This was not the location we requested nor the location we were confirmed at. The location we were confirmed at did not have a truck available for us when we arrived for pick up.
MICHAEL MBrand new mega U-Haul facility that has it all. I've returned rentals here and used storage here and I a UHaul fan now. The check-ins were streamlined and efficient. The storage was made available immediately and was pristine. Access is safe, secure and offers very generous hours.

GARY KThe issue isn't necessarily with this U-Haul location specifically, but with U-Haul in general. They have a difficult time honoring reservations made for a specific truck size. This has happened to me twice now, where a reservation that I make months in advance is changed 1-2 days prior to pick up, because they don't have the size truck available that I requested. This is basic fleet management, which shouldn't be a difficult concept for U-Haul since this is their primary business. So, in this case, I reserved a 10' truck, but 2 days prior to pick up, they changed it to a 15' truck. Through multiple phone calls to scheduling, I found out there was nothing I could do to get a 10' truck at that point, save for driving 1 hour away to another location to pick one up (which I did not have time to do, and U-Haul would not have anyone drive the truck to the designated pick-up location). The real kicker is that when I showed up to pick up my 15' truck, there were multiple 10' trucks sitting on their lot. So, when I asked why I couldn't have one of the 10' trucks sitting there since that was what I originally reserved, they said they were already reserved for others. It was simply baffling since I also had one reserved, months in advance. When I challenged them on it, they said they couldn't give me one of the 10' trucks since that would leave someone else without one. What?! You mean, what you just did to me? It's amateur hour at U-Haul, and I am officially done with them.

ROBERT SWhen U boxes were delivered, a cargo strap was over the latch so one of the U boxes could not be opened. I had to call and someone from Uhaul had to make a trip back out to address the issue.

John FI watched the supervisor or manager completely micromanage the staff assisting with my rental. Including critiquing his performance in front of me. If he was training this person I would understand but the person helping with my rental isn’t new and has assisted me with rentals here in the past. Always had a good experience with him. The manager/supervisor stood doing nothing to assist me or other customers and stared at the staff member at the computer watching his every move and critiquing him.

PAUL CI used an outside covered parking slot over the winter. There was a gate in the side section of fence often open to push snow out of the parking area. For a while a personnel gate by the building was not secured by a lock. I made sure all my equipment was locked and nothing that could be hand carried was left accessible. In all other ways I was very satisfied with the facility in Williston.

I see you've decided to charge me in full for that crappy leaky uhaul truck I rented AND you put it back out in the rental fleet to ruin someone else's stuff/day. It is ABSOLUTELY NOT sealed on top. OBVIOUSLY! There was an actual puddle on the floor of the truck when I returned it! This is the worst uhual service/truck rental I have ever dealt with. You insinuated that I somehow did this. More than once!! You were surprised when i told you i saw the patches, and accused me of getting up on the roof, you are practically calling me a liar. Your customer service skills are terrible. I am spitting nails, furious! I will take this complaint about the truck & YOU further. I will dispute this UHAUL & with my credit card. You/uhual will not keep my money for a crappy leaky truck that caused me a major hassle, ruined my stuff, and wasted my time. In case you didn't know.....Moving is stressful enough on its own! Add a leaky truck, ruined/wet stuff, a rude GM & charged in full! The most stressful moving experience ever! Uhaul will not EVER get my $$ for a truck rental ever again. Thank you for making this process more time consuming & difficult Patrick! You could've made this so much easier. Honestly, the young man who cleans out the uhual trucks has better customer service skills than you! I will mention him & his kindness to corporate. HE is a better candidate for the GM position. I hope he gets the job! Thanks again Patrick for the LEAKY TRUCK, THE BOLD INSINUATIONS, THE WASTE OF TIME and the COMPLETE lack of ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!! SINCERELY, KIMBERLY O'NEILL Patched holes in the roof of the truck leaked ruining stuff left in the truck during srainstorm. I now have wet stuff in storage GM Patrick Rose insinuated several times that I caused the damage. Which if Patches exist, how is this possible? I want a full refund. Claims of being weather resistant are bogus. I have rented multiple times in the past. This has never ever been an issue.

