I have gone to the Spruce location in Riverside many times over the years and my experiences are almost always the same: long lines and inefficient services. They seem to always be understaffed and the process take way too long. I would go somewhere else but there is no other location close to my home. This needs to be fixed.

Because the person with me didn’t want to be used a a contact. He put me in I truck I did not want and my contacts had to answer the phone. First time ever. I rented from Penske for 20 years. That never happened. I’ll go anywhere else but your establishment. You guys were horrible.

I ordered a 29’ truck w/appliance dolly in Moreno Valley. Was told I had to go to spruce location for the 29’. Had to get an uber to take me to that location that was further away, THAT DID NOT even have the 29’ truck or the appliance dolly. You made me waste over $100 in fees and now I need another uhaul because I COULDNT fit everything into the 26’. Extremely unsatisfactory

There was only one guy running the counter and helping the customers hook up trailers etc. so there was a longer then average wait that was annoying seeing as i was just there to pick up a moving van that I reserved but the staff was very professional and courteous and I appreciated that.

The experience with the Riverside U-Haul was less than stellar. The boxes were late complicating the availability of help. However, everything about the Augusta Georgia U-Haul was absolutely amazing. They were responsive, returned my calls quickly, and provided solutions to problems that were consistent with how they resolve them. In addition, the driver who delivered the boxes and picked them up deserves a ten-star rating. She absolutely went above and beyond by making yourself available to explain the process and making sure that everything was handled properly. She was pleasant and upbeat and more than baby experience pleasurable her actions alone make me willing to use U-Haul again. The same could be said about the delivery driver in California. However, our interactions were not as extensive.

Location is good, quiet and easy to navigate. Truck wasn’t properly cleaned after previous use, it reeked of cigarettes and there was grease on the bed of the truck that i slipped on and hit my head on the corner of the truck. I’ve used this location several times and this is the first time I’ve experienced any issues.

Exceptional interaction about our trip needs... made many helpful suggestions. He had us call my auto insurance company to verify damage coverage. Turns out my premium policy at USAA only covers LIABILITY not DAMAGES. USAA's offer to cover it was laughable compared to the lower cost of U-Haul DAMAGE insurance. Traveled with peace of mind. 26' truck kicked butt! It was fully loaded with possessions, oak furniture, piano and my video edit room gear. OK, so I paid dearly for gas (1200 miles to Idaho panhandle from Riverside, CA). We had to stop at Mammoth Lakes to deliver & pick-up divorce settlement possessions. That truck just drove up the Bishop Grade on 395N (5K feet to 7400 feet altitude) like a champ! A few issues... rt rear back up white light not working, spray windshield wash fluid was full but dribbled out at wipers, one dash cooling vent was flopping loose. The price was high but the results of trustworthiness, flexibility of load changes, comfort in the cab, and finding courteous truck drivers all over the west made our truck part of the trip very pleasant. What a beautiful country we live in! (Also, a small tip; Find out if your gas/credit card maxes out at $175 per fill-up. I still need to find out if it's my card (with 4% off gas bonus!) or the gas pumps/stations were responsible for this.)

When I arrived, a unit had not yet been assigned to me. I was assigned a unit by staff. When we went to the unit so I could see it and put items inside, there was still a lock on the unit from another customer. The staff informed me that they would work on getting the lock removed. I told them that I could wait a bit to put the items that I had in my car with me into the unit. However, I would need access to the unit within a few hours, when my hired movers would be coming to unload a truck full of furniture into the unit. When I came back a few hours later with the movers and truck, the staff let me know that the customer's lock had been removed and that I could access the unit. When I went to the unit and opened the door, it was already full of furniture/belongings. The staff clearly had not ensured that the unit was emptied and cleaned after removing the lock. I think had to wait approximately 30 minutes (while I was paying the movers to sit and wait, also) for the staff to try and find a temporary solution. I was eventually offered 2 U-Boxes instead. While I made do for the moment, as I was paying the movers all this wait time, U-Boxes are not what I need and I was not offered a long term solution. I will need constant, short-notice access to my storage unit, not U-Boxes where I would need to call ahead every time I need access. Additionally, when I went to leave the facility and finish my move, I could not exit the parking lot with the truck because there were so many other trucks backed up parked and blocking the exit driveway. Again, I had to waste time waiting for staff to move trucks and create a passable driving route, all the while again paying my movers to have to wait, as well. The facility was extremely understaffed all day. The two men working were working hard, but clearly needed more support. Extremely disappointed overall.

The uhaul corporate office booked a storage unit but the Spruce office had no record of my reservation. It was very stressful but they were able help me nonetheless. Also, there seemed to be only one person available to help me and there were a lot of customers there so it took way longer than it should have.

I was given a broken storage unit that was only able to close using the uhaul side to lock. I was unable to use the lever to pull the unit open and was not easily accessible. When I did pick up my belongings - most of my things had mice feces. I only used the storage for 4 weeks and was very unhappy with service and most times a U-Haul truck or trailer was in front of my unit making it unavailable most visits. I don’t believe I will reccomend or use U-Haul services again.

Honestly the staff couldn’t have been nicer & the manager Ed is wonderful. He painstakingly worked on releasing my car from the car towing device longer than he should’ve had to, as the chain didn’t have much slack. He is clearly dedicated to his position there at U-Haul = pleasant, courteous & professional. As he was walking in front of me to unlock the U-Haul lock off my storage unit…I noticed Ed reaching down and pulling out a weed. I was impressed. Thank you for everything.
