The associate that processed my trailer rental didn’t know how to connect the chains from the trailer to my truck. He called his manager and the manger could not figure it out either. The manager proceed to tell me he could not rent me the trailer because he could not safely connect the chains to my truck. I explained to him that I rent motorcycle trailers frequently from your Pico Rivera location and he suggested I go to them and rent my trailer. His tone was rude. I recommended pulling up my account and viewing the pics from all the trailer rentals I’ve made at the Pico Rivera location. He agreed and saw that it was possible to safely attach the trailer chains to my truck. We went back outside and I assisted him with the trailer chain install. My issue is he didn’t know how or didn’t want to go through the effort of attaching the chains to my truck. He actually told me to go buy some chains to attach to my hitch and come back. Seemed a bit incompetent. In the end I was glad that I was able to educate him on how to attach the trailer chains to the style of hitch I have on my Chevy 2500HD diesel truck.
DAVID DDrop off was super easy and the attendant had us in and out within minutes.
SANDRA MI dropped off the unit a day early and was charged for 5 extra days. I asked the gentleman if he was going to give me something confirming I dropped it and. He shrugged it off saying I’d get an email. This is ridiculous. I need a refund for the overcharge asap.
Richard RNothing about my experience with U-Haul has been pleasant, except for the actual employees at the location. First, I was on hold for 45 minutes, then when I made my reservation, I was given conflicting details for example: had a reservation set for 915, but the woman said that U-Haul will contact me at 10 AM to tell me where to pick up The trailer I rented. Therefore, I waited until 10, when my trailer was waiting for me the whole time at 9:15. Very confusing. Then, it took them 30 minutes to get my trailer unhitched when I returned, also the return process was confusing. The person on the phone couldn't tell me if I could do an after hour drop off. Besides the people in the location, worst customer service ever. Also, I bought the wrong hitch for my car, and they won't let me replace it or return it, even though it hasn't been used

PEDRO RI can not express ENOUGH how AMAZING this location was, everyone I worked with was just the nicest most helpful people. From the attendant we set up the original reservation with in store, to the technician out side who walked us around different trucks and sizes and answered all our questions, to the super nice gentleman who checked out the truck, who was patient and very efficient. Everyone was absolutely brilliant. They helped make what was going to be a super stressful day just so so much better. The store was clean organized a well stocked, the truck was super clean and drove like a dream despite its massive size. I would highly recommend any one renting a uhaul to use this location. Clean, efficient, fast and reliable.

SOPHIA CTruck is dirty all over, crew have sweep the deck just before i drove the truck, but the driver cabin is very dirty.Broken sun blind, hinders my driving. It would help to include ramp on the smallest truck, because not all movers are men, you should consider women moving on their own w/o help.

KEVIN WThe location did not have the vehicle I requested. Then they gave me a 10ft moving truck that had damage all over the exterior. The driver side door barely shut. The fuel gauge did not work and only read empty despite me filling the vehicle with gas and the tire pressure sensor light kept chiming. Absolutely terrible experience.

What a poor running business. And I spend a lot of money. But next time I need a truck and trailer I will NEVER use Uhaul again. I’ll go to budget or another truck rental company. It’s ridiculous

GUADALUPE Zthe van was SO dirty outside and inside. Lots of plant debris and dirt in the back and the overall exterior was very dirty too. Van still worked but surprised at the cleanliness

I ordered a rope online and asked her about it, and she quickly said, “Nope, not here in my system,” without really checking. Another employee had to step in and confirm, and then they finally saw it in the online orders.

MANUEL HThe people working u-haul at 7610 Van Nuys are liars and thieves. They overcharged me 27 miles (33 total) for a pick-up rental that I had for 1 HOUR. I drove exactly 5.1 miles. There’s nowhere in LA I can drive within an hour that’ll rack up 33 miles. I went back to the store to get the charges fixed and the guy had a smirk on his face, didn’t even check to see if he had made a error, and said “I put the exact mileage in”. He knew exactly what he was doing, and intentionally stole my money.

TED FIt took me 3 trips to 3 different location to rent the vehicle. The firs one did not have it available even though the app said it did. The second one had no one attending (out for lunch sign at 10:45 AM). Finally the Van Nuys one had it, but the trucks had NO GAS in them because it had been stolen overnight. The truck rattled and brakes were low. At least they gave me credit for the gas which I appreciate it. But will think it twice before renting with u-Haul again.

SALVADOR SI didn’t catch the guys name, younger skinny guy with an accent tried to square up with my friend and I after I suggested the gas was lower in the truck than indicated on the paper before I even took off. The guy told me “he works there, he knows better than me” and that they gave me more gas? I told him, the paper says there’s 7/8s a tank left, when I sit in the van it shows 3/4s full, I don’t want to get over charged on gas. The guy got majorly aggressive even threatening my life if I didn’t shut up. Until I started shouting back, he didn’t back away, several other employees broke up the confrontation, it was embarrassing and ridiculous to say the least. I will never rent from this location again.
COLIN GI had a really disappointing experience at this U-Haul location. The worker at the front desk who checked me in asked every man in line ahead of me if they wanted insurance, but when it was my turn, he added it automatically without asking. When I questioned why he didn’t ask me the same, he got defensive and seemed irritated for the rest of the interaction. I don’t know his name since he wasn’t wearing a name tag, but he had glasses and green eyes. After leaving, I had to return immediately because all the tires were extremely low and the tire sensors weren’t working. Even after that, I had to keep stopping along the way to refill the tires, which was a huge inconvenience and made my trip much longer than it should’ve been. When I asked how they could rent out a vehicle in that condition, the same staff member got annoyed and said, “If you want to cancel your reservation, we can do that.” The only positive part of the experience was Ben, who helped me when I returned the vehicle — he was kind, professional, and informative. Other than that, I will not be renting from this location again.
