I returned the two dolly early (to unload our truck, and return it later). Then the self-return after hours was messed up - no return option for the truck - and it was the dolly not checked in. When I came earlier in the day, the staff was mumbling and unclear about what they needed from me to return equipment in this manner.

I reserved the truck in Mahopac, NY and got a phone call saying that they did not have the truck and I would have to pick it up 30 miles away, so it was more expensive then we figured, but I needed it. thank you

People were fine and pleasant inside. Outside at return. Van was not particularly clean and the inside of the windows were so dirty when the sun hit it was difficult to see.Why give anyone 1/4 tank of gas? All they need to do is fill it once and make people return it full. How am I suppose to tell how much to put in to get it back to 1/4? The gauge on the form is inaccurate. There was n additional (very small) charge I was no aware of when rented. I realize this is not a car rental but should still be clean.

The unit was unsafe for placing items. I told them at the front desk to cancel. They did but never refunded the $108.10 taken from my account . I called 3x and was told I would get a call back so far nothing!!! Never using a company that robs people again

We were told the truck would have 3/4 full tank of gasoline but it was less than that, yet told to fill it to that amount on return. Other than that the woman at the check-in counter did a very good job.

My reservation was for 10 am. Got there at 9:50, line was crazy long. Only 2 people working the counter and going outside to help people with trailers or whatever. Didn't leave until 10:45 and even had a phone call from the office asking if I was still coming and I was in line.

Everyone is great except for Amy who appears to have let all that power go to her head! The last time we rented from this location I watched her berate another customer. The words were politically correct but everything else about the interaction was aggressive. This time, it was directed at me. I won't be back.

I am very upset because I was not able to speak with someone when returning the truck about my mileage difference. I was then charged later in the day and did not receive my receipt until 4 am the next morning. I was charged $100 extra for 25 miles over my estimated mileage and my insurance coverage charge was doubled. I will never rent with uhaul again

I come to this location simply because of the convivence of how close this location is to me. I have multiple units at this location as I am part of a corporate account with Uhaul however that does not mean I have to utilize this. It is simply easier for me being that we have a business account with Uhual however Convience does not out weigh service and respect. This location simply does not know the meaning of customer service. Everyone here looks miserable and is extremely unwelcoming. The manager has even gone as far as to use profanity after helping a customer before assisting me because the customer came back inside to ask again where to locate her rental when the manager said "You're not fucking listening to me" as the customer exited the building of course saying this behind her back. Literally every time I come back to return a uhaul I am left outside waiting for 15 to 30 minutes, sometimes just taking it upon myself to leave the vehicle there being that the employees are just hanging out in the office when people are ready to check rentals in for return. It is mind bobbling that there are so many 5 star reviews here and I would recommend that someone really takes the time to dig deeper into this location as there is much to be worked on.

The initial person helping me was clearly not able to check anyone in or out or knew how the process worked. I did pre check in and it still took 20 minutes for him to click on computer items. Better training is needed

I was in a bind from another company allowing me to make a reservation for a truck, then telling me the day of that not only was the truck I reserved unavailable, but also that they had no other trucks in stock. This place saved me from a moving nightmare! I was able to get the exact size truck I needed, same day, with less than an hour's notice. The staff was very accommodating and upfront about all the particulars. Great customer service, I will absolutely use them again.

Cargo Van was clean and the rental process was fast. The return was a bit confused, we parked the van at the assigned point someone met us without mask and did not explain the process. Other than that everything was fine.

My reservation was setup to be online (use my phone to check in and check out). When I arrived in White Plains, NY on 10/18/2020 at 7:10 am for my 7:00 am reservation and started the process to check out on my phone I learned that my reservation was "in person" and I needed to wait until 9:00 am when the office opened. I called the 800 number and they said that there was no way that the reservation could be changed to use my phone to check out. They did say that they could check to see if there was a truck in another location that I could change the reservation to that I could check on my phone. I had taken a Lyft to the White Plains location and the cost to take another ride to a different location did not appeal to me. The "in person" reservation makes no sense. Why would a reservation be made for 7:00 am if the office did not open until 9:00 am. When the office opened at 9:00 am the person helping me said that my reservation was for 7:30 am. That was a surprise. The 2-hour delay meant that my move would stretch past the time window that the home owners association where I was moving to allows. So, I am in trouble with the association from the start.

keep doing what you are doing! short answer is the team was pro-active in getting me setup SAFELY and quickly, then was proactively customer-focused when returning equipment. Ive used 3 different uhaul franchises in the past year and the white plains site is head and shoulders above the rest.

Received a call from branch in Newburgh, NY requesting that I contact Uhaul in regards to when I'm returning dollie. Even though I returned the dollie 2 days prior on the same day that I rented it. Felt very disrespected that I had to receive phone call accusing me of not returning the item that I rented.

I witnessed an exchange between the MANAGER of this location and 2 male (middle aged and senior) males and it wasn't in my opinion an out of the ordinary circumstance requiring police intervention but the manager turned it into one. The men were ahead of me in line so I was privy to the entire exchange from start to finish. They had apparently searched locations for a 15 foot truck and reserved one on line with the "on-line checkout process" and upon pickup they were only able to rent a 10 foot truck (as that is what the Uhaul location had despite the "reservation"). They were upset, trying to have an understanding of the rental/reservation (or lack of) process and not happy folks to say the least but were going to take the 10 foot truck. During the checkout period, the manager asked for their credit card and license and he said he had done that on-line and she asked for it again and they repeated why, as they had done in on-line, and at that point she said she wasn't going to rent to them and they should leave. She left the room and they remained as I believe that they didn't realize she was serious. I should note that no one ever shouted or got abusive with foul language. She came back after a few moments and advised them she had called the police. I had at this point finished my checkout process and upon leaving the scene the gentlemen had left and were speaking with the police outside. I spoke and advised the officer of my impression that this was not an over the top situation as they were not overly aggressive or abusive to the manager. It was certainly a colorful Saturday morning at the Uhaul. I returned my equipment with out any issue or drama thankfully later that day.

Again, even with NY State's stringent masking/distancing rules, the guy that unhooked my trailer was not wearing a mask and walked right up to my car window talking to me. Myself already masked, I had to roll the window up to avoid getting potentially infected. We are in a PANDEMIC and people are dying, for God's sake Uhaul please enforce this!

Frustrating to obtain keys. Did online check in on two separate rentals. Only needed to obtain keys but 1) had to wait in line while others were going through the whole process to pick up keys 2) lock box where keys were had the wrong code so had to wait in line to obtain right code. Drop off process was easy though the website.

Overall, customer service at 1 Virginia Rd, White Plains NY, was friendly, pleasant and professional from both the office/inside crew and the yard/outside crew. To me, this is super important and comforting because moving is a very stressful and unpleasant experience for most, myself included. Good job U-Haul !

With the new unit, I found some garbage on the floor and it is against the wall of the building and paint was chipping. I still went with unit because it is a little more space for me to go through/organize my stuff & I don't have to climb (It's ground level).... :"t's complicated" at home. My only comment about the facility itself was I wish it had more climate control. There is another self-storage location about a 7 min walk from this U-Haul but I had a bad experience with them before they changed hands. Part of the bad experience may still have a unit there so I am not comfortable using them which Is why I'm using this U-Haul location.
