The young man that help us when we first pick up the trailer was amazing!! Are break lights were not working so he checked the fuses and of course there was a bad one, then the lights to to the trailer wouldn't work so he got under the truck and fits that to!! He didn't have to do any of that he could of just said sorry They don't work and you can't take the trailer but he didn't and for that he saved our whole trip. I just wish i got his name!!Gretchen H.

This whole experience with Uhaul has been the worst moving experience I've ever had. I moved my 80 year old mom across country and every step was a disaster. First the movers never showed up. I called Uhaul and they said they use a 3rd party and could not answer any questions I had or why they didn't show up so I had to call a different moving company to have them move her stuff. Then the truck got delayed and her arrival date was moved a week longer. Then they didn't even deliver the box to her apartment they just dropped it off at the uhaul location in Gresham. I called and talked to the rudest lady I've ever talked to. She said they never deliever the boxes to the apartments they always drop them off at the local uhaul place then I have to call to schedule the drop off. I scheduled an apointment to have it dropped off at her apartment. When it was supposed to get dropped off I get a call from a different location that said I dont know why they scheduled it for that day we have no openings for a whole another week so she moved the delivery date out a week. I tried calling the gresham location to see if I could just come empty the box there instead of having my mom wait another week as she has been living in an empty apartment for a month now and after waiting on hold for an hour and a half I had to hang up to get back to work. Did this for 4 days before I actual got through to someone. I'm pretty sure it was the same lady I talked to the first time. She was very rude again and scheduled a time for me to come and open the box at the uhaul place. When I went they did not pull the box and I had to reschedule for the following Sunday. Showed up Sunday morning when they open and waited in line for an hour just for them to tell me they forgot to pull the box again so I had to wait for them to get it. The Location? Clean and Busy! The Staff? Impeccably Quick! The Equipment? Clean and Ready for me! When I arrived I saw people were hard at work cleaning and repairing trucks, They quickly got the trailer hooked to my vehicle, The manager even came out to ensure that my dispatch went as smooth as possible! I was helped at the counter by Ryan and Ben, who had me out the door in minutes. When I returned, I didn't even need to go inside and was off the lot in less than 5 minutes. I rented a trailer for 4 days. The website does not have the option for more then 24 hours. I emailed customer support via the website, asking to book 4 days. I was informed to use the website, when I mentioned I was unable to book more then 24 hours, I was told I would not be able to if the website did not allow it. Everything was made easy by the mobile service and online check-in/pickup. The only reservation I had about using the service came when I had to verify the current status of the truck via â€œapproving the pictures of the vehicle taken by Uhaulâ€. The pictures that I was presented looked to be taken when the vehicle was BRAND NEW and had just been cleaned/waxed. The pictures were not of the current state of the vehicle. (Similar when you move into a new place and the landlord rates everything -S- quality when it has obviously been â€œlived inâ€) I also only received 5 blankets instead of a half dozen in my package alsoâ€¦ That being said the experience was easy and straight forward. The vehicle I got had a quarter tank of gas in it. I was in a rush and didn't have time to deal with this issue, so I took pictures, submitted it via the check-in app, and ran my errands. I rwented the truck in the morning, worked fine until I unloaded, then it broke down on a busy highway. I was frustrated with the time it took to get assistance. Hottest day of the year! Went back to the store to tell them the dilema I had endured, and was treated poorly by one of the clerks. I finally found the manager, who heled me get the ball rolling. Brand new moving truck, broke down 70 miles from spokane. UHAUL had it towed to my home, I unloaded and UHAUL picked it and took it to your repair facility, and I get a bill for 805.00 for late charges. We will be talking to an attorney, and never using UHAUL again. Oh and they had our vehicle towed. When we couldn't get back to it, because your shoddy equipment broke down!Michael S.

I do have a question about the security. I was told it was great security but twice I have gone to the storage unit and the entrance gate is wide open and then when I got to the door to enter my section of storage I didn’t have to scan my card because the door was open both times. I didn’t feel very secure. Uhaul was not helpful when I lost my lock keys and offered no help and offered no solution other than call a locksmith. Locksmith was gonna cost more than the 165 I paid a month. Luckily we found a way to cut it off. No thanks to uhaul. So instead of continuing with uhaul I emptied and left. Only positive thing was the refund. I rented the space in the morning and returned with a small utility trailer full of belongings. The outside doors to the indoor storage spaces were open and unlocked, not secure. The space I rented was not the size advertised. Supposed to be 5’x10’ and was actually 3.5’x10’ with a raised area across the 10’ width of half of the total space of the floor looking like a bench, which greatly minimized the floor space. In addition, when we opened the door to the space, a large piece of ceiling sheetrock fell down from the ceiling, barely missing my head. Again, a large open space in the ceiling, not secure. Not acceptable. Also, there were steep stairs to the second floor, no elevator, which was very inconvenient. There were no other units available so we ended up taking our trailer full of stuff to Public Storage facility. Luckily we found a space at the last minute and we were able to move our load into that space that evening. The staff are all great and manager Cody is wonderful. He really helped me with an early appointment to have a hitch installed on my Highlander. And, I rented the storage, with the first month free. I appreciate everything they did to help and they were super busy but took the time to fully assist all their customers. Our area is under various levels of evacuation orders due to wildfires and we are all trying to safeguard at least some of our precious belongings. Cody and the staff are working extra hard to help people and I don’t think that the condition of their storage adequately reflects their good works. The storage facility seems to be in poor condition and needs renovation including an elevator so that it meets ADA building standards for public access.Elizabeth E. | First Impressions

We had a 400 mile move to make, equipment was selected online with no problem, felt comfortable selecting insurance and roadside assistance a sit was very affordable. The equipment performed perfectly and was a good ride and fun to drive. The assistance at the distant end was amazing considering it was a Saturday and everyone was checking equipment in and out. I got a storage unit that was perfect for was we needed, however, the access is limited to daytime hours as the door was not set up for the card access. The facility is super clean and well maintained. Most of the staff are helpful and work so hard. The reason they wouldn't get 5 stars is because the reservation system is not functional. I reserved one large and one medium unit a month before or 1000 mile cross border move. When I called to verify a week before the move, they had no record of my reservation even though I had been given a number. So I reserved again and to my dismay we were contacted during the 40 hour trip to say thre was no large unit. Both times I was left to feel I had done something wrong, though I had talked to multiple people and left a credit card number. We had to reschedule our movers and fortunately we had been given extra days in Canada on our 26' truck. I'd like to commend the managers and staff at this U-Haul location for the way they've responded during this Covid-19 pandemic. Staff was friendly and helpful. Negatives were I had several things stolen from my indoor unit. Several fishing poles and a clam gun. Total was about $600. A gap exists in adjacent units where the rollup door is at the front of the unit. The stolen items were all in reach to steal. Filing a complaint with corporate was denied.
