November 26th in the early afternoon, I rented from the Chelsea location. The woman behind the desk was extremely disrespectful and rude to a customer on the phone, to the customers ahead of me and then finally to me. First, she did not greet well, it was an eye roll and as if I were bothering her. She was speaking in a condescending manner to me and anyone she engaged with. The woman was speaking very fast so one could not understand her and then when asked to repeat she would roll her eyes and speak again condescendidly. There were two workers but the other worker seemed afraid to speak up. I will not return to this location and unfortunately If I refer anyone to this location I will let them know to look out for the rude and disrespectful woman.

I made a reservation and my phone number was incorrect and my reservation information was not received. I set a second reservation. When I went to pickup the vehicle I was given the wrong key and I took the wrong van and could not verify mileage or gas in the van. I called and was told it would be corrected. It took so much more time than what I would have expected because there were so many errors. Of course at the end I feel I was overcharged. Annoying experience and I would encourage you and your company to put more effort and monty in training your reps...

I arrived at 9:00am for my 9:30 reservation. The line had 11 people in front of me when I arrived with one attendant behind the counter to take care of all the people. I didn't receive the van until 10:30 I waited in line for one hour and a half! I was charged for the hour I waited. Why was there only one attendant on a Saturday morning? I would like to commend the attendant. He was calm, kind and courteous with every person in line. By the time I received the van the line had tripled in length from inside to the sidewalk. The people behind me in line were getting very restless and going up to the counter interrupting to ask the attendant questions. He kept his cool. I was impressed with the attendant. I felt sorry for the conditions he was having to perform his job. Your lucky to have him. I'm disappointed with U-Haul putting him in that type of situation without assistance.

There was only one employee at the front desk and I had to wait 2 1/2 hours in line to pick up my vehicle. Please note, this person was a gentleman and highly professional but he was put in a very hard client service scenario. This situation is totally unacceptable and embarrassing to your company.

We were moving from New york to Florida. I reseverved the truck 4 weeks in advance stating we are going long distance .I called pickup Location the day before because no one called me to confirm like they said they whould. When I did I was told they had no truck at that Location and I whould have to go to the city to get truck. Well this cost me $60 to get taxi to this Location has my original pickup is within walking distance. When I was given truck at the Ny Location I was given I truck with over onehundred thousand miles on it and interior was not clean and smelled . I asked for a newer truck and was told thats all they had. Not acceptable being I reserved truck 4 weeks in advance stating im going long distance. The truck started vibrating at 60 mph! Making a grinding noise making driving difficult this made our trip nerve racking to say the least . The noise and vibration only got worse making a 17 hour trip 25 hours because we had to drive slow. Also radio didnt work making it even worse all we had to listen to was the constant noise coming from the vehicle. Im very dissapionted in Uhaul and most likely never use or recommend there service. Holy moly. This was an experience. Walked in, there were 2 people behind the counter, one was sleeping on the desk, the other couldn't have been nastier and rude. I walked in at 745 AM and said, happily, “good morning”, not a single reply. Approached a counter and was rudely told to move over to the other. She had zero intention of being at work that morning, one word answers, simply nasty. I work in the service industry, and no one likes working on a Sunday morning, but wow, did they show it.

Delivering a vehicle to your customer (me) with 1/16 tank of gas is absurd and a huge inconvenience. Everything else about your product and service is so good and user friendly, why spoil the experience with something so obviously annoying but easy to fix?

Car was provided with barely any gas, and needing service. No equipment was packed in the car. I packed the equipment myself, but it was damaged and dirty. I was not aided with the boxes I'd prepaid for. Any questions I had were met with a rude response or being ignored/told to ask someone else. In line, I asked to extend my return window and was told to call in about it because they couldn't change the time at desk - even though they could and instead put the job and my time on the line rather than their handling it as should have been. The form the agent gave me listed the car as having a nearly full tank, which I had to dispute. When I went into lot, the persons who were minding vehicles were confused that I was boarding the truck.

Huge complaint about Uhaul policy NOT about the staff. The employee was great. The policy is horrible: I had to put gas in because I received it at quarter tank and the form I signed stated that at quarter tank you will be charged $30 if you return it at that level. That Forced me to get charged. That's just wrong! Also the location closes at 845 pm but I was able to reserve the van from 630 to 930 pm on the website. But the place isn't open at 930 pm!!!! So I couldn't use the van for the amount of time I reserved it for. Horrible!

Drop off during business hours was very easy and extremely efficient. The location is not far from a subway station. My expectation for a “clean and inviting” business like this in the middle of NYC at not high. I'm happy there was a place in Manhattan I could drop it off. I couldn't fine one with their competitors.

The experience was very frustrating. Not as a result of the representatives at the location, but because of the experience with the call center representative. She assured me that the location had a pick-up truck available. I asked her twice because the last time I was at this location, I overheard other customers complaining about the vehicles they reserved not being available. I was requesting a pick-up truck only one hour in advance of the rental start time, so I wanted to make sure it was at the location. The call center representative assured me multiple times that the vehicle was at the location. When I arrived at the location an hour later, there was no pick-up truck. The representative at the location told me they hadn't had a pick-up truck at the location all day. She went on to tell me this happens all the time. The call center makes assurances without checking the availability at the location. It was infuriating.

Saturday morning pickup with a reservation took over one hour waiting in line. Most definitely needs more staffing to move the line of people along. Also, it would be helpful to have staff direct customers in line- there seemed to be a lot of confusion amongst all customers who where not sure if they needed to wait in the large line or not for their various needs.

I had to wait 25 minutes in line to get my rental with only one person working the register. After that, the guys you get the truck from we're not welcoming at all, one of them shooing me away like I know exactly where the truck was. No one told me the number on the key was on the truck and to match it up, I had to figure that out myself. When dropping it off, I told another guy in the garage I was dropping it off, and I put it in the same spot I picked it up from and he said “that's not a parking, you don't see the arrows?” And this was the same guy who I returned the car to. Very rude, unprofessional staff. My first and last time renting from this location.
