upon arrival, this location did not have my reservation that i was told online it was confirmed at this location. one hour into our out of state location, the engine started losing power. the centralia location did a diagnostic and told me the air filter was bad. they put it back in and gave me a number for roadside assistance, they did not have a new air filter. i bought a new one at a parts store. it rained during the whole trip and the attic area of the 15 ft. truck leaked water. many of our boxes were wet.

This was my first time renting a U-Haul, and I had a frustrating experience with the fuel policy. The truck was not provided with a full tank, which made it difficult to accurately match the required fuel level upon return.
Unfortunately, I ended up accidentally filling the tank to full, resulting in extra cost with no reimbursement. I actually spent more on gas than the U-Haul rental itself. I also asked if there was any possibility of a small courtesy credit or adjustment for the extra fuel I added, but my request was declined.I hope it would be possible to reconsider my request for a small courtesy credit or adjustment.
I understand the policy, but I strongly suggest providing clearer instructions for first-time renters or better guidance on how to estimate the correct amount of fuel. This would help customers avoid unnecessary expenses and confusion.
Overall, the rental process was okay, but the fuel system could definitely be improved to be more user-friendly.

The girl that helped me at the desk had zero customer service skills and seemed to hate her job. The van was wet inside like it had just been hosed out and smelt lime someone spilt a very pungent sauce in it. But other than that the van was a very good size and well maintained

The employee over there is really something else. She got mad at me for no reason and claimed that I was rude. This was probably caused when she kept asking me the same question about what car I would tow the trailer with. After repeating the same info for 3 times, I thought my accent was bad so I gave her the sign of 4 fingers since my car is a 4Runner. And all of sudden she got pissed off. She also doesn't show any intention of wanting to be there or want to answer my questions. She then refused to give me her name. I finally got her name from her co-worker. Her name is CC. I'm pretty sure there is a camera in the office. You definitely can review the footage. I don't think she is capable of helping any customer.

Without a doubt, the two nicest, most courteous, thoughtful individuals I've ever come across, probably in any service-related capacity. The young lady checking me in was friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable. She made a suggestion that I ended up using and am grateful for, as it would've cost me time and/or money. The young gentleman who checked me in was also very friendly and called me by name when I came in even though we had only a brief conversation when I picked up my truck. Just a pleasure to deal with, especially after running around and moving all day. A nice way to end a long day.
The truck itself was fine and served us well, but the real stars of this show were the two fantastic employees. Please take care of these two, they are your biggest resource!!

I didn't get the young man's name who helped me on Thu March 26, but he was very quick, polite, helpful...and he seemed to be running the place alone; I didn't see anyone else. Other customers were there too and we were all helped promptly and in a friendly way. No complaints of any. kind. I've rented here several times in the past and have never had one bad experience.

They made me pick up the uhaul rental at a different location then ended up charging me more for milage because that location was further away from where I was moving. On top of that the uhaul had 1/4 tank gas left so I had to spend time getting gas before I even headed to the place I was moving from.

The two ladies that were working Sunday morning (3/1/26) were kind enough to help me before the store opened. I arrived to pickup the 15' truck for my reservation, and the key was not available to me. Upon further investigation by the female associates, it was found that my keys were never left out the night before, and I was unable to pickup the truck at the reserved time of 8am.

Professional, helpful and friendly service at the local Burien Uhaul. Excellent selection of small trailers to rent. Our favorite is the 5'x9' utility ramp trailer that is so easy to maneuver with extensive tie downs. Do yourself a favor and stop by this location for your trailer rental needs.

I found a condom on the floor of the passenger side of the van. Clearly it hadn't been thoroughly inspected..

Only one attendant there, took too long. At the truck, the gas cap was off, tank almost empty though we were told it had 1/4 tank. Yes, they had an ongoing problem with siphoning at night. So had to limp to the nearest station for gas. Plus the mileage not updated, had to go back in before leaving.
The truck was clean though. Would recommend but with the truth, up to others to decide. Maybe all rental facilities have common problems.

The staff at the Burien location was excellent. They made it really easy to rent the truck and did not make me download an app or upload a bunch of pictures. They recovered and returned my friends cell phone that he accidentally left in the truck. The people were even better than the truck and it was good truck.

The make of he engine and drive train of the truck was sound, it just needed a tune-up, new battery, and air in the tires to make a cross-country trip over the mountains in the Wintertime. The battery was replaced, the air was filled, and the problem of the two misfiring cylinders identified by roadside service.
In return I was given three roadside services, and a fourth roadside diagnostic, also a hotel room, plus a relaxed return. I was allowed to simply drop off both the truck and auto-transport at the nearest U-Haul 3rd party dealer, and just drop off the keys.
I would highly recommend UHaul for their kindness, fair,ness and friendly service personel. All issues were handled with trust and confidence! Thank you!

The Saturday morning staff were cheery and polite to this 66-year-old fart. The IT/internet/computer system was 'down' yet they were expeditious in resolving the hand entered paperwork. I initially received the wrong keys to the right van yet that was quickly resolved.

Put more people on the schedule. The dude working didn't get to helping me for like 10 minutes because some lady couldn't hook up her own trailer and he needed to help her. It wasn't his fault, he was being a good worker and helping the other customer. I blame whomever made the schedule For putting just him there on a Saturday morning.

The 15-foot box truck I rented had very sketchy steering - very loose. Fortunately, I only had to travel a total of 15 miles on local streets. If I had to travel longer on highways, I would not have felt safe at all. Truck had 148,000 miles on it, so it's not a surprise, but still not acceptable.

Overall, expected experience for the price I paid. You get what you pay for.
I visited the location a few times for my storage, and one of my employees is annoyingly incompetent. The main office was being renovated, so a bunch of customers were standing outside, and the incompetent employee walked by us a couple of times and never let us know we had to check-in at the garage, which would've saved the customers several minutes of waiting for nothing. To the employee's credit, how can you expect more out of him when his own management can't even make signs to tell customers where to go.
Secondly, when I got unit 337, I saw that the vent had been ripped off with a screwdriver so that some junky could reach their hand in to grab stuff to steal and pawn for heroin. I was assured that the location's management would patch the vent up so that my storage unit would be secure. After storing my belongings at this location for almost two months, management never patched up the vent. Luckily, nothing was stolen.

The staff was outstanding & super helpful. I'm not a huge fan of the 'trailer van' storage units. I was under the impression that these units were part of a bigger building, so that was a little unsettling especially because of the crime in this area. The only other complaint I have it not being able to reach ANYONE at U-haul on the phone. Your online system works great and I'm thankful that it all worked out. But not be able to ask a person a question before hand was a little unnerving.

Your staff is typically amazing so you must be doing something right! However, they seem to operate with little supervision and little training and few processes. They had no idea how to handle an upset customer (me) when I came in after my unit had been broken into. They need more support there. All they did was look uncomfortable and shrug their shoulders.Whoever the woman was that proactively reached out to me and finalized my move out was especially helpful the past few times I was there. I wish I knew her name. As far as the facilities, they are are dirty and stinky and messy. I wished we had moved out sooner.
