They refused to take my debit or credit cards because it is with Chime Bank, claiming it’s a prepaid card like CashApp. Which is not true at all, it’s a legitimate checking account and credit card I’ve had for almost a decade. This is the first time I’ve ever experienced this. I literally used my Chime account at the same U-Haul location a year ago. But I was treated like some scamming criminal instead. Thankfully I was able to use a different Capital One card and proceed with my move in spite of the sheer panic I had at the possibility of not being able to move my things to Bellingham, at which none of the staff seemed the slightest concern or compassion for. Speaking of which, when calculating mileage to Bellingham from Seattle an employee observing said “woaaahhh” multiples times making it seem like Bellingham was extremely far. Aren’t you all in the business of moving people? Have you not heard of someone moving to another city before? The whole experience was awkward and I would not recommend anyone to go to Ballard U-haul unless they want to be treated like some common criminal because they use Chine Bank.
Sean SThe website recommended a hauling company which was appallingly poorly staffed and trained. No equipment and they didn’t even have gloves , proper footwear or any training. You should vet the companies you post on your website they reflect on you as a company they certainly did for us. The rest of your company runs like a click but we are wondering whether to use you again based on the movers you posted. Most expensive btw, and top of your list and we chose them because we were hauling antiques thinking we could trust your word.
Sergio PThe key got stuck in the passenger door and very, very difficult to remove. I almost had to call Y-haul to get it out. Make sure all aspects of the equipment are working properly. When I picked up the truck I was told there was a 1/4 tank of gas. I drove 2.5 miles to the site, and the gas light gas light came on. Fortunately, there was a gas station close. Usually when I have rented a truck there is a least 3/4 of a tank. That way before returning I fill to that level. This time I had to try and predict how much gas I would need. The office when I returned the truck compensated me for the extra gas I purchased. This was nice if them. Beyond that, I was a good experience as it usually is.
Dennis SThe truck that was provided was very loud, seemed old, broke down on me. The area is full of homeless around the area. I suggest not sending customers out in vehicles that are not properly vetted and up to service. Do not recommend but do suggest going to any other site than Ballard. Customer service was not the best and had me waiting a week for my refund all to come find out it wasn't processed in the first place, then had to wait another several days.

SEVEN KWhen I first booked a van I was trying to get one in the U district. As soon as I made the reservation, someone called me to let me know that there were actually none available there but they got me a van at the Leary location. That simple phone call saved me so much stress and got me set up for a successful move. The staff at the Leary location were very nice and helpful. They explained all the charges and the best way to not end up with extra charges at the end of my rental. Upon return they were fast and efficient, and even let me return a mattress cover that I purchased but did not use. I'm not planning to move again any time soon, but I know where I will send anyone who asks!
Jessica SOur reservation was double booked so we had to pick up at a different location even further away, which added to our mileage charge. Originally was supposed to be $41 ended up costing $75 for less than 2 hours. Absolutely outrageous.

CHERI ELocation and staff was great. My experience with U HAUL was terrible. Couldn't book at the requested location,the reserved truck became unavailable, and the app failed to work for an after hours return. Made an already exhausting activity unnecessarily stressful and frustrating.
D MHaydn made sure that I was confident in driving our u haul in all of its workings. Haydn was there for pick up and return and walked us though in detail what was happening. The other person who's name escapes me was very throughout in their explanations of how procedures worked and I left confident knowing what I was getting in and out of. Thank you all for a positive experience during a very stressful time in our lives. We appreciate all you do to keep this U-Haul up, running and functional. Hopefully in two weeks we will be back to load up and haul our things again.

JOHN CGas tank for van was totally on empty - I got a fuel credit if I filled up to a quarter tank. I spent $15 to put in over three gallons and the gauge didn’t budge after fill. For only driving 8 miles on the rental putting in $15 of gas and having the hassle of filling up right away is not acceptable. An empty tank should be filled to at least a quarter before vehicles are available for rental (so the exceptions perhaps for really busy periods). Secondly, the fueling credit should be relative to gas stations nearby and adjusted for the size of the vehicle and mileage. If that is already the case, then your numbers are totally off and a terrible way to gain more profit on customers. The team was really friendly and efficient at the location but this is a location policy / system that needs to change. Overall, I feel ripped off.

TESSA RVehicle itself was fine and clean inside. Gas was very low (1/4 tank) to start which was a bit annoying but okay. Main issue was that there was a snafu with a customer leaving a vehicle on the lot which is not allowed and the employees were freaking out. Specifically one in particular was talking very aggressively with their co-workers, making other nervous, very aggressively brought the truck around. Understandably the situation is extra work for the employees and needs to be dealt with, but it seemed like an excessive reaction, and at least made several customers anxious. I've usually had decent experiences here, so it doesn't change my choice going forward, but something to improve.

MICHAEL OA $30.00 fee for gas is too high! I drove about 10 miles, forgot to get gas.Didn’t mind paying for the gas at a high rate but the fee is not right!

BRUCE BThey told me they would pay me for the remaining gas in the tank and I trusted them and filled the tank. While I spent 100 bucks to fill the tank and only used one quarter of it, they made just a 30-dollar adjustment. It was disappointing.

SALVATORE DThere was no way to return the truck key, as the mechanism on the return box was jammed. Another person arriving after hours was also stuck, without a way to return the key. The person on the emergency line had zero capacity to understand, and refused to even note what happened, they have no one to be locally there after hours. I was forced to wait until the next day. Meanwhile my phone blew up with a dozen messages, with the manager or owner telling me that I would pay for this etc etc. When I did arrive they ignored that the box was jammed, and refused to acknowledge it, dismissing my concern of breaking the box if I applied too much force. Totally unprofessional in every way. I wound up getting charged way over what I expected, probably their way of "getting me back" for the truck not being rentable in the between time. These people are complete jackasses.
SCOTT FThis was the smoothest rental and moving experience I've had in a long time. The day rate and self drop-off after hours is such a huge perk, everything went smoothly and easily. I also apprecied the amount of staff present in the morning upon pickup, I did not have to wait in line and got all the help I needed to quickly pick up my truck. The truck was in great condition and was exactly what I needed to safely move my possessions. Thank you very much team Uhaul, keep up the great product and service!!

EDIN FU box was not ready for the mover at the agreed upon time of 9 am. The mover had to wait in a long line and then convince the staff that the u box should have been ready upon his arrival.
