I rented as a single female, to drive to NJ by myself for meeting mover/loaders up there the next day, then to drive it back to Winston Salem by myself. The attendant did not suggest to adjust side view mirrors before I departed. It was fortunate that my brother who dropped me off to pick up the rental stopped me from leaving and helped me adjust the mirrors before I left. I suggest two more things for checking in people to rent a truck: I did not understand the haul/tow button until the last 3 hours on my trip back from NJ. I would suggest that this is mentioned in check in, as it does say that it should not be engaged when driving in rain, and the dash board sticker says it should be only used when driving on dry pavement. I began my drive to NJ in extreme rain conditions on Thursday, October 29th, that were the tail of a hurricane. I wish I would have known. Secondly, I wish your check in included instructions on how the gate spring works. If the attendant had gone over that with me and made sure I understood that you lift it up, then press it down a bit to release the spring, it would have been extremely helpful. My mover loaders left and then I had several items I needed to load myself in my urban neighborhood in NJ, and I had to force the gate up as I had zero idea of how the spring released. I did this over and over and bruised my forearm severely as I used my forearm to push the gate up against the force of the spring. I had no other way to understand how to lift the gate. Someone else had to instruct me about how the back latch worked. The vehicle handled well and I felt safe as a driver.

The staff at this location were very professional, friendly and helpful! Scott in particular spent a lot of time with me in assistance with getting my car secured onto a tow dolly & without his help I would have been lost in this process. I highly recommend this location over others that I have dealt with in the past.

Make sure that the tires are fully inflated before customers get their vehicle. We got a low tire pressure message after driving for about a half an hour. Also, include a tire pressure gauge in the vehicle. There wasn't one in ours, and the first gas station's air was working, but the gauge was not, and after using the air, we found that the low pressure gauge was still on. We had to search to find another gas station that had air and when we found one, its air station didn't have a gauge either. However, we lucked out and filled the tire up enough to turn off the warning light.

I have no issues with the drop off nor pick up location personally. Truck was in great shape and was pleased it had cruise control, the lack of cc in the past 40 years of using your service was disappointing. With the above said you have great location coverage, surprisingly good equipment, cooperative and pleasant personnel. A big issue is the performance of you internal reservation IT is surprisingly terrible. 2 weeks ago it took me 1.5 hour to check in using the uhaul terminals, I had had problems with the app on a previous check in. The app kept crashing in the reservation process and I ended up without the 5 dollar key lock out coverage. This ended up costing me 250 for locksmith. Last time I usied your personnel to check in and took 1.5 hours. I used the app this time to make reservaton and check in and today I was trying to use app to review contract to see what time to bring truck back and app had no history. This is bad because the reservation and check in was accomplished via app. I ended up calling customer service to get the time.

Just make sure you reserve vehicles for the right days the user requested. I requested two successive Saturdays, and two successive Fridays were reserved instead. Thank heaven that Heather called to confirm, and straightened it out when I told her that it was supposed to be Saturdays, not Fridays. It could have been disastrous.

The employees did not secure the trailer on the hitch ball and ultimately damaged my truck. Two employees attached a trailer to the towing vehicle. Once complete, both employees instructed me to pull the vehicle for tow onto the trailer. As I pulled up the trailer ramp, the trailer came up and off of the hitch ball, lurching forward damaging the back of my truck. The license plate and tailgate to my truck are both smashed. The employees instructed me to submit a claim through Uhaul's customer service department after the incident. I submitted, but have not rec'd a follow-up call from Uhaul customer service or from management at the uhaul location. I've contacted uhaul more than 3 times to resolve. Highly frustrating and time consuming from a customer's standpoint. Beware.

First of all, the transaction was quick and easy. I rented the truck and bought supplies in less than 15 minutes. Customer Service was the best!!! This location gets 5 five stars from me. If you are looking for truck/van rental, I highly recommend using U-haul at the Marshall Street location in Winston-Salem.

We chose an upstairs unit which got very hot and sometimes difficult for our college student to move boxes back and forth. Choose a downstairs unit if available. Had some rat droppings in the unit.
