The location was good but the wait time for customer service over the phone was horrible! I tried several times to talk with someone for a simple question and the wait time varied from 25 to 45 minutes. Too long.William T.

Probably was not with the location but that I was mailed an empty box that should have contained my mattress cover which was said not to be at the Chelsea location. It wasâ€¦ so I paid for two + shipping for one despite asking for a refund for the product that did not arriveJulia M.

Night manager Allistair repeatedly cursed at me and my husband said I was negligent and yelled at us before I threatened to report him. I came to return a vehicle and get help after my vehicle needed roadside assistance . I felt threatened and will not do business with you again. He told me that customers always do this shit-exact words and said MF to me and other four letter words. I was not cursing at him until After his verbal tirade and threats to my husband I felt physically in danger and yelled at him back. This was after being provoked. There were two other employees present who may cover up for him but he knows and they know the ghetto behavior and bad business practices that is being set as an example are outrageous. Your 138 location also did not help me and no one asked me what happened or spoke to me or conversed with me about what happened yet took it upon themselves to call day manager Kent who filed this report and called me and falsely stated my husband caused the accident. No one ever asked me what happened and how. The insurance is now voided as a result of hearsay and I'm being charged over 800 dollars. No one called me the card was charged and I saw it this morning. This is not fair.I never was asked at any point what happened after sitting outside for over two hours and not offered water. I did not ask them to call the other location but they took it upon themselves and when I went to Chelsea to return the vehicle the woman who checked it in did not notice or report any damages it was only after I asked to speak to a manager to proactively sort out the information did allistair reluctantly agree to look at the vehicle, reprimand the employee who checked me in and then curse and blame me for being negligent. Not once taking a statement or asking what happened. Outrageous. Roadside assistance were the only professionalsCarmen D.

Had not rented from U-Haul in many years so did not have an expectation. I was impressed with the office staff (Kirk De'Abreu) who was very professional, helpful and friendly, and efficiently helped me through the â€œcheckoutâ€ process. The process for returning the van was a little less clear but once I found an associate to help (Allister McQuilkin) I was again very impressed with his friendly professionalism. Overall I was very happy with the experience and will definitely use the 23rd Street location again.TED W M.

I thought the check in was cryptic and for forced and I felt the gas charges were fake and inflated. I drove 12 miles and was charged 2 gallons. That means your van gets 6 miles to the gallon. Really?ted C.

Was given a u-haul truck on empty. 3 blocks away from the UHaul distribution center on 23rd the gas light came on. Especially in Manhattan, it's very inconvenient to have to find gas right away. They also left the back door open To the 10' truck, which I didn't realize when pulling the truck out. I found out when a policeman pulled me over for driving with the door open. The truck was empty, but overall was displeased with the whole experience.Isaac T.

Firstly- dont do false marketing. The company claims you can rent for 19.95/day. I ended up paying $160 for use of the 10 inch truck for 6 hours when all hidden costs included. Thats simply robbery and I will never use this service again. Secondly- please pit your staff in some kind of cultomer service training. They were generally rude and non helpful, Overall horrible experience. UHAUL never again!FRANCISCO F.

The woman at the counter was good, but when I went to ask one of the staff where you park the trucks to write the miles, I was ignored. I mean quite literally ignored. I said 'Excuse me, the woman inside asked if someone can check out my truck" - he completely ignored me and walked the other way.Theresa L.

The people working at the counter, whatever the young ladies name was who helped me was amazing. The gentleman in the loading dock for pick up and drop off. I was sent a text to drop off my rental at the Chelsea location which was different from my original reservation in Long Island city which I thought was weird to begin with and so I came to the Chelsea location to drop off based on the latest information I had. I arrived and the very rude staff told me that I would have to drive all the way to Long Island city which would take over an hour from Chelsea. After some arguing they begrudgingly accepted the rental. I got the receipt a few minutes later saying that I returned the gas tank half full which is completely false. I filled the tank to the appropriate 7/8ths level that I picked it up at. I was very disappointed in my uhaul experience having rented several times in the past.Brendan C.

I had a huge issue after I picked up the truck which delayed me 2 hours of my time. I tried calling the location no one picked up. Was on wait for an hour. The truck had a lock on the back door and they didn't give me the code.Christina D.
