I turned my rental truck at the self drop-off prior to my return time. The U-Haul app on my phone would not accept my photo download, so I had to call the customer service department to report the drop-off over the phone. I now discovered that I was charged for an additional day.

FAZEL KThe drop off was in Lake Forest CA not Sacramento. The Service in Lake Forest was excellent. The service from the national call center and scheduling center was rude. They never informed us that the initial pick up location on L street did not have our trailer and so we had to drive 40 minutes away to Sacramento to receive a trailer. To that, I would likely not recommended U Haul in the future because the people in their National Service and Reservation Center are unaware of how last minute changes even a day after confirmation place additional pressure on customers.
Cedric CRented a $19.99 van traveling 60 miles for ONE day. 8:30 am to 6:30pm. I was charged $167 plus $1.09 milage fee. You do the math. Does that even sound right? Not the exact math but it was outrageous. Talked to customer service and got a promissory note to straighten things out with a manager the next morning. WHY would it be that expensive when the lady CLEARLY stated it's $19.99 plus $1.09 a mile($64) before I left.

Aaron BAs a business owner, when I pick up a pice of equipment I expect it to be ready to go. Being delivered a vehicle with 1/4 tank of gas is an inconvenience that I find unacceptable. Other than that, the experience was fine and I returned the truck with nearly a half a tank of fuel so the next user can actually do something before have to get fuel.

And when they finally got around to me, they told me they didn't have the vehicle I had reserved ,even though I had booked it on a Sunday and it was already Friday What the hell? Suddenly, a truck pulled up, and they went over to check it out, implying they were going to clean it up for me. They didn't; the back was full of clothes and a huge chunk of concrete. Such poor, atrocious service. I was stuck there for nearly 40 minutes it was unbelievable.

Julie DTank was marker FULL when it wasn't FULL! it was close to 3/4 - I had to fill 11gallons for 90 miles - all flat highway driving. There was no way for me to fix this. I ended up paying more for the rental THAN needed! this is not good cutoemr service -disappointed

RANDOLPH DOver and over again the team at the West Sacramento U-Haul exceeds my expectations. Efficient check in and check out, friendly staff and good equipment. This isn't he closest U-Haul to me but it is my go to location.

shaun rjust about every 6x12 trailer here with the automatic brake system has severe issues in which it should NOT be on the road. When braking, the trailer continuously hits up against my truck HARD. In an emergency brake situation, im not sure this would brake in time. I've brought it up to management multiple times as my last 5-6 rentals over last month have had this issue but seems they dont care to fix. Even worse, I am still being charged full price for a faulty trailer and they will continue to rent it out even after i bring up the issue

Scott HI appreciate Patrick, who was working by himself and installed my hitch, as he waited for another employee to arrive (apparently, the GM was supposed to be there before my arrival. Kudo's to Patrick for getting me out in a timely basis.
Barry HI drove 7 miles only. Filed up 1 gallon, just to find out I wa charged $15 for 2 gallons. I drove 7 miles only, how can I be charged for 2 gallons of gas, and that after I added a gallon.

STEPHEN MI rented several times at this location and usually have a good experience. This time the 1410 truck I rent was horrible. It is the worst rental I’ve had with uhaul. The transmission sounded like it would fall out at any point. I was told the high idle shifting was normal. Later in the day I decided I should exchange trucks because it was too loud and terrible on gas.I was told I could, but would need to rent the other truck under a new contract. In other words pay again. My suggestion is to put a new transmission in 1410. OR warn renters the transmission condition and fuel economy. Or get rid of it all together! It’s awful!!!!

PHILLIP SThis location was great and so was the staff. I will say that Alan who checked me out was really nice and super efficient. However, I had a bad U-Haul experience as I needed a trailer in San Rafael an I was give a location instead that was an hour farther away. So it added 4 extra hours to my travel time to get the trailer I needed. Very unfortunate

ERNEST FThe wait on both check out and return was unnecessary. There was no one else checking in when we got there and it still took more than 15 minutes to get keys and go. The owner was in speaker phone doing insurance business the whole time. We weren’t given all the information needs about check out and missed the photo submission request. When we returned, there were 2 guys in check in but neither of them even spoke to me yo say they’d be over in a minute. I was there for 15 minute before the 2 minute check out was done.
CATHLEEN FFirst of all, they don’t offer digital check in but it doesn’t say that anywhere. The website allowed me to digitally check in but still ended up standing in line for 25 minutes. Employee at desk had no customer service skills. Never acknowledged anyone coming in, wore a hoodie over is head, and had no motivation to get anything done. When I finally got the keys to my truck, he tells me he has no ideal where it’s at. The contract has truck at 1/4 of a tank but really at 1/8. Upon starting the truck, there’s a tire service code lit up. Place was just super unprofessional but that seems to be the norm everywhere in CA these days. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone.
Joseph AThey are always understaffed. Long wait times because employees are constantly interrupted. I rented a truck and the tire low air light was on so I had to go to Midas and get it aired up. The truck only had 7/10 gas. So when refilling the customer either benefits the company by giving more than they used or underfilling and getting nailed by their filling fee just to get the gauge to that weird place. Fill it up each time. That way users can too. Also seat wasn’t adjustable and drivers side mirror couldn’t be adjusted. It’s just unpleasant every time I have to deal with uhaul. And it not employees. It’s the company.
