Easy, fast and convenient
MOHAMMAD ASuper easy drop off. New young guy /staff that was super friendly & helpful. I just drove in and he walked out, unhitched the trailer and that was it! Very very easy and convenient rental - would definitely rent again.

EARL MMy review isn’t about either pickup or return location as my review is about the customer service staff that failed to have our truck ready for pickup as we were turned away from our original pickup location which was close to home only to waste an 1 1/2hr extra hours as I had to go to another location to pickup as we booked this all in advance online originally. I set an original pickup location only to receive a call a day before to tell us that they change our location but assured us all was set for next day. Next day arrives and we go to pickup at the new location at 6am only to learn that you CSR didn’t inform our location and have our key set in the truck to pick up and we’re now told over the phone that they now wouldn’t be open to 9am (3hrs later) and as such had to find us another pickup location which is now further and an hour later then we originally requested pickup. All said and done 3 different pickup locations and lost an 1 1/2hr of moving time as we has scheduled service elevator time for our move out of town Total inconvenience and didn’t even offer an apology nor any discounts for my inconvenience. $500 rental for literally 8hrs of of use. Your statement of $19.95 or $29.95 a day + + is totally misleading the public.
Mike FI had another great experience with the U-Haul location at 745 York Street. Running a business properly means consistently getting all the small things right, and the team at this location does exactly that. They are dependable, professional and always make the rental process easy. I am grateful they are as good as they are because their excellent service makes my job much easier. Thank you again to the entire team!

Daniel AThe equipment was reasonably clean and generally well maintained, although there were a few minor dents. I would still recommend this location. However, my main challenge was returning the U-Haul. Due to a road closure at the time, I had difficulty accessing the designated return location, and returning it to another location would have resulted in additional charges. I tried several times to contact U-Haul customer service for assistance but was unable to reach anyone. The phone wait time was extremely long and frustrating. Better customer service availability, especially for urgent return issues outside the customer’s control, would greatly improve the experience.

Oswald TI had a terrible experience with U-Haul. I had a confirmed reservation, but when I arrived, the staff refused to give me the vehicle because they assumed I “looked like I had smoked.” I clearly explained that I DO NOT smoke. I work night shifts, had been packing and moving without sleeping, and that was why my eyes were red. Instead of listening to my explanation and treating me respectfully, I felt judged purely based on my appearance. What bothered me even more was that they apparently added something about this incident to my profile. When I booked another U-Haul two days later, another employee brought it up and asked me about going to the previous location “after smoking.” It was embarrassing and completely unacceptable to have an assumption that I had already denied follow me to another booking. I understand that U-Haul needs to make sure customers are safe to drive, but there is a professional and respectful way to handle those concerns. Customers should not be made to feel accused or judged simply because they look tired or have red eyes. Moving is stressful enough, and this experience made it much worse. I felt disrespected and unfairly judged. Unfortunately, based on the way I was treated, I cannot recommend this location.
Jobanpreet SAgain there was no dolly to help my movers with my move and this was at 9:40am on a Saturday close to month end. Suggest getting more dollies to rent.

Gabriel MThere was trash in the vehicle from previous rental. The interior had a strong unpleasant smell. It smelled like horse manure. When the staff was made aware of our dissatisfaction with the vehicle rental. They pretended to be challenged when it came to smelling foul odours. In future we will consider other options when renting a vehicle.

ROBEL TI, along with my pregnant wife had to stay an extra day in London instead of going back home 2 hours away, as we could not return the trailer to this location due to physical access being cut off by overnight construction which we had not been told about. We were sitting in a parking lot beside the location, on the phone with UHaul customer service for an hour trying to figure out what to do at 11 pm. The options we got from the representatives over the phone were to either drive back to our home town with the trailer, or return the trailer in the morning. Both options incurring additional expense and stress for us. Awful experience all around, with the exception of the phone representatives being very understanding but having no power to do anything for us, nor the ability to tell us if not returning the trailer on time or at another location would cause extra charges. The customer service agents tried to reach the manager of the location twice, and were not able to get them to pick up the phone to advise on what to do.

