The guy who checked me in and out was very very slow and he was very rude. He charged me for smoking even though the manager or assistant manager said he doesn't smell any smoke in the truck.

2 hours of grace time for return. Always fill trucks with fuel before renting so customer can just fill up and not has to figure how much fuel.

The trailer we reserved ahead of time was not available. We reserved it for 8:00 in the morning. There were 2 trailers there but both had flat tires. We could pick one up at another U-Haul, but the location was almost an hour away. The guy at the Salem location was very apologetic, and I know it wasn't his fault. But we won't be using this location again.

I was in and out in six minutes. I drive past the Salem Silverton store to get here, since I've had three bad experiences there. The 12th street location has been good for me, including having supplies that I purchased online ready for me before I got there. Thank you!

Make sure the truck is within a 10 mile radius of where they originally reserve the truck if reserved two weeks or more in advance.

U-Haul at this place does not want people parking in their lot, just on street. BUT, it is not marked well. They need to put up at least 4 signs ( temporary type that can be carried into the store after work & put out in morning). That only takes minutes. My son in law came to help me & whoever the U-haul worker was; he was "downright rude" to him. That is not acceptable, is discourteous, and unprofessional. Fix this one problem (where we should park) so people know what to do. Sign could say: Please park on street. Lot is only for U-Haul Vans & Trailers. (Something like that) . The people inside are knowledgeable & nice. Thanks.

have uhaul agent assist with adjustment of mirrors on trucks that do not have automatic mirror adjustment and verify that driver is able to make any necessary seat/other adjustments.

Great customer service, seemed under staffed and over worked. The amount of turn-ins and rentals were making it difficult for them to keep up it seemed. Too high volume of a center for 2 staff members on a Sunday. But the guys that were there were putting in work and it showed.

the rental and return process was amazing. The truck itself needs just a little TLC. Wiper blades replaced. Passenger door mirror loose and would vibrate out of position while driving.

We were scheduled for a 1-way trip, from Jefferson to Beaver, OR. Someone from U-Haul called me and requested that we return the truck to Salem. She told me we would be given an extra day, so we didn't have to come back to Salem until Sunday - and that we would be given a 40% refund. We were only slated for an $83 refund, but out of that we were charged for the extra miles to bring the truck back to Salem. We were only given a $53 refund. I don't think it is the guy's fault at the Salem location, but clearly what the lady on the phone told me isn't what happened. :(

Shorten the wait for pick-up and drop-off. The wait wasn't excessive, but folk that need a truck for moving are generally on a short schedule.

I reserved a pick-up for for use on 9/28 which they did not have. I also reserved a 10' truck and trailer for pickup on 9/30. I had to take the 10' truck on the 28th and was going to pickup the transport late on 9/29. They did not have one. I had to drive a 3 hour round trip at 7:00 a.m. to Milwaukee Oregon to pick up the trailer/transport which delayed my trip by a day. I requested a discount and was told a customer incident was created.

Explain the expectation for filling up with gas. My understanding was I only needed to fill the gas up to 3/4 full. The gas tank was nearly full when I picked up my uHaul and I didn't use enough gas to get below 3/4 full, but upon delivery, I still had to pay a fee for gas because the gas wasn't at the same spot as when I first picked up the truck.

I rented a pick-up at the location I went to and the truck I got was a brand new truck. Who would have thought that uhaul would have near brand spanking new. Well done. I will recommend this location to all the people I know. This location does not come without excellent customer service as well. Very pleased.

The trailer smelled like dead fish. But we had no way of knowing until we arrived at our location to begin our move. The employee did discount our rental by $10 when we returned. He agrees, very fishy smell inside the trailer.

Very impressed with the customer service at this location. On my first visit, Travis and Isaac were extremely helpful and patient. Even though I - unknowingly, at the time - arrived 30 minutes prior to closing time, they still treated me likey they weren't in any hurry to leave. After discovering that my car didn't have the wiring installed for a cargo trailer, they were very understanding, patient, and chill (even though I practically wasted their time). The next day, I came back for a cargo van rental and Jacob was just as easy-going and accommodating. When I returned the cargo van, Travis was there and still just as kind and cool as the night before. Additionally, I appreciated that they were all wearing masks. Overall, all three gentlemen were kind, helpful, patient, and cool. Plus, their taste in music is spot on.

Maintenance was good, just a lot of dust and ash inside and dog hair all over the passenger seat . However, we have always had an excellent experience in the past at this location. Great people and always very helpful.

The trailer we rented smelled horrible (my spouse says like dead fish) it was also clearly dirty inside. Luckily we were just moving a table so weren't worried about the smell absorbing into it. If we had been moving a couch, we would have returned it and wanted a refund or a different trailer. We've rented from there before with no problems but if that had been our first experience we would be finding somewhere else to go.

Gas gauge did not work properly. It said 1/4 tank on the lot then went to below empty when we drove off. Barely made it to gas station but did call the location. When we returned to the lot, they tried to argue with us but the gas receipt had a time stamp.

When I returned the truck, I was told that the computer was non-operational and they could not finalize the account until it was back in service. To subtract the pre-rent mileage from the returned mileage is basic 4th grade math. Multiply that number by the price per mile is also 4th grade math. There were no other renters or returners in the store. Even my telephone computer could have given the needed information.
