My rental was a one way, few hours rental. Somehow I think I was put in the system for a 24 hour rental. I picked up the vehicle in Exton, PA, at 12 noon, on Friday, June 12th and returned it the same day, Friday, June 12th around 5 pm to 7400 Ogontz Avenue . The U-Haul store was open, so I did a curbside return check-in with a gentleman who immediately opened the back of the truck, then began cleaning the cabin of the vehicle. I asked him if I needed to go inside to officially turn the truck in and he told me no. I should have followed my mind and entered the store because the next evening, I received an urgent voicemail message asking me to call U-Haul, and when I did, I was asked, "Where is the truck you rented?" I explained that I picked the truck up in Exton on Friday, used it, and returned the truck the same day around 5 to a live person. The gentleman then told me , "Okay, I'll take care of it". When the receipt was emailed to me, it stated that I returned the vehicle on Saturday at 12 noon. Not true. The "missing truck" saga with no explanation , and the inaccurate receipt were both unsettling.

Mr.Melvin was very pleasant and the gentleman that receives the returns was very pleasant as well.

Melissa HOnly concern was the storage unit was infested with ants. While this was taken care with spraying the unit and spotted some type of disinfectant. This was an outside unit so they all be routinely checked for bugs and outside rodents prior to renting them. I make routine visits to the storage unit to ensure the problem does reappear. The staff was very accommodating and apologized and attempt to fine another unit but there were none available. Due to my time constraints I had to accept this unit.
EVONNE THello I would like to say everything was good I made reservations online a few days earlier and when I went to pick up the 9' Uhaul van today @12pm June 3, 2026 I didn't have to wait and the young man was very professional he gave me the paperwork and keys and I was on my way...It was easy peasy from beginning to the end and I just loved the new vans...Thank you UHaul at 7400 Ogontz Ave @Washington Ln Philadelphia, Pa 19138 This is the only Uhaul that I use.....❤️❤️❤️🥰

Ife HWhat you'd expect for Philly - The UHAul reservation system has some issues - there were no trailers available at most of the locations close to me so I had to travel to this location - and it took extra time - and when I got there the reservation had been archived or something because I was there several hours than the original time in the reservation.

I ended up discarding items that were dirty as I thought it was due to just sitting in the unit for a while. But there was water dripping from the ceiling of the facility directly into our unit and fell onto my hand. Also, when I went back the next day, there was dirt on bags and they felt wet. It was 12/29/24 and since we moved the items forward, you could tell the floor in the back right hand side of the unit was wet. I saw brown debris on the top of the unit which made since that mixed with the water, where all the dirt on my bags and on and in boxes came from. I put in a claim by calling U-Haul but the rep at the facility advised if I have no insurance on the unit, I would not be compensated. I wouldn’t see how that would be customer focused and would hope to be offered something for my loss.

The woman gave me a 5×10 which was $169 which was the most expensive they had after I just told her I wasn't trying to pay that much. I was furious when after giving me the grand total the overall price went from $169 to $186!!!! Instead of her telling me what the overall would be with taxes she just continued with the transaction without even asking if I would like to proceed and then said she had to hold on to my debt card so I could purchase the Lock and keys which was an additional $12.95!!!!! I spent $198 which was completely insane and over my budget. Then after milking me our of money and not caring she told me last min what I couldn't even store which should be something either posted in storage or told to people before hand especially of people are trying find a storage unit that's convenient. Most storage units give you a month off free, but I was told I didn't qualify because I wasn't using their truck and to use the truck you gotta travel a certain distance. That's ridiculous and after hearing that I really should have tooken my business elsewhere. Overall I won't be even using this place for a month and will be relocating my items and getting me a FULL refund. That's almost $200 & I wasn't even satisfied with anything. The woman didn't acknowledge my grandma when she said hello or tried to get her attention. She was no help on suggestions or anything. Not to mention had me and movers unloading items in the dark, another staff member told us to use the flashlights on our phones cause the lights were been supposed to be on but next shift dropped the ball on that too. I will be letting people I know hear about this horrible experience, including the credit union I work for so I can get that refund and I know first hand how the dispute process works so it won't be no issues.

George S | Overall ExperienceThe shift manager who showed the storage site was cordial. In order for her to allow me to examine it she had removed a green padlock. Once I inspected the storage locker we returned to the office where I agreed to take it. I'm quite sure I asked her about placing a lock on the storage unit and I understood I could put my own lock on it. The following day I received a phone call from an employee stating "I need to come in to put a lock on the unit. This would eliminate anybody else from putting something in it". At that time I replied "I'll be in today to put a lock from Home Depot on it". When I arrived later the second day I had my "Home Depot" lock in my hand. I asked the same employee for the scissors on her desk to open the package. She may have been distracted because she was talking to a customer on the phone. So with the Home Depot lock in my hand I went to the storage unit. Upon inspection all the units had round locks on them except mine. It had the same green lock as before. So I returned to the office and informed the employee and it was at that time she informed me that "it had to be a U-haul lock". Once I signed the papers she should have informed me then I had to use U-haul locks only! Now I have an extra, unnecessary lock.

Absolutely scam, so much so that I didn’t pay a cent to them in over two months of being there. Complete wasteland and poor excuse for a legitimate business. When I first rented the storage I was giving a specific storage number on 9/17 do to a system interruption U-Haul closed early that day so I came the following day. Someone was living in the unit that wasn’t supposed to be. I had to switch unit the guy told me it was going to be the same price but it wasn’t, and no discount that he claim would have because I really didn’t want my items outside. While walking to the unit the guy was smoking cigar. I expressed how unprofessional that was, he said his manager was fine with it. In February a red lock was place on my unit I went in the store and asked why the lady look my account and said she didn’t know why because the account wasn’t delinquent I asked her to remove the lock she said another person put the lock on and wasn’t there at the moment I explained I had a party to get to and I wanted to get my 360 machine but I couldn’t she was an old black woman in her 50’-60’s said she was the only one there at the moment and no manager. I left my phone number for the gm to call he never did (Miguel) I called 1800- U-Haul they gave me his cellphone number he never answered I left messages every time I called the store he was never around about a week ago I called the store again asked for him the woman said he was busy I explained I been trying to get a hold of him for months and if my call wasn’t returned I was moving my storage, about 5 minutes later Miguel returned my call I told him about the situation he than tells me I was at the wrong unit I told him I have pictures of the lock and his on staff apologized for it him and myself went back and forth i told him I would never use this place and that money was the last I would every spend in that store management is HORRIBLE staff are lazy and careless they don’t know what customer service means.

Higher upset never handle the situation correctly. Instead they keep a balance on people units and made them still pay. They cut locks of and put there own lock on when they please I’m missing items. Also they put you name on other accounts and charge you money and you don’t even have the unit.

That was occasionally late at night, and I always felt secure. The whole outdoor space is lit up like daylight at night, and monitored. The units have a very loud alarm system that activates as soon as the the bolt on the doors is disengaged. The employees were better than good, always funny and friendly and extremely helpful. I also used their moving service. The two gentlemen who were sent out to me were so sweet and kind and lightened the mood on a very stressful day.

Kathleen C | First Impressionsit was the worst experience I ever had with everything that's going on in the world I could have put my items in storage and not have to worry I ask for a storage unit to fit the size truck that I wanted I rented a sixth a 17 foot truck and got a closet for a storage unit it was at least a two bedroom apartment size trucks and I got a car trunk for storage I don't understand in what universe that matched I could not get into the unit it was un locked that could not find the key granted it was just one person in the office I just wouldn't recommend anyone use this facility at this time
