davenport. Staff failed to make contact by phone as was stated in contract so that after 2 days I called them. They failed to call back as promised and several attempts I made to call the office in Davenport resulted in being answered, after several rings, by reps all over the country. A couple of these commuted to contact Davenport to ask that I be called by them; no return calls. After going to the office I felt like I was imposing on their day. The staff members seemed untrained in the U-Box program even to the person who seemed to be "in charge" of that program. I spent what seemed to be twice as much time as needed and that watching a comedy of ignorance. The training of staff seemed the major issue.. The contrast between my experience in SoCal and in Davenport were almost like day and night. I was totally surprised considering the size of the Davenport facility. A reconsideration of how the staff training plan is employed may well improve the situation..

The rental truck we had reserved had been wrecked the night before and no one bothered to call and tell us prior to our trip there. While processing our rental, for a different vehicle, we witnessed the employees telling each other they weren't going to answer the phone as it rang over and over again. When returning our rental truck, we were incorrectly charged for items we did not use. We waited on hold for 40 mins with the Davenport location until someone finally answered from a service center department to refund us (we assume this is because they dont like to answer the phones).

This is the absolute worst first experience I've had with a company. We were double booked for the truck requested, were able to get another and then charged twice for the same vehicle. It did not seem there was communication amongst departments either.

I have never used the ubox. Moving across country with a smaller load the ubox worked great. Nothing was broken. The moving blankets helped a lot. We only opened one bag of six of the blankets. We will recommend the ubox to family and friends.Thanks uhaul for making this moving experience go very smoothly.

I reserved a cargo van the night before to 563- 293-2673. I needed it for an unexpected trip to Iowa City to pick my daughter up from college. I was told it would be $19.99, plus 29 a mile. I held it with my debit card, and was told I could pay cash when I picked up the van. Well as you read this; I know you realize that none of this information given to me was correct to my specific case! So when I got there in the morning, along with my own personal issues, I was taken aback when I was told I couldn’t pay cash! This was a last minute reservation due to my husband having to work unexpectedly. Leaving my daughter and I ( with the flu) to move her home! I had to call a family member to get out of bed, to pay the bill! I’m sure this doesn’t mean anything to a large corporation like UHAUL, but it does to me! In Iowa the flood is causing difficult times for some citizens, my family is in the mix. If the call center staff could be trained properly and have the education to to tell the truth and not cause any more stress during a already stressful situation would be AMAZING!! As far as I’m concerned it was false advertisement and deserves a call to BBB, but I am waiting to see if you will be taking time out to fix this situation for this one single case in a day of many across the USA. Please prove me wrong!! Thank you!!

Did not like the high pressure policy used by the manager to sell added insurance! Truck was covered with hundreds of tiny stickers marking every minute nick, scratch, rock chip, paint and graphics blemish. Was suggested that I inspect every inch of the truck for missing stickers or risk being responsible for damages upon return, or buy the added insurance. If this is a location or company policy it is absurd. Will never use uhaul again and will warn others of this tactic.

In short, don't promise inventory you don't have. We arrived to a long line of 4 renters. After a while, the counter agent called for assistance and things went quicker. We found out that the 26 ft truck and car dolly that we reserved was unavailable. We got a 20 ft truck and had to leave the car behind. So now we have to make another 8 hour trip to move the remainder of our belongings and the car. Otherwise the rental experience was unremarkable. -- Scott Swanson

Online reservation didnt work. In office employee was rude, lazy, unhelpful and seemingly clueless perfectly happy to make me stand in the rain.

Although I did as much as I could before arrival regarding pre-check-in and paying in advance since I was on a time crunch, there was another customer there and another arrived while I was waiting. It took an hour, she tried to get everyone through the paperwork, then went out with everyone to get the gear they needed. She had trouble getting the lights to work on my trailer, maybe since the uhaul plug was old and beat up and exposed to the elements? She took the black rubber tags off the trailer chains and reversed them saying somebody had them on wrong. I had to look into it to make sure it was clean when she was helping the other person after she couldn't get my lights to work. (I had junk in one uhaul once, and another time there was damage to a roof and rain got all over my stuff, so I check them now). I have also picked a trailer up here before and both times it was average.

