There was not a delay in the u-haul box delivery but a delay in having it ready. According to the â€œcomputer systemâ€ I was due to pick it up 6/22 but I had confirmed with on-site staff the week before that I would be there 6/21, since my box arrived to I-haul on 6/17. The u-haul staff never updated her location which caused all the confusion, delay, & tremendous stress. Alfredo & Rodrigo in management helped to resolve the confusion and fix the problem. It appears the lack of communication from 1-staff member caused the issue. Maybe U-haul could update the computer program to allow staff to communicate better.Lissette G.

Employees are unprofessional and rude. I will not go back to this location again. Employees were talking about getting drunk and having hangovers to stealing from the company because his till was $11 over. The lady didn't even suggest me bringing the uhaul truck back to the same location for the same rate and instead I payed 200 dollars when it should of been only 50 bucks. She should be fired, she was super rude and unprofessional. She was the one that checked me in.Vasily J.

I encounted a problem with the starting mileage being off by 200 miles that couldn't be fixed with the link. At my request, the team went off the grid to get me on the road quuck and solve the problem when I got back.KELLY C.
The service was fine, but the truck was dangerous! It has a badly worn front end and lots of slop in the steering. It was difficult to keep in my lane. As I started the climb over Mt Hood, the battery warning light came on and the voltage dropped progressively lower. I decided to turn back to Gresham rather than risk breaking down on the mountain. It died on the way back and I was forced to the side of the road. I'm fairly mechanical and had a toolkit and was able to isolate the problem to a loose battery cable. After tightening the cables, it fired up and ran fine for the remainder the trip, although I wrestled with the steering the whole time!David K.
My only complaint is that when I asked about dropping off after hours it was not at all mentioned a extra $20 fee. In that I was very disappointed.SARAH C.

Your online reservation system did not work. So I called the number and the customer service agent did not know what to do. I was put to on hold then cut off. I called back and had to wait 20 minutes on hold for another agent. The service at the location was fine but your online experience sucks. Also my account needs updated information but when I edited my phone numbers , the updates were not updated in the system. I tried logging off and then back in but nothing had changed. The whole process took 50 minutes which is way too long to make a simple reservation. I did reserve vehicle for 24 hours however; was told I would have to return it sooner. Didn't understand if I had reserved for a full 24 hours? I'm sure this is normal so U-haul can rent out vehicle faster and make more money. I returned vehicle same day instead of keeping for the 24 hours I needed.. I made a reservation at one location, was sent to another, and finally got the trailer at a third. Returned the next day and I asked the young man who directed me where to park it and unhooked it if I needed paperwork or a receipt. He said no, that it was all done. I left and got a call that I was being charged another day. I sat on the phone for 30 minutes waiting to talk with someone at this location and finally drove in to take care of this. The trailer was still sitting in their lot where I left it. They said the phones were being forwarded but didn't know why, and then while we were talking the phone rang right at the desk of the person who said that. Then they wanted my card again to rerun it, as though wanting to charge me again. The whole experience was unacceptable. The trailer was good, but I could get a similar good trailer at another place without this hassle. Uhaul used to be a reputable company.PHILLIP A.
I believe the gentlemen who helped me was named Will? Not 100% sure, but he really took care of me. I waited in line for only a minute until he started to help me while helping another customer (he was the only person at the counter), and I appreciated him considering my time. He was very friendly and conversational while walking me through the questions for check-in, also making sure I had everything I need, and he helped me back out the truck when leaving. To casual and not the crisp and attentive to customer. Dropped off stood there over 15 minutes to turn in unit. Whe looking it seemed more important to move vehicles than deal with the customer standing there. I am 75 and a disabled vet. Could not stand any longer. UHaul was excellent to work with. No trucks were available when I went to rent one out but I was added to a call list to be called if a truck became available in the local area. I received a call within an hour and was able to rent a truck immediately. I only learned about the storage option at that time and that was such a convenience because we needed storage for the itmes that I was renting the truck to pick up. The location is convenient from all directions in Vancouver. The storage option is an added plus. The parking lot where the truck or personal car can be parked while doing a move is only available at this location (that I am aware of). The service is very good and friendly. U-Haul is a broken system and takes advantage of customers by not fixing a broken computer system that is down as much as it is up. They charge fees because their computers systems fail thus they feel they are entitled to keep them. So far I have not been very impressed by this company. I made a reservation for a storage unit almost a month in advance. On moving day when I went in to get my unit number they had no reservation on file and then told me that they were fully booked. After some searching they ended up finding me a unit but it was very stressful having a 20ft Uhaul in the parking lot and wondering if I have a unit to store my belongings in. Then a few days after I moved everything in they called because apparently there is a bolt missing from the lock mechanism of my unit so now I have to make time to go back down there so they can repair that. I made an appointment but then received a call to see if it can be done sooner but any time I call the facility I am on hold for a long period of time. My suggestion is once a unit is empty make sure nothing needs to be repaired before moving another tenant in there as to not inconvenience them!!BRITTANY MICHELL P. | First Impressions

