I was given a truck that was 100% out of fuel. I had to go straight to a fuel station. I was told I would receive $50 if I brought it back with 1/4 tank. It was slightly under and I was charged an additional $25.86 as a fuel charge. Tried calling and no answer. The check engine light came on as soon as I drove off. The blinkers and driving lights did not work. All in all I am very disappointed in this transaction.Scott S.

Please provide receipts for items purchased. I purchased extra because I was told I could return unused items, but since the printer was down for receipts, when I tried to make a product return upon bringing the rental back it was refused. No email receipt was ever sent even tho I was told I'd get an email receipt.William M.

I young man put the trailer on and I got about 1.5 miles and then it came off the hitch and was on the ground so when I called the location I got routed to man office so I had to call my friends to come help me and they lifted it back on and tightened right.. I was told the fuel tank was full. The gage was just shy of the "F" line. When I drove 60 miles and filled the tank, it took 9 gallons!! And the gage was well above the "F" line. I ended up paying $15 more than I should have for fuel.James C.
Have employees who explain things to customers such as rentals are not day to day they are hour to hour. This way customers aren't charged for extra days because they didn't realize it had to be back by a certain time. Would be nice if the employees would put down their phones to actually perform their job duties. I will NEVER rent from Uhaul again after this experience.Mykea G.

When I got there for self check in, my truck was stuck between 2 other trucks. I had to go inside and they switched my truck to what she thought was the outside truck, but I had to go back in again as it was the one further tucked in. It was fine but just kind of irritating with what I had already been through to even get my U-Haul set in the first place.Virginia E.

Horrible experience. Everyone other than one gentleman I delt with was incredibly rude and judgmental. I will NEVER use U-Haul again, and will spread the word to all my friends and family that they shouldn't either. I spent hundreds of dollars to be treated like a dirty criminal. The new thing where they text you to document the condition of the vehicle did not work for us. We couldn't upload the picture of the dent in the front bumper or scratches on the side. If possible I'd like to speak to a customer rep about the experience. I booked our original 20' truck online two and a half weeks ago only to get a notification less than 24 hours before pickup that the location had changed to 10 miles further and almost 8 hours later into the day. I had no choice but to book a 10' truck at that different location 10 miles away because it was now the only one available at the original time slot I booked at. Why does U-Haul let you book something at a time and place that doesn't exist? Beyond annoyance this forced me to make two, 35 mile trips vs one, costing me additional mileage fees and way more in gas, not to mention my time on moving day. This is not the location where I was to drop trailer. As I said earlier. This was not the trailer I was rented to me. I dropped the trailer I rented from port orchard. Dropped off at Wenatchee location. Was sent off from port orchard u-haul with wrong trailer. Causing nothing but confusion. I was charged an extra day even though I returned my trailer a day early. I was originally scheduled for a different store, however, that store didn't have the truck or night drop off. That store called u-haul, and U-haul was able to get me a truck at this store. I was set back 2 hours and the movers I got through U-haul were still able to help. This store was helpful and got me into the truck I needed.JAMES T.

App would not work for "check in", kept looping back to log in screen no matter what I did. Staff was friendly and helpful, but also had some technology challenges that made getting the equipment take a bit longer. As a frequent renter, I'd love the option to use the app for booking, checking in and getting the trailer, hook it up myself, go, and return it, without having to step inside the location.Richard C.

Trailer was still filthy from previous rental, doesn't matter much for use but aesthetics weren't the best, service was meh. No real leadership in the manager and didn't tell exactly where to go just a general location on drop off. I think the manager here doesn't know what she is doing. I went 20 miles to pick it up and she says the chain is long so she can't rent it. I have work lined up for next day. If the trailers are not ready, you should not list them for renting, or have better people who know how to hook up the trailers.ROHAN L.

I made a reservation and specifically chose no insurance, when I picked up the vehicle the person added insurance without asking, and charged me for it without telling me. This is legally a bait and switch, I will be submitting a CC charge back for this.Joshua L.

You can try not lying to people and also not putting saving a few dollars on a tow truck over the customer's time. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with renting a truck. They cost us two days travel time and and around 200 dollars more in fuel because we went from a 15 foot truck to a 26 foot truck after the first truck broke down. It over 24 hours for them to get us back on the road. We were lucky no one was hurt as the main hydraulic line busted while we were driving through the mountains down 6 and 7% declines. When the mechanic showed up and told us there was nothing he could do we were forced to try to find a motel for the night, Everything was booked because of the Rodeo in Ellensburg. Fortunately the person working the front desk at the Econolodge had been listening to our conversations with roadside assistance and gave us the room they keep for emergencies otherwise we would have had to sleep in the truck. We were called that night at 11 pm and asked what time we wanted to do the truck exchange. We told them 10 am. We get a call the next day at 10 am and are told that they have a tow truck lined up but it would be 5 hours before they could get to us and then another 2-3 hours to the uhaul location we were being towed to. After asking them why it was going to take so long they made some more calls and were able to get bus a tow truck by noon. We then had to ride in the tow truck with no AC for 3 hours to a different location than what we were told. The truck driver told us that he had no tows the entire morning and that they had called him 3 times trying to get a cheaper price on the tow. We were suppose to go to Yakima but instead were towed to Richlan. Upon arriving at the Richlan location we were informed that the truck we were going to exchange into was not there and was still in Chelan over 2 hours away. The people at this location played phone tag with roadside assistance for about an hour then called the main office and told them they were going to give us a 26 foot truck so that we could get back on the road. Even the people working there said that Uhaul should refund my money after everything had been so poorly handled. Now that we were on our way again after being down over 24 hours, just 3 hours back on the road we run into a 150 mile I-84 closure that caused us to shut down again for the night which we could have been past and avoided had we not had the over 24 hour delay. So a second day lost. We left Washington state on Wednesday August 31st at around 3pm. We did not reach our destination in Texas until the following Sunday at around 3 pm. In all this truck rental cost me more than the 3800 dollar price tag which was 1100 more than the original estimate i got in the beginning of August. It cost me 2 days of travel 2 extra nights in motels and around 200 dollars more in fuel, not to mention the Sketchy mountain passes and goat trails we had to drive this 26 foot through to get around the wild fires we were trapped behind on I-84. This was without exception the worst truck rental experience I have ever had. I was told by customer service 4 days ago that a general Manager was going to call me within 3 days and guess what... that was a lie also as I never heard from the General Manager.christopher F.

I brought the truck back in impeccably clean condition. I only hauled a few 16' pieces of house trim. I completely swept it out, regardless of the fact that I didn't deposit any debris in it. It was as clean as that truck has been for a long while, and they decided they would hit me with a $25 cleaning fee. Absolute BS. There was nobody there to greet me when I returned the truck. There was a line of trucks waiting to be returned. There was nobody servicing/receiving the first truck in line. There was nobody there, I can only surmise that this is a scam perpetrated upon people like myself that go above and beyond to do their duty to return the trucks cleaner than they were rented.
