The drop off location had 1"- 2" of water all over the floor of the garage. The attendants at the drop off were not able to utilize computers on site; they were all down. They told us we would have to check in our cargo van return via our phone. After multiple attempts to do so, I asked them for help because I could not get the program to work for me. The attendant tried to get it to work on my phone. I am unsure if he was successful or not, but he said we were free to go. All of the staff we encountered were as helpful as they could be; but the computer system- at least on January 13th -was awful!

I have used this location many times but suddenly it has seemed to collapse. The location is clearly under construction and understaffed. Overwhelmed employees shooed me back to my truck to complete online checkout, gave conflicting direction as to parking, ridiculed me for being unable to use online checkout (camera feature wouldnt work), and advised unsafe driving maneuvers to attenpt to alleveate traffic and sidewalk congestion. Sharon Gonzalez literally saved the day and manually completed my checkout while simultaneously managing other customer issues and unqualified staffers around her. This was the last experience I needed at the end of 24 hours of loading traveling and unloading. Thank you to Sharon though. She soothed my near nervous breakdown.

I’m waiting for a call from a supervisor. The pickup location was flooded and water was pouring out of the ceiling! I got wet. The computers were down which made it worse! Then the truck I rented was trapped in a construction site, meaning I was unable to move it. A worker then had to drive it out of the site because I was not good by to reverse 50 feet down a busy sidewalk. Then the top of the truck cracked into a traffic light, while I was in the passenger seat. It was scary!!! In top of that I did not have my rental equipment and had to go ask someone to help get it, it was not provided! This was the worse Uhaul experience ever and I’m waiting on a call from a supervisor

While within your rights to charge for removing a few cardboard boxes, the lack of clarity about returning clean and empty made this $50 penalty fee unseemly given the circumstances and total absolute denial of customer service. A really bad and avoidable end to a remarkably bad and unforgettable day.

Advise the customer the approximate MPG of the vehicle they are using - recently thought we replaced sufficient gas only to be told with the heater going the vehicle only gets apprx 5 MPG. Your employees were very accomodating and should be commended.

The staff at the Chelsea location are spectacular. Kirk and the Sunday morning crew are top notch and so wonderful to work with. I come every Sunday to rent a 17 foot truck and they treat me with the upmost care and service and I am incredible grateful for that. That being said, the 17 foot local EL trucks in NYC (not just at the chelsea location but everywhere) are all pretty banged up. The one we drove yesterday was pretty hairy as far as safety is concerned. I don't think it has anything to do with the staff as much as it is the truck is just old and banged up. I was particularly aware of its difficulty driving because NY recently had the large snowfall and made driving a big truck just that much trickier. The truck we drove was EL 6612M with Arizona license plate AD 33851.

The van smelled like cigarettes, and when I called you to get store hours, I spoke to three different people and they all gave me very different times. I feel communication needs to be practiced at this location.

I had my pickup initially scheduled for Brooklyn at 12 while my boyfriend was there waiting they called me since I had done the reservation to inform me that the pick up location had changed to the location in Manhattan. So after driving all the way to Brooklyn he had to pay tolls and go to manhattan where come to find out no one there could install the trailer or do the hitch check for us so he had to drive back to Brooklyn get that done and drive back to manhattan to have the trailer picked up. All the money I spent on tolls because of U-Haul should be reimbursed and I had also purchased a night glow I was told I would need when I did the initial reservation which I never needed never picked up and the money has not been refunded into my account. No pleased to say the least.

You have me sign in on line to cut waiting time in half, I get there at 7:15pm for a 7:30pm pickup and have to queue and don't get my order until 7:45pm. It's amazing how quick it is when you drop back the veichle and they tell you how much you owe.

Perhaps you can specify more clearly the type of fuel the van needs. I needed to look it up online to be sure. Other than that, great service!

The guy who brought out our vehicle initially when we picked up was driving like a bat out of hell. He jumped on the gas and drive that truck out of the garage to street side like he was a movie stuntman. Someone could have been killed in all honesty. He was rude also but seems overwhelmed due to understaffing. However the gentleman upon return was courteous and professional.