Christopher BThe information for the sizing of the trailers is inaccurate online. We rented the 5'x8' trailer states the inside is 4'-11" wide by 8'-8" long. The trailer has rails inside the trailer that restrict the actual inside to 4'-8" wide. 3" difference doesn't sound like much, but it makes a big difference if you have calcualted what you need and you need 4'-11". This should be corrected to show the correct diameter.

BRIAN FHave every trailer’s wiring checked. My first one didn’t work. I was told I had a grace period for a late return if the return location was notified and a grace was given. I notified the return location in Augusta, Maine of late return TWICE and was told “That’s fine” TWICE. I expected no fee penalty. I was charged a fee penalty.

PETER DOverall, it ended up being a very good experience. The reservation system is not perfect since it's easy for someone to rent out a truck ahead of you but not return it on time leaving you without a vehicle. Mine ended up getting repaired and was available, but it was close and there was no warning from the location that I wasn't going to have a vehicle. I had to keep calling to make sure it was going to be there. I ended up getting a duplicate reservation at another location just to make sure I'd have a truck. I don't really think this is a problem at the location Moore a problem with U-Haul's reservation system.

PHILLIP DU-Haul staff were very accomodating in prepping the trailor and correcting any deficits or missing pieces and assuraning complete operational capabilities before i left their parking lot. My only complaint was that the towing package installation did not include complete securing of the plug receptacle for the trailer light plug. This service was provided by the staff at the drop=off location.

david m | Overall ExperienceWhen I went to get the uhaul the person canceled my reservation that was for 6:45 because he wanted to go home, he almost left before I got there but I showed up and he had to stay. He was complaining to someone else I am assuming his ride or the security guy? that was in there because I couldn’t use Apple Pay I had to transfer money to my card it took maybe 5 mins. Then once I paid he gave me the key and contract said if I wanted to dispute the mileage or gas level I could do it in the contract I guess. I’m still not sure how that would work it’s a piece of paper. He then tells me I can just go get the truck it was obvious what truck it was. I had to ask him to show me what door to leave from because the door I came in was locked. i asked him to show me the truck and he literally just pointed to 2 trucks. I went out alone looked stuff over as much as I could in the dark. I was trying to figure out how to use the truck and get situated it took me maybe 10 mins to figure everything out while I was doing that he left. He didn’t ask if I needed help. He didn’t walk me to the truck he didn’t give me and customer service at all. He just complained I was taking too long and paced around the store. The latest it was when I left was maybe 7:10/7:15. I know they close at 7. Because I knew he was in a rush and clearly mad because I was taking to long to pay and leave my anxiety was really high and I was trying so hard to get everything done quickly. It was an awful experience and I wouldn’t recommend that place at all to anyone. He didn’t explain anything to me at all. I paid for mileage a few times and still got charged $300 for mileage I paid for. I wanted to drop off the truck while it was open so I could ask questions but I was worried he would be there and he would act the same because I work until 6:15 it would be around 6:30/6:45 when I got there and I don’t want him to get annoyed with me again especially if I asked questions. He was so rude and just didn’t care at all. I work retail and I could never treat my customers that way and I would get written up rid fired if I did.

GREGORY BTook about an hour to get the uhaul I had reserved because the contract had to be written 3 separate times because the odometer reading and gas level was wrong. It has not been swept out. Also why not just have the the uhaul be returned with a full tank? Instead I have to figure out exactly how much gas to put in to get the tank 5/16ths full. Why?

THOR SThe truck we got was terribly equipped for the snow and winter. It couldn’t handle over an inch of snow which proved to be a great issue when trying to move it in and out of even a plowed driveway. It got stuck multiple times and it took great time to get it out. Additionally, when driving in it for over an hour and with heat on blast, the air vent continued to blow cold air. In other words, it was a chilly long drive.