Hugh was very patient and professional. I definitely appreciate his demeanor considering my stressed out and completely exhausted mental state. Moving from state to state is hard work. I was short on sleep and short on patience which isn’t normal for me so my capacity to think clearly wasn’t real great. Fortunately Hugh was in charge so things went as smoothly as they could have. The only thing worse than having to conduct business in my current condition was hearing that when I walked out of the U-Haul facility to get fresh air, my step son said Missy said, I was a sore thumb. My frustrations were valid and although I expressed them, I don’t believe I was abusive or blaming to anyone in the process. Missy would do well learning to keep her personal opinion to herself and focus on customer satisfaction. I’ve always used U-Haul for moving and have never had a horrible experience; and, even though the truck got a flat tire and my storage wasn’t secured online like I had thought, the worst part was hearing I was insulted behind my back but in front of one of my children. With that being mentioned I just want to note, “Thank you for your tolerance Hugh! I can totally see why they leave you in charge” and “F#€k off Missy! After renting storage facility for over 10 years. I was sadden to see that when I went to empty my storage room, my key no longer opened my lock. when i had the locked drilled, which I paid $50 to have done, when I opened the storage door my space had been ransacked, my Texaco collectibles where stolen, my grandsons electric train set had been stolen. This was heartbroken, that I had paid every month for my items to securely stored. They have cameras all over the facility which leads me to believe that this was your personnel that broke into my storage unit and stole my items, and replaced the lock, hoping that no one would find out. my overall experience with Uhaul was fine, until I arrived at vancouver to return the truck and get to the storage unit I had reserved. Upon my arrival, I was greeted, by a rude youg woman who was sitting behind the desk on a cell phone, who told me to go and wail by the truck and someone would be with me. After standing around for at least a hlf hour, I finally flagged down a young man who then told me I had to go inside and check in with the same woman who told me to wait outside with the truck. Mind you, I had 4 men waiting to unload the truck. By the time I arrived at the front desk, this same woman looked at my drivers license and decided the photo didn't look like me (12 year old driver's license photo, but apparently, this woman could not see the resemblance., so she asked another female coworker to have a look, as the line behind me kept getting longer. The two "Professionals" decided I should show more ID, which I did. I was not only exhausted , but by this time, I had wasted almost an hour with these people, and my crew wanted to get started unloading. Finally, another young man took over and helped us out, but by that time, I was a nervous wreck. At 70 years old, and disabled, moving under the best of conditions is difficult. By the time I left, I was in tears. No. I will not recommend the store on Andresen to anyone. I never complain like this but someone should know about the rude woman I had to deal with. It would be nice to not have to put you pass code on two keypads in order for the door to the storage to open. I haven't experienced something like that with other storages. Also, the bay doors are closed and requires an employee to open it. Took a long time to just get paperwork done because the guy at the desk continuously was answering the phone. He then put down on paperwork and a map that I was in unit 29. I tried to pull up to the unit and got blocked by an other employee in a uhaul truck. He then got out of the truck and walked back behind the truck and did something then after 5 min got back in the truck and backed up so I could squeeze by. After then backing up to unit 29 and sitting their waiting for someone to come take the uhaul lock off so I could load some stuff in to the unit, I then had to walk all the way back to the front to get someone to come back and try and unlock the unit. Then a guy came back and none of his keeys worked to unlock the lock. He left and came back 4-5 min later and said, “oh well my mani her said your in unit 34.” By this time I was very irritated. All my paperwork says unit 29. And the guy said, “well 34 doesn’t have a lock on it.” So then I had to close up my storage pod and load up the lift gate and everything so that I could wiggle my truck around all the uhaul trucks and get the pod moved to a place that I could unload it in to the storage locker. Then I went to get the uhaul 17 ft truck that they told me I had to do all the walk around and everything from a text link. Went to open the text link and it didn’t work anymore. By this time I just wanted to get out of their and get the rest of my stuff done. So I just took a bunch of pics with my phone and left. Driving that van was very difficult. The steering was so loose i had to turn the wheel 120 degrees to get it to go left and then 120 the other direction to make it go right. The brakes were horrible I had to really push them down 3/4 of the way to the floor to even start to get a little brake pressure. I didn’t even dare to get close to 55 on the hwy or 35 on the service streets because Of how scratchy the brakes and steering was. I told the lady when I returned the truck how bad it was but she was done checking it in and processing the payment before I was even done talking about how it drove.Todd F. | First Impressions