My invoice is wrong. I drove like 13-14 miles and was charged for 54. The odometer was wrong when I check in via the app. I sent a picture even. Then i was also charged for an appliance dolly that I didn't get. I didn't notice as the store because I was exhausted after the move, but I definently want to talk to someone about this!

Complaints regarding my rental 29532480. First, when I started the truck the low oil pressure warning light was on, but the gauge read normal. Told the owner about this and she said the truck had been recently serviced and they must have forgot to reset the light. Drove on the highway for an hour and when I pulled off the oil pressure gauge dropped to zero. Stopped and checked the oil level and found it 2 quarts low. Purchased two quarts of 10W30 oil (at $8.50) which brought the oil pressure up to normal AND the warning light went out. Obviously the truck was low on oil from the start. Want to be reimbursed $8.50 for the oil purchase. Second, the inside of the windshield was so dirty I couldn't see through it when driving into the early morning sun. Stopped and washed it FOR YOU. Please respond to this e-mail so I'm sure it's been received. The results of this review will determine if I would recommend this location to a friend. Roger Duffey

I was wrongly charged seven months rent of a U-Box on my credit card. I left MANY messages for West Davenport manager Denise Wagner to return my call. I had to call Customer Service to get any respons

Seven months ago I rented a U-Box for five days and paid for it. A couple weeks ago I received an email from U-Haul stating I owed money. I called the phone #, explained the problem, and was told that the West Davenport Manager Denise Wagner would call me back. She did not call me. A week after that I did get my credit card bill which showed a charge of seven months rental of the U-Box plus late fees. I called again and was on the phone for 47 minutes. The West Davenport U-Haul manager Denise Wagner did return my call later that day and refunded my credit card the full amount. Last week I got am email from U-Haul stating my credit card had been charged for another month's rental through auto-pay. I called three times over a five day window and spoke with Denise Wagner's West Davenport employees asking that she call me back. She never returned my call. I called U-Haul Customer Service. They said they would reopen my case and Denise or Customer Service would call me back that day. They did not. Denise did call back the following day and says she closed my account and refunded the month of U-Box rental and cancelled the auto-pay. I am very unhappy and dissatisfied with Denise's failure to return my calls despite repeated messages from her different employees and from Customer Service. I would not recommend her franchise.

Loved the cargo van I rented. This is the 3rd time I've rented a van of this type. It fits my needs perfectly. My only issue is the check in process by phone. I can never get it checked in easily or correctly. I'm sure it's user error but the most frustrating part of my moving experience shouldn't be checking the van back in at the end. I was told to have the van back by 5:30 which I did but the store closed at 5pm...I had no choice but to use the phone check in process. I was on the phone with customer service for 45 min trying to check the van in. I was beyond frustrated and I was put on hold for a "brief" 11 minutes during this time while I sat in the parking lot. Happily I was not charged extra fees for my "late" check in but I will make it a point to check in while the store is open and avoid the automated check in.

I paid cash for my uhaul which was $29.95. Since I paid with cash my total came up to 100$ flat deposit included. About 2 hours later I returned the uhaul expecting a refund.. a male employee told me it would be credited back on my card lol ( what card is he talking about I have no clue) so I told him I paid cash about 4 times. He claims they have no record of it. Then he calls a woman up. They count his drawer he’s $43.55 over. He says well my drawer is over anyways just have it. Lol the woman looks highly confused. Weird

I had to go inside to get service and people were just standing around. Then the employee just talked about what time she got off work. She was friendly, but not service oriented. She never asked about what equipment I rented either. I had to explain that to her and show her the hand truck and blankets. It was fine, but not your best service.

Uhaul employee said racist remarks toward me, and refused to rent to a man that came into the store to rent a truck because she assumed he was with me because he was BLACK!!! Just sick!!!