JACOB DStop requiring facial recognition for rentals. It's an abuse of power an overreach of personal data, and quite simply was never told to me before I rented the vehicle. If I would have known I would have gone somewhere else. Unfortunately I was unable to substitute and as with most moves time Is of the essence and a lot of money was on the line. I felt coerced and am not happy about it. I will be asking for all of my information to be removed from your system n. With that said the employees I dealt with were kind and understanding but unable to make changes due to your policy. I had no issues at the drop off location and it was easy and fast. Until you change this I will be using other services.
BRIAN WI have had my storage unit for over 2 yrs. I have gotten things out of it periodically over this time. Recently I went to get more things. Needless to say. My unit was infested with mice. From the looks of it they were coming from the unit next to mine. The smell and stains all over everything wasn't acceptable. It ruined a lot of my son's things including a 3000.00 bed mattress and box spring. Being a inside unit and no problem until this month I'm very disappointed. It's inside, we shouldn't have to worry about mice. I was never offered insurance, to be honest, I didn't think we would need it. It was a brand new facility.

I spent 2 hours loading my 55" OLED tv into my car just to find out I can't get into the storage unit building. Now I have to figure out what to do with my flat screen TV while it's 20 degrees outside and I have no where to bring it. If you prevent access after a certain time then it should be posted clearly.

Tiffany J | Overall ExperienceThere's lots of different people in and out of that building some you can trust some you can't trust some that shouldn't even be there nobody ever comes when the alarm goes off when the door is opened without somebody punching their coat in cuz it happens 100 times a day just because the building's open doesn't mean that you're unit is open I need to do a way better job describing how the system works and how to get in and out of the building appropriately so that when the alarm does go off they have a reason to look on the video to see why not ignore it and pretend they didn't hear it because it happened so many times a day the alarm is there for a reason which would have saved me a bunch of money seeing how I had tools stolen that we're sitting in the hallway and they breached unit opened the door and sold the lock cuz I didn't lock it thinking that it be okay since it was in a secure building well not so secure and when I asked the manager to go look back on the video tape you refuse to do it you didn't want to waste his time that's because my stuff had been in the hallway for several days because I was cleaning out sorting things and had lots of things going on at the time and didn't have the time for everything back inside the unit but it's my own fault for leaving it out

Responded to email, called the location, no one had the authority to assist and correct the error. I was told to text Patrick Rose, the manager, he was “too busy” to speak on the phone. He ignored my texts. When I went to retrieve my belonging on my third week there, the unit had been locked by the staff due to nonpayment. Had to wait in line yet again to get them to unlock it…. Unacceptable and unapologetic customer service. While uhaul is cheap, they certainly make hiring professional movers a more appealing option in the future.

The amount of feces, urine and pungent smell was unbearable. I had to wear an N95 mask and gloves. The manager was very helpful but with no insurance I will get no reimbursement. I had zero food in my unit, I left everything very clean with brand new mattresses etc. Not to mention having to expose myself to possible Hantavirus while cleaning out and throwing most of my stuff away. I had practically nothing to move into my new apartment and I am sleeping on the floor. NOT COOL!

I was charged double rent for a month that was supposed to be free through a promo, and Patrick refused to even answer the phone, even after U-Haul Corporate got involved. The regional manager ended up taking care of the issue for me after several weeks, but I still closed out my unit before the end of the month so I wouldn’t have to deal with the rude, incompetent, unresponsive staff at the Williston location.

This puts too much stress on your employees, and is a common and inappropriate business design, one which doesn't positively serve the human condition, but one that clearly represents corporate greed in action. i was helped by Bruce L at the Williston Road VT branch, Bruce took the time to clearly explain and demonstrate the facility's storage and security procedures- Bruce gets a 10 out of 10 rating.

And the last time I came in for a rental they had to log in again every time they went to a particular screen. It seemed frustrating and they really shouldn't have to deal with that. Please fix their computer issues for them! They deserve better!