Don sThe trailer I rented worked perfectly, service was quick and efficient and the people I dealt with were professional. I would have preferred to pick the trailer up in Oshawa and return it to London when I was finished but this was not an option available to me.

KRUNAL AThe drop off location was changed while I was pulling into the parking lot to drop it off, when I advise I was already here. I was told I need to go to the new location.I was given the incorrect address of the new location, which ended up taking me 30 minutes to get to from the original location. Overall terrible experience, dropping off the rental, resulting in an additional 45 minutes.
mike FChecking in via the app sucked. Took forty five minutes and finally had to call someone for live verification. Truck was dangerously close to causing an accident due to the driver’s side tire. Toll agents at the Port Huron station noticed the wheel’s misalignment which is why the truck was making grinding noises. In addition the truck was with less than an eighth of fuel. I had to add fuel before even getting started. And now the drop off location is charging me $80 for a fucking refuel. I will fight this charge.

marius mThanks for asking the feedback I utilize the rental vehicle for 1hr only from 2:10pm to 3:10pm but they charged me for 2hrs till 4:35pm its very injustice. If someone who reading these feedback should take action immediately. I am available to visit inperson for this issue. Thanks and hope for a positive response

Mona MDuring online booking -I added dolly and when I went to pick the truck-the service agent told there is no dolly inside the truck and they were out of dolly’s and I didn’t get one. The service agent said the dolly’s goes on first come serve basis. Then what’s the point of ordering when I do the online order. Went to other uhaul store and they didn’t just rent dolly as they give it along with the truck . This I have to move my furnitures and everything with out a dolly..

Apostolos PI received an email stating that the pickup location was 1080 Richmond St. However, when I arrived, there was no truck available at that location. I contacted customer service and was informed that I had to pick up the truck from a different location. As a result, I had to pay additional costs for an Uber, as well as extra mileage and gas charges for the U-Haul. This situation was very inconvenient and could have been handled much better. I believe customers should be informed clearly and in advance if the pickup location changes, rather than being notified only after arriving at the original location.
Wittawat TThis is BY FAR THE WORSE location and trailer I have EVER rented and been to. The staff were rude, and lazy, and the equipment was BEAT. I waited for over 30 minutes for an employee to come hook me up before hooking it myself, then waited another 15 minutes for someone to take a photo before I gave up and left. Then I got an angry call from one of the staff members. The trailer was absolutely FUCKED. Bent and beat and smashed up real good, the harness for the lights was missing. But luckily I keep one in my truck for ky personal trailers. The trailer towed AWFUL both empty and loaded, pretty sure the axel or frame is bent. I will NEVER come back to this location unless itd my only choice

WOW what an exceptional man. You couldn't ask for a better representative. In everyday he elevates the experience while being direct, always open to speak with and I am so thankful I was able to connect with him for my storage needs. He is exceptionally professional and having owned 6 business' in my career and Mazwan is a very rare breed. My only suggestion is that you should clone him and have him everywhere. He should be training locations and doing what he does for york st. He leads by example all day everyday and when he's not there his staff maintain the image he has built. Feel free to contact me at anytime for any reason, I can't say enough and it's all very true. He is a keeper and the entire company could benefit from his life skills and very professional demeanor. Thank for the chance to convey the thoughts I've been having for six month's.

I stepped on a broken paraphernalia drug pipe in the washroom; not the cleanest I've used in other facilities. This certain group were using the washroom as a place to clean themselves, though it is not a problem to me personally others would look on it as one. Though our particular unit was clean there were some that should have been tended to. Overall, the storage locker meet our needs but the conditions should be dealt with on a more frequent basis.

