Had an issue with the 24 hr. pick-up option. Fortunately I was picking up during business hours. I couldn't get past the portion where you add two additional contacts because I was unaware they actually call the individual and require them to pick up the phone. The entire truck was reprehensibly filthy. The steering wheel was gross to the touch. Visible grime in the center stack trey. We spent at least 20 minutes scrubbing the interior down ourselves and the paper towels were totally black afterwards. The back of the truck had clearly not been cleaned, given there was multiple small waste items left from the previous renter. The layout of the parking lot is poor too. At one point someone was trying to attach a trailer to their truck and was having difficulties. We had to wait at least 10 minutes before the attendant told the guy to move. Having said all of that, the attendant was friendly and helpful.Matthew B.

The staff was great to work with. I appreciated their help hooking up, and unhooking. The only problem was the trailer I had reserved was not available. I had to go down a size, but we made it work. I hope you can find a way to have a more accurate reservation system.JAYNE W.

Online truck share did not work. Had to wait 10 minutes after appt to even get into the building because the crew working was moving vehicles dropped off after hours. 6 people in line to wait for them. The person who helped me had trouble finding my reservation because it was technically thru another location in town but Friday I was told by a representative that if I wanted a truck I would have to drive 5 miles out of my way to get it. Then when I dropped truck off they said I was 20 miles over my estimated mileage allotment- I wonder where some of those miles came from?? Overall poor.THOMAS M.

I had picked up the truck and it died on me at a stop light literally down the street from the location. I went back to the store and nicely told them about the situation and all they did was tell me to call or go online to put in a roadside assistance, I had asked if it was checked for battery ect since it literally died down the street they said it was suppose to be checked. I was on hold for over an hour, the website was horrible and kept lagging but I eventually put in an order. I waited for another hour and nothing, I went back in to ask for help and was very upset by this time. Mind you I am in the middle of moving and the truck died at a stop light and was holding up traffic! They finally gave me a new truck and I had asked to speak to a manager but none was there. I advised them it was stuck at a stop light and asked what I should do they didn't really say anything. After we left with the new truck saw a cop behind the old truck and he advised he was going to get it towed due to it blocking traffic. We called the store to advise them and made sure we are not going to get charged for any of the issues with the prior truck due to it not being our fault. He assured us and said no responsibility is on us. Then I get a call about 4 hours later about the road side assistance and my parents told them it was towed ect. This whole experience was the worst I will never rent a Uhaul again or recommend anyone at this location. I understand things happen but how they handled the situation was not acceptable.JOSEPHINE L.

I was originally scheduled to pickup at the Hickman Road location and did the online check-in ahead of time and when I arrived with my confirmation # in hand they said they didn't have any record of it and had no trailers and directed me to the Urbandale location. This was a huge inconvenience because I had to drive 12 miles when the Hickman location was 1.5 miles from my house and to top things off I had to return back to Hickman. I don't understand if i did the online check-in and got confirmation that they didn't have my trailer at the Hickman location. I will be very leery of renting again from U-Haul I feel I should not have paid for it.HOWARD S.

I requested a 24 hour rental. The day before my move they cut it down to 12 hours. I requested a dolly and they didn't have one fore me. They told me it wold be like 60 bucks. It was almost 3 times that. This is a terrible company that lies and doesn't know how to run a business. 0/10 terribleRYAN M.
Check the seat belts. My last rental the drivers side was damaged 1/3 the way through and the other was 7/8 the way cut. My buddy had to drive the vehicle we planned to leave at the rental place.Todd C.
I had made a reservation for two dollies, appliance and utility, and either were available. Desk staff didn't seem overly concerned about a significant shortfall in the order. They suggested that other U-Haul stores might have one. I had to ask them if they would give 63rd Street U-Haul a call, so they reached out for me, and reserved one. The truck needs some engine work, it was running rough all day, but was neat and ready for use. Then when I drove over to the 63rd Street store to pick up the appliance dolly, the POP credit card machines stopped working, spent nearly an hour checking out the needed equipment as they attempted 6 or 7 times to process my credit card. I offered to pay cash for the $10.70 rental of a dolly and said they would need $60.00 cash deposit for the cash rental. I walked out without a dolly for the day. These store managers need to spend some additional time training staff working the front desk in customer service, or better yet, granting them the authority to solve problems for the customer to make for a truly great customer experience on a day full of stress (moving day).BRIAN T.