On top of all that my security card doesn't work on the card reader and the person in the office couldn't fix the issue.

One recommendation I would make is to periodically clean the moving carts as they have seen a lot of wear and tear since the facility opened. Most of them have dirt, paint, other stains on them. I know a lot of care is put into cleaning the trucks and trailers that are rented out and it takes staff time to maintain the facility, but it would be nice to see that the carts get a quick wash from time to time. So , it paved the way to my renting a storage unit as well. Because of various delays and “hiccups” , l found that U-Haul was flexible with several unavoidable delays at my end , and were so accommodating with date changes and then time changes on top of it. I was pleasantly surprised and relieved that staff (not only over the phone, but in person), readily worked with me . Everything is efficient , clean and organized. The ease of renting a unit and a truck are “user-friendly” on-line. I cannot say enough good about this brand new U-Haul facility in Williston, Vermont.

My one complaint is that not only was bathroom was out of toilet paper, the trash inside of the bathroom was overflowing so much that it was taller than the sink and spreading out onto the floor and there was what looked like blood smeared around the sink. Because it was beyond the state of average use we when we arrived we mentioned it to one of the agents that the bathroom was out of toilet paper. We were there several hours unloading from a cross country move and saw the agents leaving for the day having not addressed the restroom at all and it got progressively worse as our day went on. In need of some serious attention, please.

I would recommend a bit more attention to detail as my name was botched once and that caused some issues with my reservations. The only reason I gave a 4 star (for OVERALL UHaul storage experience) was the online process (verification, check in) wasn't at all smooth and required me to call UHaul several times. I was always routed to the UHaul call center and found the interactions with the call center inconsistent - once I was dropped and another time was given the wrong rental unit.

Once I got help, they were wonderful, but there needs to be a better system in place and communication about employees’ whereabouts to customers; otherwise, U-Haul will keep losing business like the person I spoke to who was also waiting for 20+ minutes.

The national call center said there were no space available in the entire state of VT. I called several times trying to talk to someone @ the Williston location to see if any units might be coming available but was never able talk to someone there. The calls were always redirected to the national call center. I called the national call center again & requested the Williston location call me. I never received a call back. After trying, for several days, to reach someone @ the Williston location, I decided to call a different U-Haul location in Williston and to my surprise someone picked up. She informed me a new facility had just opened up in Williston, but I needed to talk to that facility to reserve a storage unit. She gave me their phone number and as usual I could not get through to them. I was finally able to reserve a unit by connecting with someone @ the national call center. I received an email confirming I had a unit reserved. A few days later, I got an email, from U-Haul, indicating I cancelled my reservation, which I did not! I tried, again, to reach the Williston location to let them know I planned on keeping my reservation but, as always, I couldn't reach anyone there. I was redirected to the national call center. They couldn't see that I had even reserved a unit, let alone they cancelled it. Fortunately, I was able to reserve another unit. I tried to reach Williston on my trip to VT from NC because I noticed the day I was to return the U-Haul truck was a day off. Couldn't reach them. The calls were directed to the national call center several times. I was able to get the return date corrected. I asked them when Williston location closed, they said 7 pm. We got the truck unloaded @ the Williston location around 6:30 pm. When I went to give them the truck key, the office was locked. I was told they closed @ 4 pm even though the hours posted said they close @ 7 pm. There were many other problems with renting the U-Haul truck as well. Not a good experience all around. I don't know why anyone would use U-Haul?

However I am having issues with the door closing. ***Also a big problem was that there are or were PODS placed right in front of the entrance sliding door and also they were taking up value parking spaces right in front. I except to be able to park near the door and not have pods placed there. There are only a handful of parking spots and to have pods there was not acceptable especially for what you charge for storage.

The young gentleman who helped us out had his hands full while I and five other customers were waiting for service, as he was the only staff on site. He was extremely courteous, apologetic for our wait time, and super helpful. You've got a good one there!