MARK S | First ImpressionsI have rented 3 trucks from this location just since July, along with two storage units. Unfortunately, my experience with the manager has left me very disappointed. When I went to empty my storage units (which had already increased by $15 each before the first month was even finished), we realized our car had been gone through and the keys were missing. I asked if the locks could be cut and offered to pay the fee, but the manager said he was too busy. I explained that I had a limited window of time, people helping, and a large amount of material for a business renovation on a strict timeline—but he still refused and told me to call a locksmith. After waiting over an hour, I ended up paying $235 out of pocket just to have the locks removed. Given the amount I’ve spent here in the last few months, I would have expected a little courtesy and support. To be clear, everyone else I dealt with was wonderful. The cleaning woman and the young man who helped maneuver the vehicles were excellent and made a real difference. But because of the manager’s refusal to help in such a simple situation, I will be taking my business to another storage facility going forward.

My only complaint is that I was not told, before I showed up and was on a limited amount of time, that the option to not select the insurance was unavailable on the small vans. When I selected the option to waive the insurance the manager, Mazen Fayed, told me it was unavailable. It's a small amount, $19.57 but it should be noted on the website when booking.

She clearly judged me and treated me poorly at the cancellation time. I had a very good interaction with her a month ago as she was the only one who set up my account. No one should be treated how I was treated and it was clearly shown in her behaviour as i had a nice interaction with her while setting up but not at the cancellation time.

Timothy T | Overall ExperienceSo i am only a few days into renting this storage unit. so far i like the facility. looks clean. but the extras that are supposed to make me confident in keeping my stuff there have left a lot to be desired. went in to drop some stuff off tonight Jan 13 at 830ish and there were homeless all over. the place stunk. the alarm was going off like crazy and the intercom didn't seem to reach anyone. so when looking for assistance is a waste of time. the keycards mean nothing people banging at both doors only to see one of them manage to get in when I'm the only person in the building. kind of scary. the bathroom that i needed on the weekend was a mess and according to the map there's a closer set but the doors locked with no label.

However that site was full and only offered outdoor options so I chose York St. Most the employees I have dealt with at York St were pleasant and helpful as well, though the staff seems to change fairly often.

Once you get in trouble for w.e reason they feel the can use against you, it turns into limited access resulting in denying access to your unit due to having a job and not being allowed past 7pm. Was forced many times to come at inconvenient times to grab/drop off things that forced a rushed, frustration experience each time. Definitely picked on certain classes of tenants at this location.

This is not a reflection on the employees or the company. It seems some of the renters do not have respect for the facility, others people, (or even themselves).

The staff here are excellent but the property is brutal. I think you need to hire more security guards. It was very intimidating being around this much crime.

Carey T | Overall ExperienceFirst of all, I had trouble understanding the move in process, and the staff member did not clearly explain how to get into the storage area. I went back to the office three times before she helped me get in by walking me through the process. The washrooms were disgusting and smelly, and there was no toilet paper. In the few weeks I used the storage unit, the washrooms were never cleaned, repaired or restocked. We also had a problem locking the door one time. The office staff wanted us to move everything out to a different unit! Luckily I asked if there was someone who could just fix it. They called for maintenance and the latch was quickly fixed after that. Your staff should be better trained to handle these problems. While I was waiting at the counter for a resolution, a customer was having a dispute with another staff member, and it was being handled very unprofessionally. It was upsetting to me. Finally, when I wanted to empty my unit, there was another lock and a tag on it saying that I hadn’t paid. This was supposed to be a “free” unit for a month! I had to call someone to come and take the extra lock off. She said that they had lost my account information! I was pleased with the storage unit, and it helped me with my move, but I would hesitate to recommend this location to anyone.

They kept giving us storage units that were taken while we were trucking around loads of material throughout the facility. We finally found one. But it took about a half an hour.

Yet my items have not been returned to me in the same manner I left them. Thousands of dollars and efforts have been displaced. It is disappointing on top of that is having to then pay $275~ for 1 month of storage and not get the same value from the business. Staying calm is the best way to get to the heart of a issue but there needs to be the engagement level from staff that are looking to represent the customer first, the logic and care behind the interactions, and then the name of which you work for.

I love the fact that you have to swipe to disarm and swipe to open the door and you have your own lock for the unit itself. I needed a smaller unit and they were very accommodating about putting my new unit on the same floor so I could move things easily enough. I will highly recommend to others!
